Motorola atrix hd at&t rooted and unlocked bootloader...
thanks
Uh I removed safe strap on my device but I can't remember how. It might have involved full wipe or something like that. It is probably not the exact way to do it so don't do it if you don't trust me.

Did you try using Myth Tools?

So you uninstalled it then if your getting the dead Android.. You just click uninstall within safestrap. Make sure you delete the created partition.

Download a CWM image, boot to fastboot
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery cwm.img
Right? You can unlock BL while on safestrap I'm sure, so I don't see why not.
Unless I'm just dumb and SafeStrap isn't installed to the phone's recovery partition...
Just wanted to say thanks for the help. I installed cwm recovery flashed the cm10.2 and the safestrap is no more...

So I been trying to root my phone for about an hour now. I rooted, un-rooted then rooted again, and it seems to have work (obviously you can't tell when your phone is rooted, but oh well). I'm kind of a noob in the Droid 3 section, but then I went to the Market place and downloaded the "ROM Manager", downloaded the CM9 recovery, and had the app boot into recovery but to my surprise, it doesn't work for some reason. I don't under what else I can do, am I rooted? Do I need to manually install CM9 recovery? I just want ICS on my phone, and this is driving me crazy.

Do you have Super User app on your phone ?
Yup. I do, I have no idea where it came from though.
Sent from my DROID3 using xda premium
Does it open? Look up the thread for boot two roms at once in the genreal section. Follow that and you will have ICS. You should wait tho, as a new build will be up tonight for ics.
Sent from my XT862 using Tapatalk
Yup, it opens and shows the applications that I allow, does this mean that I'm rooted for sure? I'll definitely wait for the new ICS rom tonight, just want to make sure if I can boot into recovery. I tried using the "X" and power button but it just gives me the triangle with the "!" logo inside.

I believe in the droid 3...you hold the Power + M for recovery. Not the X.
Root checker is an app that will tell you if you are rooted. You need to either install the droid 3 bootstrap or safestrap to get cwm recovery.

Its kind of either or.
You can hold Power + M, and use the volume keys to select recovery, or you can hold Power + X and it will go to recovery as well.

It gave ya the right screen. But that takes you to the stock recovery. To install roms you will need Clockworkmod Recovery or Safestrap Recovery.

Go with safestrap. Especially if you're new to this.

Well for me from manager doesn't work.. the recovery it installs does not start from app... never tried other way . Uninstaled RM and installed only hashcode's safestrap so you don't need to start in recovery.: it will give you the option to open the cwm menu from boot by pressing menu button when prompted and if nothing done then start normally..
:in hashcode's blog are: instructions for flashing cm9 with safestrap
Good look

Well I was installing a custom system ui. And I didn't make a ss backup. My bad I know. Well the phone wouldn't boot up past recovery so I deleted the ROM slot and created a new one to reinstall a fresh copy of joker but when flashing the gapps the screen flashes off then goes back to the add zip screen. Any ideas?

Lol sure. To check all you need to do is cruise to your system app folder and see if there is odex files in there. Just send it to me again and I'll do it right quick.
Like that?

I have the AHD w/ 4.1.1 rooted. Other than rooting it, its stock. I haven't installed SafeStrap like everyone else and I'm going to unlock my bootloader shortly. So how should I go about flashing CWM recovery afterwards? I want to go from unlocking to flashing recovery without SafeStrap. Thanks

Easiest way is to download ROM manager and install the recovery for the photon q.

yo can you flash with the photon q cmw if so is there a special process you use?
It works like it was made for ours.

I decided to use ROM Manager and install the Photon Q cwm. Works like a charm. I did a full backup & restore of my stock rooted 4.1.1 without a hitch. Mounted /system, wiped and reset, then flashed Batakang Rises and gapps... I can't complain at all! Haven't had any FCs or anything. Battery life is much better for sure!

You know what they say... Once you go Android, you don't go back. Flashaholic for sure.
So I'm running the 9/18 CM 10.2 on my verizon droid 4 stock slot. I saw in the thread for CM that there is a new binary. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102723&page=81 What exactly does the binary do and should/how do I use that latest binary?
Nah your good. That's just for fast booting back to stock in case things get fubar

If your phone is totally dead, you can restore it using that files and the method of flashing it through RSD

Thanks for the heads up.
Hi, My brother has a rooted kindle (Which I rooted for him, he doesn't know much about root, but he wanted the play store). His kindle was starting to get laggy, and random touch input, Im thinking it's happening because it's just slow. I'm not sure what app is causing this, but just to point out.. So he wanted to format. I'm not sure if it will brick his kindle since it's rooted. But I did see a forum page about someone's phone on a black screen because it was rooted and he formatted it. So should I unroot it then format? Am I missing something?
You do not want to format your kindle. Instead install a new rom such as kinology. Follow all instructions.

Thanks for the reply, but the kindle's bootloader isn't unlocked. Is there a workaround or anything from flashing a rom?
Just go into the Dev section and read the thread by hashcode entitled installing second boot loader + twrp
