I think the best start point is to root your phone and then you're be able to do a lot stuff to your phone like flashing some good mod and/or installing any app like greenify or something like that. disable or remove any app/ process you dont need, change cpu govenor. disable wifi, bluetooth, gps when you're not need them.
and this last one is the best possible way....do not touch your phone.

"some up"? Ok... go to CWM->Advanced->Wipe Battery Stats ... if doesn't work, do a full wipe or reflash ROM, you are using...
Woke* auto correct lol, and o do this after every ROM flash and this wouldn't affect that anyway, its not done it before, only to 98% or something but I read that it does this it will reach 100% the stop charging to preserve the battery, but dropping to 88% is a bit extreme I think I'm losing like an hour of battery life

This is a calibration problem caused exactly by you wiping your battery stats, you need to leave them alone and after each flash do a full empty to full charge cycle so the stats can provide proper calibration statistics, I have never wiped battery stats in 2 years of owning my phone
I always do this after a wipe, wait till fully charged>wipe stats>discharge fully>recharge fully

Ok, I know the point you are making but I personally think it does more harm than good.... Does it drop straight down the moment you remove the charger?
I don't know if it might be a battery problem, or if the CM9 Nightly build I'm currently on holds a charge really well, but sometimes I charge my phone up to 100%, then after about 30 minutes of continuous, non-stop usage, the battery is still at 99%.
Is this odd behaviour or is it normal?

No it only charges to 88% unless I remove charger then plug it back in again then it will charge to 100%, I think its because the phone charges to 100% then drains then charges, but I think its failing to start charging once it drops to a certain limit (say 10%) so normally it would charge to 100% drop to 90% then charge to 100% so it doesn't damage the battery, but as I said I think its failing to start charging again so it just keeps falling... I need a fix for this? And yes it is a cm9 base

I've always been wondering: is it possible to "damage" the battery or lose some of it's juice by doing wipe battery stats to many times?

Calibrate your battery.
Let it empty untill blackout. Take out battery for 2 min then put it back again, and charge it to full, do not push the on button while charging.
My suggestion is to install and SPYCPU podesiš processor clock so you would not spend the battery more than they need. We also have a large selection governo, naćićeš best balance of performance and battery life.
Thanks jonpaslim! i will try to do that and will update the results

The total of 1 week I was on both OS builds I had these issues that I identified to be the battery:
Facebook
GPSD
and then not going into deep sleep (the phone gets warm)
Badass Battery (now another name, but you can still search Badass battery) and BBS (Better Battery Stats) helped me.
Thanks zkye.
So far i hv been using pretty alot of apps. Been using carat, netqin and cpu spy. Well the batt is still i would say average.. Im wondering how to read this thing on cpu spy. Especially the deep sleep graph. Is it sufficient? Or am i doing the wrong thing or what?

You can check version in settings, then about phone in bottom Guess you are on stock. Be carefull wiping, factory resetting and deleting large files as kernel can trigger a bug in emmc chip, corrupting partitions.
good you started analysing root causes. Always best case.
now if you dont care for warrantee you can follow directions from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29139461 to get back to starting point of install. Or to install the awesome speedmod kernel.
Alteratively you can add apps one by one and together with battery usage analysed you can fin culprits. With tools like betterbatterystats, cpu spy and badassbattery monitor

did you try re-calibrating your battery?
Hi xfox,
Done with calibrating as in let it empty, take out the batt for a while then turn it on again. It seems okay for now. Is there any other way instead? Im sorry for asking this stupid question again and again. And thank to all of ya for replying my so called newby question. Lol.

Thanks baz,
How i wish i could use those speedmod kernel and so on. Well im quite afraid to root it cuz im not too sure that im gonna use this phone for a long time. As the phone value will decrease if i void the warranty. But thx for replying my post tho. As for now im still monitoring my batt behaviour.

this done it for my brothers Note
thanks
Galaxy Note problem
When I got my Galaxy Note, the battery used to last for 10 hrs on GB. After upgrading to ICS, that time dropped to 8 hrs. And after ICS updates, it went down to less than 4 hrs since it was discharging much fatser than charging, and it was the same whether I used the original power charger or direct USB cable.
The original charger is an adapter + USB cable.
Everything went fine when i changed the USB and used the one originally used to charge the Sony 3D glasses.
Now it's charging normally and the discharge rate is around 8% /hr with WIFI and mobile data ON.
Hope it will work for you.
Last night I charged my phone and unplugged it around 6:30 am, but used it for maybe 10-15 minutes total for some calling and light apps like iGag, but as you can see, Android OS drained almost 30% of the battery while the phone was idling.
What exactly is Android OS, because I can't find the exact apps which drained the battery so badly. Any apps or advices for detecting the troubled apps or an advice? Thanks guys. :good:

Hello everyone. This is the third day I'm having the following issue: I turn off the phone at night with 50% battery, but when I wake up the smartphone doesn't boot, saying that there's no battery anymore.

wakelock detector. download from play store. and of course next time 1st search then ask
Do you turn it off completely or just lock it? If you shut it down then its quite strange, if not use the search function as mentioned above.

read please. he turned his phone OFF completely. there are no wakelocks then xP
OP, it might be a faulty battery. try to get the battery out for a night, put it back in the morning and check the status
lol. its obvious that he just described it wrong. u cant switch off the phone and lose 50% battery. he means he turned off display. the phone was supposed to "deep sleep". if he had it really switched off and lose 50% battery then he wouldnt ask. he would already know that his battery is dead and would kiss it bye bye....
if you look at his battery diagram, it kinda shows it was turned off, then turned on and it was on very low battery level, so i think he described it right. lets wait for OP for further info on the issue ^^
I shut the smartphone off. I'll try to check if this problem comes back having removed the battery, as suggested.

Turn your phone off, take the battery off at night and check how much battery you lose when you put it back in, the next day.
I think its just a dead battery, look how fast his battery drained down, it can't be simply wakelocks. My phone doesn't lose that much battery even with heavy gaming.
Anyways, google how to reset battery stats it might help or I don't know.If that doesn't work just replace your battery.
I thought yesterday that this wasnt possible.. Tonight, this happened to me...
I turned my phone off with 63% and in the morning I couldnt turn it on.. When I turned it off, the hardware buttons were on for a couple of seconds... So maybe the phone got stuck on some frequency and drained the battery.. Very strange... Will pull out the battery tonight to test some more.
OK i tried to remove the battery. Everything works fine. So the problem must be something related to the phone or android. I think it's the second one, since this bug happened to my friend as well, but not with this frequency.
Sent from my LG-P880 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It must be a problem with ROM, some bug that keeps the phone from shutting off. It must be stucked on some high frequency to drain so heavily!
