I wasn't paying close attention this morning at work, decided to flash a new rom and accidentally deleted my systems partition in the wipe.
I cannot for the life of me fine my usb-otg so that is out for now. TWRP is still installed, I can fastboot and thats bout it. I do have a copy of the TWRP backup on my laptop as well as few other roms. Any suggestions?

Use ADB to sideload a rom then you can transfer your TWRP backup to the device and go from there.
here is the guide to sideload
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2318497
That is exactly what I needed. Now my only problem is, Im a moron and while trying to figure an answer out I flash my stop recovery and now things are just all messed up. I tried flashing twrp again but it keeps saying it failed.
scratch that just needed to open a new cmd.
On to the sideload. Im following the instructions and Im guessing when i "adb sideload rom.zip" it doesn't say sideload next to it, it says host
got it to working.

Hi I was having some issue with ARHD 8.1 and forgot to make a back up and I did a Wipe Data Wipe and now I'm stuck in Recovery with no way to boot into the system or mount to my computer. Since I wipe to DATA I can't find the ROM. I'm not sure what to do. Please Help.
I'm in teamwin recovery and when I try to mount all I get is updating partition details... just stuck there.

So you will need to download the all in one tool kit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942 first flash over to clockwork mod recovery. Then download the ROM you want to install. Rename to rom to rom.zip or something short no spaces and simple. Then go into CWM recovery and go to sideload ROM. Then go into the all in one toolkit and select the ROM you downloaded and renamed and profit.
Copy the rom you wanted to install to the phone
"adb push rom.zip /data/media/rom.zip" (where rom.zip is the actual file name)
Then flash the rom

He would have to push the rom to /sdcard/0/ as he's using TWRP. That's why I suggested CWMR and the all in one toolkit to make things simple.

Of course. Not trying to say your method isn't the way it should be done as it is. Just TWRP doesn't register the SD card right so everything is in a "special" directory for it. And I apologize if my response came off harsh it was not meant to your way is the correct proper way every one should know cause they should know basic ADB.

Nullkill You the MAN! You save me an evening of Frustration. In fact after the sideload, It just started up the Flashing the ROM. However I'm stuck in unmounting partitions, was wondering if I should just reboot. Doesn't seem to be doing anything, just waiting.
I was trying to Sideload via cmd.exe but wasn't able to do it, but the tool kit made it so much easier. Thanks!!!!
Yeah you are safe to reboot and thanks for the kind words. I was stuck where you are at not too long ago
Hey guys, long time lurker and now first time poster. Shame it has to be something very stupid.
So anyways, I wanted to flash the latest CM10.2 Unofficial build so I did the usual and downloaded the zip & gapps to my phone. But upon wiping my phone via TWRP I accidentally left the wipe userdata part checked and ... well now I have no OS installed as well as no zip's :/
I have TWRP installed so I thought why not sideload it, however when I go to advanced -> adb sideload it never starts up. This is the log:
Updating partition details...
Starting ADB sideload feature...

And it just stays there
I know that my ADB works as I have S-OFF & unlocked the bootloader and flashed the latest 1.54.0000 hboot so I can definitely use it, I just don't understand why it doesn't let me sideload for some reason.
Either way, I have full access to fastboot & TWRP recovery so i'm hoping this is a pretty simple thing to fix ... right?
Can anybody point me to the right direction?
Details:
No OS installed.
Access to TWRP & fastboot.
S-OFF, Modified Hboot 1.54.0000 (SuperCID) & Unlocked bootloader.
Windows 8 64-bit, drivers all work.
Latest SDK with all the binaries installed.
P.S. when I connect and try and use adb devices it doesn't recognise my device, and the cmd window gives the following when I try the sideload command:
Error: device not found.

Sounds like a driver issue to me but it doesn't make sense that the drivers would suddenly stop working ???
Here are screenshots of odd device behaviour when switching from fastboot to recovery (please copy & paste, I don't have enough posts to post images yet):

I can't seem to get sideload to work in TWRP at the moment either. CWM works fine though, try flashing that and use the sideload feature.

Tried that already, same issue in not detecting the device. I'm downloading these drivers in a hope to fix something.
Thanks for the reply
EDIT:
Finally got sideloading in TWRP to work, it turns out it was a driver issue :/
Anyways, these are the drivers that worked:
androidfiles.org/hasoon2000/getdownload.php?file=HTC%20Drivers/HTCDriver.exe
why is everyone always wiping their storage these days? just use CWM next time and you wont accidentally do this again..

