CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
What are Nightly builds? Auto compiled builds of the latest CyanogenMod source from github. This version change each night and aren't officialy supported. If you find bugs/issues you can/must discuss here (do not submit nightlies bug on CyanogenMod issue tracker).
My builds uses all official CyanogenMod sources except the kernel. But I am merging it with all fixes/features from CM kernel repo, Google and kernel.org mainline too.

Thanks for your great job, Bro.
Downloading! Nice work man. I saw that the 801X folder just got a new build, is the 8000 also being updated? If thats the case I hold of on flashing the 130821 build.
Thanks for all your hard work.
Wait what, am I missing something? This ROM has HALO? That's awesome, but a bit surprising as I thought this was just CyanogenMod with your kernel. Not complaining as I've wanted to try it out for a while but it was a shock to see.

Hi boys
Ive been using this excelent ROM and only found 2 errors
1 the camera doest work . neither the focal .
2 the Google drive get permanent error
Gapps are the 20130813
Thank you!
My feeeback:
While using stock browser the header(2 inch long bar appears @top of screen) keeps flashing when trying to scroll then goes black, same thing with dolphin browser.
Im no expert but 4.3 might need some tweaking for our video cards. This is experimental so its pretty darn good to even run.
Focus camera FC's.
Random reboots.
Thanks for letting us try this out.

Graphical glitches
Hello to all,
cm team solved the graphical glitches. Works for my S3 and N8010.
Edit the build.prop file in the system folder:
OLD: hwui.render_dirty_regions=false
NEW: debug.hwui.render_dirty_regions=false
--> reboot
:good:
Hi fríends
I must return to 4.2 because gapps were to unstable. Hangouts keep chrome and youtube always on fc.
Very sorry about that.

Is it possible to have a flashable zip of your latest kernel compatible with official cm?
If this isn't possible, how can i make a zip always compatible with official cm?

Do you want to use this kernel over official buids?
Just replace boot.img file into rom install package.
Or
I made a flashable package (only kernel install) for N801x and you can use it as sample for anothers variants.
Please, check this file: META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
You'll see the install script.
Cheers!

How to understand which one is for atrix? Or everything in your link is for atrix?
will this build have the cyanogenmod options to change the notification power widget? Or is that not part of the build yet?
Look for atrix, but wait on downloading till its done
Edit I just noticed that server cuts off the name. Its alpha1, I'll make separate folders on the next update.

In another CM9 thread, some said the battery indicator disappeared when fully charged.
Flashed it.
Bootanimation - yes!
Boots? - yes!
First crash'n'stuck on "M" was after 5 seconds of working, when I choose language. Does it hate russian?
Removed battery, restart... work log:
Boot - check!
Firststart setup - check!
Wi-Fi - check! (without reboot)
Camera - NOT WORKING (as I remember it isn't working in Photon too, so no surprise)
Browser - check!
Google Maps - check!
Epic cosplay lesbian porn - nope! (need to fix it)
Mobile data - check!
Phone calls - check!
SMS - check!
Youtube - check!
3D Games (Modern Combat) - check!
Auto-rotate - check!
Auto-brightness - not shure
Work rather stable - no reboots after the fist one. Phone is hot a little bit.
Maybe it is placebo, but looks like this rom is a little faster. Bad thing is that now internal card is emmc now - not good want oldschool!

Enabling custom levels in Automatic backlighting works fine on up scaling brightness on increasing lux, but when lux is reduced back the brightness value corresponding to lower lux is not getting applied till the phone is locked and unlocked once..

There shouldn't be any real difference between the nightly and the RC, the RCs ara build from the gb-release branch which gets taged some time before building the RCs, so every maintainer can test against this branch.
Nightly builds are build from the gingerbread branch without any testing.

YOU'RE ALIVE. Lol, we miss you. And thanks for the great builds, CyanogenMod and Kali....
Been using CM9 RC1 for a couple hours now and everything is running pretty good.
The only thing i'm noticing is lag and screen tearing on stock launcher, and that's with or without forcing gpu rendering or surface dithering.
Other then that, everything seems stable enough for a daily driver.
Thank You CM Team!
EDIT: Seems to be happening with other launchers and with window and transition animations...

Try another kernel (matr1x, _thalamus). It should go away.

Thanks, but im not a fan of 3rd party kernels, hope CM-Team can fix it soon.
Btw, why does the CM team link to the 0317 Gapps, and not the latest - 0429?

Was curious about this as well. Just a goof?
3/17 is the one we test against and has confirmed good signatures for all components.

So I use the4 latest and no problems here but is there anything you can elaborate on that might have caused conflicts?
I've always wondered why I have a greenish look on CM9.
changing kernels solves the problem. Looks like color hue is off.
Any ideas ? why is this kernel related ?
would anyone care to share any major differences between AOKP and CM9? Would flash myself but don't have the time at the moment
Screen tearing on white background is the reason I stop flashing CM9 two month ago... I guess it was never fixed...

I've been on AOKP for awhile and never had the issue. I just flashed the RC1 this morning with 04292012 gapps and the matr1x kernel (v22) and mine is not greenish. (Sorry I didn't even boot before flashing kernel).
I've only been running it today with this setup and it is really fast and snappy.

I just switched from AOKP today and the main difference is bootanimation, launcher and AOKP has a little more customization options. :silly:
Honestly though, this build is running really nice and fast and I sure missed CM's "go to sleep" button in the notification pull down. So who knows what I'll do...

you are awesome joker
Darn! Wish you woulda posted this yesterday. I had to do a full wipe to use the other rom. No matter, thanks for jumping on the boat again joker! I'll be waiting for some feedback.
Is there a working/not working list available somewhere?

Joker, I think you should open up a discussion thread. That way, this thread won't be flooded with trolls and beginners who are totally lost. This thread can be used to identify issues aswell as exploring fixes and such before getting our ICS from Motorola. The CM9 thread was filled to the brim with newb and rubbish posts (including mine )
Let's avoid conflict and help our Atrix grow!
Does anyone know if the kernel in this ROM is the same as the epinter's?

I have two camera icons. One works but not for panoramic (or video obviously). The other can't connect to the camera. After one can't connect a reboot is intermittently required to connect.
Internal and external mount points are reversed by default. Changing the option to use the internal mount point doesn't seem to make
The download directory is now located on internal storage. Toggling internal/external storage doesn't make any difference. Perhaps this is because the mount points are now /storage/sdcard0 (internal) and /storage/sdcard1 (external) I never looked for them in CM9 though so maybe that much hasn't changed. There's no /emmc that I can find.
I flashed the ROM and GApps over epinter's 20120721 build. Mount points were the same there but the camera worked as well as in the CM9 builds.
jb has that mount point, sdcard0 for internal and sdcard1 external. found in /storage/
like you said, cm9 has emmc and sdcard.
