Bluetooth issue - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

(on OrDroid ROM base 4.2.2) Any idea why I cannot select phone audio profile in Bluetooth settings, I can only select media audio?
Trying to connect my phone to the car for phonecalls etc but cannot select phone audio option only media audio?? Does one maybe need some (or all) of the automotive apk's to use Bluetooth in the car for calls. I deleted them from the ROM so maybe that's what the problem is, really not sure, thanks

Seems that the bluetooth stack changed from JB 4.1 to 4.2, and this is causing some issues, has anyone got an older Bluetooth apk (4.0 or 4.1) thanks

[Q] ICS 4.0.3 (LQ3) and bluetooth services

Hi all,
I`m confused since i can not disable bluetooth media service on SGN for my car audio.
I can actually, but for this particular session only: by going to bluetooth settings, clicking cog icon on my paired car audio, deselecting media profile and leaving phone profile only.
But the next time i reconnect both services are enabled again.
Any ideas?
i have the EXACT same issue in my car. I haven't found a fix yet
Nice to hear that im not alone here
But im not sure if it has something to od with car audio.
interesting is if it keeps choice of enabled/disabled services at all?
should it by design or not?
Tasker script could help maybe, but i havent tried it yet

problem seems to be old enough

[Q] Bluetooth connection time on 4.2.2

Anyone else experience bluetooth connectivity issues on the new 4.2.2 firmware?
My car and BT headphones now take a lot longer to connect and disconnect to the phone compared to previous firmware.
In fact, the first time (after the update) i needed to manually connect to each deivce, almost like I had to remind the phone it was paired with them.
In comparison, my Nexus devices connect almost immediately on 4.2.2
Can anyone who is on 4.2.2 help test this?
Help confirm whether it is just me experiencing this or not. Thanks.
I have the same problem with my Mercedes BT System.
I connect my phone and lost my connection in 3-4min. After 10sec its connected again.
So my temporary work around was this:
1) Disconnect the Phone with my car
2) Clear Connetcion
3) Start new search and conntect the phone to BT
4) Didn´t allow the Mercedes BT to use my sms, contacts and so on.
With this it´s working if the BT System didn´t check my sms and contacts. But erverytime when I switch of the connection or car, I have to disallowed the BT System to check sms and contacts --- so this is only temporare and I hope for a better solution!
(Sry for my writen english - its bad )
My Bluetooth devices connected very quickly.
And no problems with sms and contact request?
Do you made a fullwipe?
My BMW simply won't pair with my XZ since updating to 4.2.2 - was working fine before on 4.1.2, but when I try to pair now, they recognise eachother, and I enter a code on the car to be verified on the phone, but after I enter the code on the phone, it all just freezes. The car sits there saying "Pairing...", but the phone thinks it's all been successful.
I have a bose audio system in my car, my XPERIA Z running PAC Rom - will pair, no audio or phone book exchange, My Dads Xperia z Works fine with stock rom. there is some issue I think with 4.2.2 maybe? I tried the Audio v19 and bluwtooth fix. NO LUCK!
Yes.. Having the same problem as well with Volvo's sensus multimedia system. It used to work fine.. Now it takes multiple tries to get it to connect since 4.2.2
I have the same problem.
I am having the same problem with the sbh25.
When i turn on the headphones my phone registers the pairing but no sound will be on. I have to manually turn the phone to speaker output then back to headphones for the music to stream through the bluetooth headset. This works first time 9/10 times. The other time i have to repeat the output step a couple of times for the music to be heard.
I had a couple of issues too with the latest 4.2.2. on my Kenwood system in the car.
This is terrible, clearly Sony did not thoroughly test the BT stack in this latest firmware.
I can honestly say, BT was pretty much working perfectly on 4.1.2 firmware. I may have to consider downgrading.
Thanks for everyones confirmation.

4.3 Bluetooth Issues

Just wondering whether there is any fix for the bluetooth issue on 4.3 roms. I can connect my phone to car without any issues, but cant syn contacts or answer/reject calls via steering wheel. If not, is it possible perhaps to copy bluetooth related files over from 4.2?

