With Motorola releasing the new Droid Ultra series of phones and the X, there's obviously some new, updated OEM Motorola apps now available. As time goes on I'll be adding more apps as I use them and see that they work for us. All my testing will be done on PAC 4.3 Nightlies.

I installed this camera app via cwm but can't find the app. Is there an icon for it or does it replace the stock app?

Thanks.. So just push the apk to system/app and change permissions right?

Doesnt work on stock 4.1.1
I'm not sure why this isn't working. I'll look at it closer when I get home later today. Might have to mount /system manually.... This is just a single apk, no libs or anything else, so a push to /system and setting permissions will get it working.
@skeevydude, is this the same camera as the X? Do I need another app to set permissions (if so, what do you recommend) or is there a setting in PAC that I haven't found?

1. -- Not sure if this is the same as X or not. App??? "adb shell chmod 0644 /system/app/MotCamera.apk" or just "chmod blah" from the terminal -- takes me just as long to tap out the terminal command as it does to tap my way through the filesystem with a gui. Pro Tip: "chmod 0644 /sy*/a*/MotC*"
2. -- Might have to manually mount /system. Meant to get to this yesterday but I woke up and my back was hurting really bad -- it has never hurt like that ever before in my life. Getting old sucks. I feel fine today and it doesn't look like anything important is happening so I'll mess with it in a bit.

How did you get it to work. I flashed it, but that did nothing.
I'm trying my best to get this to install on my atrix hd, but with no luck. Anybody have any advice they can offer? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks
I can't get it either. @skeevydude has been mia recently. I hope everything is okay.
It's a zip to flash in recovery. Make sure to manually mount system first.

Anybody ever get this working?
I did and so simple to get it working too.
1. Extract the camera app using root Explorer file manager.
2. Go to extracted folder
3. Copy or move MotCamera.apk to system/app folder
4. Change permissions to match the attachment
5. Reboot phone

Is there a reason why you can't type up how it's done or at least post a link to a thread that does? Anyone else? I've done very minimal tweeks on android as I think for the most part the device is pretty solid, unlike the days of WM.
I'd really like the black gmail as I imagine is easier on the eyes as someone stated, however I do know about updating through update.zip to flash, though I know nothing of updating an APK file through this method...is it as simple as ZIPing the .apk file and flashing it?
Installed and it works well, but it's just the email list that's black. When you go into a message, it's white. Is this by design?
Jared
You do not need to flash this through ClockworkRecovery.
Just go into your System/App folder using your favorite root manager/root explorer, and replace the Gmail.apk file with the updated black version, then reboot your phone.
Alternately you can uninstall the Gmail apk through Titanium backup, then reinstall the provided black version.
Personally, I replaced the default gmail.apk with the black version in the new Epic Experience rom update, so it automatically replaced itself when flashing...
I'm actually unsure why it was suggested to flash through clockwork recovery, since the file is just a Apk file and NOT a signed zipped file.....
from a epic Galaxy far, far away.
Awesome, we're halfway there now. The only thing left is to figure out how to get those white background/black text emails reversed. Some already come with black background/white text, anyway to fool the app so it thinks they all are like that besides the ones with a colored background? Just brainstorming here, no real danger I hope lol

sorry i just re read the thread and i was wrong. i thought it was flashable with cwm.
so heres a step by step
1. download the apk
2. using sdx app remover or titnaium backup and delete the old gmail (or use root explorer to delete the gmail.apk
3. using root explorer copy the downlaed apk on your sd card.
4. goto system/app and mount the system r/w
5. past the apk here
6. click on the gmail.apk and install
7. reboot

Sounds good, I've been poking around in Conversations.apk(textmessaging)from RAZR and it seems to me that some of the differences in the look of the app are due to system framework not just the app itself. Specifically the backgrounds as i couldn't find them within the app. I am by no means an expert tho so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah. there are some messaging references in the blur-res.apk. can you tell me what the differences are between the Droid 3 and razr messaging apps? Then ill know what to look for. Thanks

well i've only seen the RAZR's text app in a conversation and the big thing seems to be the background. On the DROID3 the background is a light gray and the RAZR has a dark maybe black background.

