This app is not developed by me nor do I have anything to do with it.
The application will benchmark your phone within TWRP and not inside of android. This way a ROM or Kernel won't make a difference. Just the CPU itself. Here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2418732
What I would like to know if there is a substantial difference between the different versions of Nexus 4 devices. My Nexus benched on 0.254 GFlops.
Another Nexus ran on 0.233 GFlops. So there is a difference between the revisions of each phone. Would anyone be so kind to bench their phone and post the results + their revision?
Code:
Nexus 4 Revision 303K = 0,.254 GFlops
Nexus 4 Revision 303K With Trinity Kernel = 0.255 GFlops
Nexus 4 Revision ?? = 0.233 GFlops
0.222gflops. Rev 11, 16gb

What is the diferrence between armv7 rev1 and Armv7 rev2?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using XDA Premium HD app
Both are the same architecture, rev2 is an upgraded version of the rev1 chip. Sort of like the tegra 3 and the tegra 3+
They both belong to the same generation of chipsets, but may differ in chip size, die cast size, RAM management, voltage, K-value of materials used and so on

I think rev 2 can be overclocked more than rev 1?right?

Not necessarily, two identical CPUs may differ enough so that one can be overclocked about 1Ghz while the other might be unstable at 100MHz overclock.

I dont know much about mobile processors but I assume it follows the same concept as Desktop processors. Lets assume the i5 2500k is Arm v7 rev1 while the i5 3570k is the Arm v7 rev2. Just cuz the i5 3570k is newer does not necessarily mean it will clock better or hold temperatures as well. Yes i do know the latter i5 is built with a smaller die size but thats not my point
To answer your question, it really comes down to luck on how well you can clock your processor.
I know leaks are silly most of the time, but has anyone seen the N5 leaks?
The specs are kinda sweet. 2.3GHz quadcore, 1080p, 5.2 in, 3GB RAM and such.
Probably still no microSD. They would sell a lot more N4 with microSD.
Most of them I don't want or need. But as the N4 is not that expensive, I might trade up. How about you guys?

i think these rumours are just partially true. i dont think google will release a phone with 5.2" for now, im not even sure it will be 5". just look at the htc one, 4.7" and full hd, i think that would be perfect.
3gb ram... sounds weird. i think theyre gonna stick with 2 gigs. never seen my n4 run above 1.2 in usage.
2.3ghz cpu = snapdragon 800. might be true, although they might go with tegra4. either way, its gonna pack a lot of power.
no microsd slot is reasonable, just give me the opportunity to have at least 32 gigs of storage, and im gonna be fine.
the biggest hit with the n5 will be key lime pie imo. the hardware is waay ahead of the software if we're talking about android.
we need sw optimizations, and for the love of god, do something with the battery! the most annoying thing of any smartphone is that it must be charged every day if used normally.
im really interested in motos x phone, it should - like moto usually does - deliver decent battery life with good hardware and if the rumours are true, it will have vanilla android = its a win for me.
These are all rumors, wait for more reliable info, closed.

Is there no fun in these articles?, we don`t cure cancer here. Just people who are intersted in improving and tweaking their phones and intersted in what`s to come
I don't care about these specs. But have you seen this design ??/ Totaly sick !
Nope it's not the next nexus. 3gb ram? There wasn't even 2gb ram on high end phones until last month.

U.S. versions of the SGS3 have 2GB RAM. They were released in what, June or July of 2012?
2.5Gb or 4Gb RAM is more likely than 3 and hopefully DDR3.
I thought the rumor for KLP and allegedly up the newer Linux kernels use way less RAM then ICS/JB...why the need for more than 2gb then?

I was thinking the same thing. A mobile device using even 2GB RAM is a bit ridiculous. Jit compiling and Java in general are such resource hogs. Oh well.
Who says nexus five will be built by LG? (thread title)
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yeah just seems like overkill, or perhaps KLP and up will gobble up more RAM than we thought?

The main issue I see is that you have a ton of basement coders with no real training or experience releasing apps onto the Play Store loaded with inefficient and just poor code. That, I think, will be the main issue causing the "need" for more resources.
Shall we get into why quad and octa core CPU's in a phone are ridiculous with multi threading being in the state it's in or leave it alone?
Although the newly released Nexus 7 is already running the latest version of Android in the form of 4.3 Jelly Bean, a build number — KRS36B — for the Nexus 7 and Nexus 4 has been spotted on the Chromium bug tracker.
Source : http://ausdroid.net/2013/08/06/key-lime-pie-is-already-running-on-the-nexus-7-and-nexus-4/
I personally can't wait to see what changes it brings. The fact it's already being tested means we should hopefully see it this October

I wouldn't have thought Google would be shifting away from the old 16:9 aspect ratio, but I guess 7:6 is the future then..

What!, not #1, bye bye Nexus 5 Fire the judges immediately.
The XDA cheerleaders disagree with that ranking!!
Well, i don't know if phablets should be on the same list with smartphones, i mean they have a bigger case which allows a bigger battery and overclock.
Nexus 5 is always number 1!

Agreed! The article's number one choice is too large for a smart phone. I am sure there will be fans of it though.
I would put the Z1 at #1, maybe the yotaphone at #2, nexus 5 at #3.

The nexus 5 is amazing, i just wish LG had better Quality control... 3 faulty devices (faulty sim slot (no sims would work at all), mutliple dead pixels and more even more dead pixels). I may just be super unlucky....
TBH, if the nexus was exactly the same except that oppo or some other manufacturer known for quality, I would easily go around recommending it to people.
Some may disagree, but just remember that this is my opinion.
Samsung is bad too, sony is good and htc is decent (But not the best). Oppo seems to be #1 in terms of build quality and quality control.
