[Q] Mounting in TWRP - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Back when I had the Evo 4g LTE, I could mount the phone as a disk drive in TWRP recovery to transfer files such as roms. I was wondering if there's a way to do that with the HTC One?

Not in twrp. The HTC one has internal storage not removable storage. You can sideload from twrp but that's about it

Thanks for the answer

Mounting will no longer be available in any recovery because the internal storage is formatted as ext4 whereas it use to be FAT on the LTE. The latter is USB mountable, the former is not.
The closest you can now get to this functionality is to use USB-OTG.

[Q] SafeStrap Question

I recently used the safestrap to create SD partition. I know that creates a partition that is ext3 or ext4, but I am unsure on how I can delete that partition ? I am unable to see it through the bionic and have tried a couple of ext viewer programs via Windows with also no luck. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Download MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition for your computer and mount your sd card (Not through phone). This program will detect all partitions on your card and allow you to reformat.

This actually affected the internal storage...not the external sd card. Will this tool recognize the internal chip ?

Okay so I misunderstood your situation.. Now when you say you created a partition do you mean you activated a slot (creating a 1,2,or 3gb partition) to flash your rom? If so you need to reactivate your stock rom then safestrap will allow you to remove the rom slot partition that you flashed your custom rom. This will in turn get rid of that partition. If you did something else, sorry but I never used that feature.

[Q] SD card still not working.

Running Cm10 nightly ( January 27th).
S-On
Everything works like a beauty...
EXCEPT
I have gone through about 5 different processes to get my internal SD card to register but it won't.
My 32gb SDHC class 10 is working fine.
There is 3.81GB Total space registering under internal storage
Internal storage (area 2) only gives you the option to Mount SD card. I have tried mounting from settings and from CWM.
Give me any ideas to get it working again please!
It has removed the ability to use the stock camera and gallery apps as well as install swiftkey.
On a secondary note: Which kernal would be suggested to overclock Cm10?
Someone needs to talk to hansoon...
Clockworkmod screwed you up...
Switch to twrp...
Mount it via USB to windows and see if it can be formatted there

Yes clockwork mod should be removed from this forum it causes too many problems and we keep saying use twrp or wcx

Booting in WCX
I booted to wcx and it still won't mount the / sd-ext
I am used to CWM on my touchpad is there any advice you have to fix this through WCX
And so far thank you very much! This is my daily driver and I had no choice but to go to a custom ROM and I am really not familiar with HTC rooting or WCX recovery.

It can be formatted by USB-MS booting through WCX.
Should it be formatted to Fat32?
And is there going to be anything major I have to re-install afterwards? All my roms and zips are located on the 32gb card.

Yes Fat32... and anything that's on the SD is going to be gone.. but there's nothing you can do at this point but format.

Thanks Homeslice!
It was running without it for a while anyways so no loss to data. All seems to work again!
I apparently was using WCX the whole time I just typed CWM. Clockwork works great on the galaxy and touchpad.
Most devices it does. Ours in unofficial and has had problems from the start
Uhh dude...
Sd-ext is the darktremor apps2sd partition...

Change partition layout?

Hi.
Now that we have S-OFF would it be possible to change the partition layout to assigne more space for internal storage? I have removed most of the HTC bloatware in the ROM I'm using so the need for system space should be reduced. Nor do I need 2 gigs free to install apps...

Is it impossible?
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
It should be possible, but the risk of brickage is high. I haven't heard of anyone even attempting it.
has anyone more news about this?
because now with cm10.2 only needs 372mb on the 1.8gb /system partition... also /cache is 630mb...
what if we can put that extra storage to the /data partition?

[Q] worrying line of type that shows in red in TWRP when backing up rom

Hi all i wonder if you can help. When i made a backup of rom in TWRP, during the 'running open recovery script backing up bit it says a line in red:
E: Unable to locate ' /sd-ext' partition for backup calculations.
What does this mean?. Does it mean that the backup that I made will not work? Scared to death of flashing any more ROMs now in case it all goes pear shaped and the back up I've made won't work
I'm pretty sure that's because we don't have an external SD card. Shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Thanks bud, that's reassuring had a feeling I was gonna be stuck on liquid smooth ROM forever lol
sd-ext is a manually created partition on an external sdcard used to symlink /data onto for devices with only (for example) 512MB internal memory. We're talking about Samsung Galaxy 1, HTC desire (original) here.

OTG Mounting Issue

Has anyone been able to mount a USB otg adapter on the new 5.1 update? I can not get my 32 gig sd card to mount in settings but I can read it with es file explorer? Any one have any idea as to how to get it working in settings also to see how much storage has been used and such?
Sent from my XT1097 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
My otg didn't work in 5.0 either only in 444. It's a kernel issue. Not found any work around so far except to use otg in twrp and even then had to be older version of twrp
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk 2
Works fine for me. It has worked for me on 4.4.4, 5.0, and 5.1.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
I was able to get mine to work by using es explorer and unmount the drive with it and then my phone would mount correctly. I have to do that each time I want to use my otg adapter.
Sent from my XT1097 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
For those that say it is working, are you using an Sdcard reader or a otg thumb drive?
I'm using a meenova otg adapter.
Sent from my XT1097 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Its definitely kernel related... this is why newer versions of twrp have the same issue but older versions do not. TWRP updated the kernel base after 2850 to a 5.0 base
I've also had issues mounting my meenova. I gave up and went to a flash drive with a micro-usb port and it works every time.
I sure do miss my meenova though.
I could not get my 64GB card (meenova adapter) to mount in TWRP. I could however copy a TWRP backup to the card using Root Explorer. Attempting to format the card I found out that windows 7 will only format Fat32 up to 32GB without additional software. Grabbed a 16GB card and successfully did a backup and restore using TWRP 2.8.7.0.
Res remix 5.4.9
twrp 2.8.5.0 has full sdcard support i use it daily