Here it is, only for odexed systems (Ill put a deodexed one together later). If you still have the original motorola latinIME.apk, you don't need to replace the latinIME.odex, only the .apk. this isnt a flashable zip so just extract it and move the .apk to /system/app/ and overwrite the old latinIME.apk.
Make sure you have correct permissions
Update: Uploaded deodexed version. I havent tested it so let me know if it works.

This is not my work by any means of the word it is AOKP Teams work with the necessary bits from Team STS.
It is just a Repo Sync & Build (hence the name).
This ROM should still be considered BETA - I take no responsibility for anything YOU do to YOUR phone.
"AOKP" (Android Open KANG Project) is a built from source ROM similar to CyanogenMod.
STS-Dev-Team ported it to the BIONIC.
You can visit the AOKP website here:
http://forum.aokp.co/
Their developers include: Roman, Zaphod-Beeblebrox, Whitehawkx, and more.
This port is based off dhacker29 and Hashcode's ICS work for CM9 and it has ALL of the same issues.
DON'T LET GOOGLE RESTORE YOUR SETTINGS WHEN INSTALLING THIS ROM COMING FROM GINGERBREAD
For STS-DEV-TEAM website:
http://sts-dev-team.us.to/
and github / sources are now here:
https://github.com/o...ns/STS-Dev-Team
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR GETTING DATA ENABLED:
New GSM only mode under Settings/Wireless & Networks/More/Mobile Networks/Network Mode/ Select GSM only wait till the screen flashes twice (or it says 4G SIM detected would you like to switch to LTE/CDMA) then switch to LTE/CDMA. Data will come up.
NOTE: OLD Method You may have to dial *#*#4636#*#* (or use Phone Info from the market) and toggle data mode between modes. For me toggling to GSM only till the screen flashes and then back to GSM/CDMA auto (prl) works perfect. It will show data for a sec then flash off and about 30 seconds it will pop up to full data.
ENJOY!
I recommend SafeStrap because you don't want to go unprotected.
You should be doing a data/cache/dalvik wipe before install.

On the other hand, I am very happy with the 3G service I get on this one compared to the other ICS ones I had been testing. It connected right up to 3G and kept the connection without any problems so far. Thanks for fixing that.

In short, the device will display static on the FFC which means it's working, just not working as you would expect it to.

All I've done is compiled sources to bring you these builds. All the heavy lifting is done over at https://github.com/htc-msm8960 - thank those guys, they are working incredibly hard to bring AOSP to this device. I think the list of developers goes something like this: h8rift, intervigil, toastcfh, deck, Flinny, Flemmard, Codeworkx, birdman
That means that any bugs that exist in other AOSP builds will probablacy exist in these builds.

The flashing process moves everything into a folder for you. Normally the /0 folder, but that's coming from an s3

I have corrected the download link and have linked it to the rom download page directly.

downloading and eager to flash dev-host seems to have troubles indeed, my download is supposed to take 20min
does it already have multi window?
Wow this Rom is ridiculously smooth. Keep in mind everyone that you need the latest CWM recovery (http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager) or else you'll get an error during flashing.
The Rom is still lacking some features I've come to love like extended power menu, customisable quick toggles, theme engine, extended desktop, pie controls etc but omni is only 2 weeks old so I am sure this will be an awesome Rom!
camera only shows black and calendar doesn't sync and is not an option in the Google account sync settings. Have yet to find a way to get it working
Calendar started working after I switched to ART so if it's not working for you, too you can try art or try to delete data and cache, then wipe cache and dalvik cache
Titanium backup crashes with art enabled, as others have already reported
is it include multiwindow??
Twrp 6.4.3.0 ?? Do you mean 2.4.3.1 ?

Awesome!
Have you already tried it? The commit still says do not merge, but mainly due to ugly code, is it already stable?
Why am i even asking this? I'm gonna flash either way :silly:
The 3G doesn't seem to be working...any issues with the 3G?

What recovery are you using? and what is version?
I will release a new build with multi window later today. This feature is still experimental but it works most of the time.
3g is working for me . pls check if you can see your APN settings listed correctly in the settings page?

Sweet!
Do you know if OmniRom will eventually get something similar to Cyanogenmod's Nightlies?
I was so close to flashing.... but no PIE.

LMT launcher works but no way to enable an expanded desktop mode as for PA, so you'll have the pie but also the navbar enabled..too mess for me..
Well, if you want to have 4.4, this seems to be the better daily driver right now, PIE is best left to 4.3s
