[Q] Bricked my Samsung Galaxy S - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I wanted to root my I9000 and flashed my phone using Odin, and found later in a thread that the guy posted a I9100 in stead of a I9000 kernel
now my phone is completly dead, it doesn't react on anything.
3-button combination, or removing the battery
and all combinations of this, nothing
I can't get it in to recovery or download mode
no icons on the screen...NOTHING
plugging in the USB cable doesn't show anything on the screen
plugging in the adapter doesn't show anything on the screen
Odin doesn't recognize it, and adb also not
my PC doesn't recognize it too
My battery might be dead, as it was low when I started the flashing (Stupid, I know)
Should it charge without any operating system on it?
it gets hot when charging , that's the only sign of life so far
Please help me,
Thanks

Hmmmm, maybe you really killed it....
Did you try this:
remove the battery
keep power button pressed for about 1min (without battery)
put battery back and press these buttons in this order: Volume Down + Home (Menu) + Power Button (keep them pressed then)
Something happened?

sadly you have hard bricked your phone by NOT charging it at least 50% before flashing . USB JIG might not solve it but no harm trying.
Your only possible option IF you want to try recovering it by yourself is , look at My Android Solutions (link below) probelm No 25, this involves some technical workmanship, or take it to your nearest phone repair shop to have it flashed with a Riffbox and Jtag connection.

I will try a JIG first (only 3Euro), then I will try to get UBUNTU on a PC of mine (Not a Linux user)
or else I will go to a repair guy for a JTAG repair :good:

You won't need ubuntu. If the jig awakes and turns your i9000 into download mode, you will probably be able to revive it by "normal" unbricking, just using PC and Odin. Check my post of last 2 days, I've sent step-by-step guide to several people who following that way successfully unbricked their i9000s (with stock rom out of 3 files and pit file)

[Q] Help Samsung anycall logo stuck screen

Hi,
I recently upgraded my os from gb to jb.
Now for some reason the samsung anycall logo is appearing on the screen. This is the same logo that appears before download mode. I have cmw mod installed.
I let the battery discharge, and tried to reboot, and the same logo appears and freezes.
I tried using odin, and my phone was not detected.
Any advice please?
Thanks

Can you boot into Download Mode/Recovery Mode?
If so, try reflashing the ROM.
If not, your phone may be soft-bricked.

No, Download mode does not work using the three button method.
I have a feeling it is soft bricked.
I bought a micro USB jig off ebay, so I hope that will fix the issue of enabling the phone into download mode when it arrives next week.
Any other recommendations?

No, if you can't get into download mode your phone is soft bricked, you did well that you ordered that jig, use it and boot into download mode and then flash back the stock firmware using odin (you will find instructions of how to do this on the forum or wiki page) than you may try to flash custom ROM again but be careful this time.

edit: sorry this may not work as i9001 uses 32 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255T + Qualcomm Adreno 205 and i9000 uses 32 bit Samsung-Intrinsity S5PC110 + PowerVR SGX540
and this method was meant for S5PC110, suggest you download i9001 tech manual to see if mother boards are identical for it to work

i can't find i9001 tech manual File not found. mobile phone is no longer under warranty :/
Try searching somewhere I9001 tech manual, but they want it for charge on some forums.
Maybe I could unbrick my phone, or visit a workshop. I have Courage but not experienced before, but once everything is first. if you know what I mean and thank you for your quick answer.

well, its a lot better/cheaper than you trying to solve it yourself, the reason for this to happen would be you lost power when flashing or your phone got disconnected when flashing causing bootloader to fail so when you use JTAG, meaning the mother board is connected to JTAG you can fix the bootloader and flash new ROM

[Q] can't mount SD card

So I've been having a lot of issues with my Galaxy S for a long time. Freezes, W-Lan constantly dropping, bootloops, etc. and today I started trying to fix it by flashing roms. Some worked better than others. For instance, the stock ROM left me with the same w-lan issue.
I might've made some mistakes so after several tries I went with EZOdin since, apparently, that's a very clean slate to go from.
Now... after the EZOdin flash and no further steps, the W-Lan issue actually seems to be resolved but now (on EZOdin and on later reflash of stock ROM) I ran into a new, even worse, issue: My SD card doesn't mount, so now I cannot use USB Mass storage, cannot take pictures, cannot download other ROMS via ROM Manager if I wanted to, nothing.
And I've been googling this issue for a while, trying several supposed solutions, all with no luck. I don't know what I can do...
Any suggestions?

I just flashed a Kernel with CWM. Mounting /sdcard in recovery doesn't seem to do anything. I must've done something horribly wrong in my earlier tries to fix my other issues. I mean I never had any problems with USB storage or the internet SD or the external one or anything.

I tried the "i9000 Rescue EzBase Rescue and Recovery by nitr8 Full Graphical HOW To and Tutorial download" from that thread using the guide, didn't help. When I go into recovery it says /sdcard is mounted but the problem remains. Same when I unmount it and try to mount from within the settings.
I must've done something terribly wrong at some point, huh?
It's mentioned everywhere that not turning off lag fixes before using Odin can cause problems like this. Now I don't THINK I ever even had any turned on but by now I'm not too sure about that anymore. I think these issues started happening a few flashes after I knew about that and double checked (and there weren't any lagfixes enabled then) but at this point I am really not too sure anymore so let's say that is the cause of this issue; how screwed would I be?
pretty boned, huh?

The problem is that my phone is blocking at S sign. All i can do is just to enter in Download Mode or in the BIOS ( home + power on + volume up )
So i need just a file to put on SDCard, then from BIOS just install it Is it possible?

Galaxy S Bricked?

PHONE: samsung galaxy s 1
STORY
Hello everybody... so here is the deal, i know this might not be a BRICKED case or anything buuut yeah :
So today my phone ( on which i have installed CyanogenMod 10 ) was workin as usual, nothing new (and so on).. I went in to my car to drive to the mall, left my phone in there and when i came back it was shut down... so i thought "hmm alright, battery must be empty" . When i arrived home and turned it on the phone was stuck on BOOT LOOP.
No worries, right? Just wipe out the data/cache... alright, i tried doing that but i was unable to get in to recovery mode ( and yes, i did try all the combos out there) On the other hand i was able to enter in Downloading Mode( cool, right? ) Odin recognized the phone, sweet.
What now, i asked myself, so i went and searched a little, and i found "PH-D710.ODIN_WIPE_CACHE_DATA.exe"
(i have the url but i cant post it due to post cap req)
I ran it, and Odin got stuck at "Setup Connection", waited 3/5 minutes then i closed it, uninstalled samsung kies, and tried again.. invane.
So i tried booting recovery mode again, but this time when the phone turned up there was this black screen with a "phone wiered to a PC" icon... ( btw ) Download mode still available.
Yeah, here is the problem now... I did the CyanogenMod 10 Install last year ( around this time ) so i dont happen to remember alot.. all i know is that i have a rooted phone, and it was running CM10 perfectly up until something happened (?)
Yea, does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I am willing to Reset to the default Samsung galaxy S mode ( v. 2.3.1.. probably wrong haha ) and then install CM 10 afterwards
TO SUM IT ALL UP:
I have CM10, today it went in Boot loop
I tried entering recovery mode to wipe data/cache <- wouldnt let me enter( i can enter downloading mode )
^ thats why i installed "PH-D710.ODIN_WIPE_CACHE_DATA.exe" and tried to do it with ODIN
This lead to a black screen with a "phone wiered to a PC" type of icon
++ Forgot to mention that last time the phone worked Debug was off (or at least thats what i think, since it was reset-long story- and i didnt modify it since)
And thats pretty much it, Sorry if it was too long :/
Some help would be apriciated ( and i did look around.. a lot, but as i said, i installed CM 10 last year so i forgot some of the details, but feel free to ask and help, i wont stop you lol )