TWRP is much better for people who know what they are doing. There are more options and also a built in file manager. Also, the wipe button in TWRP wipes the 3 main partitions at once (data/cache/dalvik), so he must have actually selected internal sdcard from the advanced menu, and I have no idea why he would do that...
Doing the slider is all anyone needs to do in twrp to wipe yet I read more posts about people wiping with twrp than any other problem in these forums
Hello,
yesterday I accidentally deleted the data partition on my phone (M7 model)
I coudn't get adb dideload to work so I bought an usb otg cable.
Now when I try to install a rom (hd android v51) I always get an error after aroma closes:"set_perm: some changes failed)
Can anyone help me installing ANY rom to get my phone working again?
thx
Hey, no worries. Just adb push <nameofrom>.zip /data/media/0/ then it will take some time, when it says its successful just go to that path and flash it like a normal ROM worked for me and I hope it helps you.
Make sure the ROM is in the same folder of adb.
Happy Flashing from the proud owner of a HTC One.
The newer ROMs require latest custom recovery. E.g. ARHD 51 definitely requires it. I had TWRP 2.6.3.1 and had errors and all errors went away using 2.6.3.4

Hi All,
First off please forgive how much of a low level noob I am am at this. I didn't create a backup unfortunately. Now we can get to the good stuff. I have unlocked, s-off, and rooted my phone. Loaded a great GPE rom on there and it was working perfectly fine. While looking for a SU for the Rom so that I could delete some wifi bs I found a the HD rom on this site that I would rather use. Soooo I rooted the rom and used cwm to load up the HD 6.1 rom. After the install, when rebooting, it asked me if I wanted to fix the SU permissions and i clicked yes. Now it is stuck in a boot cycle. When I enter fastboot I can enter commands (no adb detection) I can even flash a different recovery on there and the corresponding logo will flash for a second at the end of each boot cycle. Trying to launch reboot or factory reset will put me into another boot cycle. I have tried using fastboot to load directly into recovery but that freezes the phone 2/3 times. Any help would be greatly appreciated so that I can just go back to the GPE rom i was using and stop screwing around with my phone.

fastboot erase cache
then flash the recovery again (twrp 2.6.3.3 suggested)
then from recovery wipe and adb push or sideload the rom
I was able to get twrp to work by flashing it again, probably the 7th time, and erased the cache. Now I don't think i want to load the same rom that started this but to go back to the GPE version that I had. Is there a way to get this on the internal sd card through fastboot?

Your options are:
1) adb push
2) sideload from TWRP
3) OTG cable from TWRP
Lots of threads for each of these available in Google

I was ablt to get adb to recognize the phone however it lists it as a host. I go into the twrp and do the sideload but it opens up the debug message. adb sideload os.zip is the command I'm using as I renamed the file to os.zip so i don't have to type so much. I tried the adb push but it says error:Closed.

It worked!! Thank you so much. I had tried adb push os.zip /sdcard/ a while ago but it didn't take. by typing the zip name after sdcard i assume that "gives" the file an exact location to be placed?
I'm sorry to do this, but I don't know where to start. Here's what I did to get to where I'm at:
- previously running SlimBean flashed using TWRP
- Downloaded ROM Manager and it recommended installing CWM Recovery
- Followed prompts
- It installed CWM 6.0.4.8
- Booted back into ROM and used ROM Manager to attempt to flash SlimKat 4.4.2 build 6
- CWM wiped dalvik but then got hung up
- Now it keeps saying Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
I'm completely stuck. Can't figure out what to do next. Please help!!!
Have you tryed reflashing the recovery to rule out a faulty install of cwm?
I should say, have you tried reflashing cwm *through Fastboot* to rule out a faulty cwm install?
Use TWRP recovery, preferred is 2.6.3.3 although there are newer versions, enter recovery, wipe - format data, basically for some reason, fastboot erase cache wipes the cache into an un-readable format.
note: this will also erase your internal storage too, so if theres anything important you want on there, make sure you back it up first using the adb pull command.

I can't get it to recognize my devices in order to use ADB. When connected, I type ADB Devices and I don't see anything listed. Is there a way to check I'm doing this ok?

Use the command "fastboot devices" from the bootloader with "fastbootUSB" highlighted. You can't use adb commands in the bootloader because adb is to interact with android, which is not running while in bootloader. Let me know if you get output with the "fastboot devices" command.
EDIT: I should specify, if you are trying to flash recovery from anywhere but the bootloader using fastboot commands (it sounds like you may be trying to flash recovery with adb commands), you are just doing it wrong. so lets get that sorted first.

you flash a custom recovery with fastboot commands not adb commands.
Got it!!! Thank you everyone for taking the time. I have a flight in a few hours and I was panicking!!!!
I grabbed universal drivers from here: download.clockworkmod.[com]/test/UniversalAdbDriverSetup6.msi (remove the brackets around .com)
Then my computer picked up the device and I was able to install TWRP. Clockworkmod recovery still doesn't work, no matter which version I tried. I'll stick with TWRP for now.
Thanks again!
EDIT: Well eff me, it wiped my internal storage. It must have done it after I flashed because that's where I grabbed the zip in the first place. That sucks...

did you format data inside twrp recovery, like I said above, that will erase your internal storage too, you will need to push a rom over to your internal storage now using adb and then flash it.

I didn't do so intentionally, but it's possible I did it without paying attention. I'm back to my system now so I'll just live with the loss. I flashed an existing ROM that I had in my Downloads folder once I was able to get into TWRP. It's just weird that folder is empty now.