Quite the same problem here. I can pair the XZ with my Car's device (ego flash), but I can't synch the phonebook.
I already deleted the Bluetooth setting on both devices, nothing helps
if somebody has a solution??

sorry for my bad english...
I'm having exactly the same problems.
And it seems as if every android update on my xperia z fixes some bluetooth bugs and brings up some new ones. After each update, my phone behaves differently in my car.
I had the exact same issue, (to give a little more detail) it causes you to either drop wifi connection when on bluetooth or vice versa and i had just bought a sony smart watch that ran off of bluetooth.I never found a fix from sony. What i did do to fix it was flash myself the latest eXistenZ rom, it worked perfectly and both my smartwatch and wifi could work at the same time
Same song different dance
My issues with 4.3 update are related to the poor performance of the bluetooth driver on audio connect.
I have downgraded to 4.2 because i use bluetooth headphones and i have 2 bluetooth speakers, that with the 4.3 are almost useless because:
Low volume output over bluetooth, quality of the audio is a bit down, and most important for a heavy sleeper, the bluetooth speakers are working only with music/video soundtracks, they are not ringing anymore on phone calls, alarms, notifications.
Please, anyone, put the 4.2 bluetooth driver somewhere, flashable or i dont know, i tried everything, but i guess the best option is to install the 4.2 bluetooth driver on 4.3. Is it possible?
Now I found an workaround for me. I deleted all the photos inside the contacts ( about 8 or 9 contacts of 331 had a photo inside). Phone-Book sync and sending contacts separately is working now. Not perfect, but OK for the moment.
Could this be a problem with Android 4.3 ? I never had that before with my Defy, Razr i, Wiko Darkmoon or Alcatel OT6040D.

kbert

Bluetooth dropouts when using stereo speakers

This is a long shot.
I have a pair of Bluetooth 4.1 Minirig speakers that can be set in stereo mode. However when in stereo mode one channel experiences dropouts. Running in mono mode is fine.
The issue is with the Nokia 7+'s Bluetooth transmission as when using other Bluetooth enabled devices to power the speakers the issue does not occur.
Anyone else had this issue when connecting stereo speakers or headphones and know of a solution?
I have checked: System > Developer Options > Bluetooth Audio Codecs and tried changing these setting but the changes did not "stick" and problem remained.
Maybe there is an alternative setting somewhere that can be tweaked.
Thanks in advance.

I'm also having this issue: whenever I'm connecting my N7+ onto the car's audio system via Bluetooth I have to change the codecs to the correct one every single time to make it properly work (have sound/audio at all). The settings also don't stick or are not being saved. Also looking for a solution for this, unless an update miraculously fixes it.
Same problem here when connected to my car by bluetooth. Occasionally there is a dropout. This does not happen when my friends connect with their phones (oneplus 5, samsung, allview. or my old lg g4).
Changing the bluetooth audio codecs does not work as it does not remain selected and it switches to default. This, as i understood, happens on android 8 and has been resolved in the Pie beta and should be ok in the final Pie release.
When I raised the issue with the superbly talented nokia tech support they either act surprised as if its an unique issue to you or send you a list of compatible bluetooth protocols. Are we expected to change our cars and speakers to make the phone work?
I had this issue after installing garmin connect. Theres a thread over in the garmin forums (forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/garmin-connect-mobile-application/garmin-connect-mobile-android/1375800-audio-streaming-issues) about it. Also on the nokia forums (community.phones.nokia.com/support/discussions/topics/7000022239/). Seems to affect some phones on 8.1
Anyway, I'm on Pie beta now and the problem has gone away.

Fix Bluetooth problem with lineage-17.1-20200911-UNOFFICIAL-v1.5-lilac: Is there a quick fix without having to update to 18.1?

My Xperia XZ1 Compact has a strange problem: Both of my BT devices (Jabra Evolve 65, Denon Envaya Mini) work well with my phone if I answer phone calls. But playing audio files does not work. I tried two audio players (Mort Player and the lineageos music app) and played a MP3 file from Youtube. On another phone both devices play music perfectly. So it is obvious that my devices are not the problem. It is definitively the phone.
In the bluetooth settings of both devices, media is on. I also tried to deactivate phone call in the settings but it did not help.
I tried to change the protocol version to 1.4, I deleted the bluetooth cache and resetted the bluetooth settings.
Please have a look at my Logcat attached. What I basically did while it ran is: Click the volume button, select the bluetooth symbol and changed from one device to the other.
I can't tell you which firmware I have. I did not find any information about it.
It seems like in 18.1 this has been fixed. But is there a quick way fixing the problem without upgrading to 18.1/2.0? Perhaps by changing a few values somewhere?
