There's a dude that releases a modified touch recovery of CWM...
But pretty much you are either using that (PillZ) or regular CWM
The recovery is embedded within the kernel on this device.
No need to post back here at all. Just look at the kernel threads and see what recovery they include.

Maybe i did something wrong but when I go to use Clockwork recovery with FastyII I get the following options and no Captivate.
Confirm Phone Model
Galaxy Si9000
Galaxy i9000 (MTD )
Google Nexus S
Nexus S 4G
I know it has to do with the moded bootloader but Captivate is not in that list. Is there a way to fix that.
By the way I love FastyII I get so much better battery on my phone. Any chance a version for Samsung Vibrate
It should have cwm built into the kernel. No reason to use rom manager
Sent from my Inspire 4G

Just to confirm, yes, CWM is built in on Fasty II kernel (I am using Fasty II v1.9)
Hi right there,my friend borrowed me his Galaxy Next (GT-S5570) for an afternoon because he wants me to update his phone to CyanogenMod 7.2 (ICS is bad for him,he needs camera).

Today, another friend of mine borrowed me his Galaxy Next to update it. It's 2.3.4 so guess I only have to flash the clockworkmod right?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
Yup..just the cwm. But it's advised not to flash it through rom manager.
The links given by aprizND are good.
Ur pretty well known..even here
Hope one of ur friends persuades u to dev something for mini too
You can directly flash CWM through stock recovery. Link is in the post by aprizND post but still...

Hello,
Guys I have korean model SHW-M240S of Samsung Galaxy ACE.
I want to install CWM, i have tried to install the recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace-fix.zip file from this thread but its giving error when i try to install it from Recovery (something like incorrect version or not matching model s5830).
Can someone please help me or provide me working link of CWM recovery for my mobile SHW-M240S.
Thanks.
There are no mods for your model
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace.
before flashing that file you must first flash the offcial release of the cwm recovery for your ace
it was something like cwm recovery 4009
should work on your shw m240s
im using it well with no problems on my shw m240s

Thanks for reply, i will try this method.
The Korean Ace uses a different CPU and kernel.I highly doubt that flashing GT-S5830 firmware won't damage the phone hardware. Of course you can try but that will probably kill it.
The recovery however seems to be the same as 5830,so you probably can use 5830 recovery's safely.
try installing CWM 4, that might work, but please, no custom roms, afaik, no one is developing a custom rom for that model. dont take your chances.

Hello,
is it possible for me to "download" the rom from my working galaxy mini so I can install on my broken one?
I already have some experience with odin and know a bit how it works.
Sorry for my bad English, I'm from Belgium.

You mean that is it possible to download a stock ROM using your Mini? Of course you can.
But with better browser such as Opera Mini / UCMini & you'll need a PC to flash stock ROM
But if your broken phone able to boot CWM Recovery then you don't have to flash stock ROM
Flash any other custom ROMs from xda instead :good:
