Yes, sometimes mine goes to landscape and I can not rotate it back... I have to use an app (like browser) to force it back...
Sensor confusion I think.

Hello,
I am wondering which is the best settings for white balance in 4.2.2 stock rom. I dont know whick screen type i have, if thats relevant.
I have a JDC panel. The settings I find best for me are Saturation: 3.5 Hue: 160°
Just play around until you find what's best for you.

It's all based on individual preferences, JDC or Sharp screen and your brightness settings. I have a JDC screen with 25% brightness and find 4.5, 180 as the best setting...YMMV.
Dead Cookies leave no trails...
if you are on 4.2.2
press *#*#7378423#*#* (*#*#SERVICE#*#*)
and under "Service Info" > "Firmware Info" > "Display Plugin" you can see your panel type
Mine is JDC, so it shows panel_id:mdy70
I cant seem to find the option in the new firmware and no one has any input

Settings, Display, Brightness
UN tick Adapt to lighting conditions.
Is that what you wanted?
There was another setting before the 257 update that let you uncheck an option that said something like 'automatic change screen condition to save battery"
I'll just have to reflash the old version to do a screen shot for you guys.

I've posted similar question earlier, but no answer so far. It was called "Optimised backlight" and it was positioned right below "Pulse notification light". It is basically DLS (Dynamic Luminance Scaling) and it is the most annoying power-saving feature in the known universe and I absolutely hate it. It should be a way to disable it with root explorer, but I can't find it in the folder where it was on my Xperia T.

I think I read somewhere that Sony removed it due to it bugging out with some apps.
They should remove it then, not leave us without possibility to turn this crap off.

Yeah. I would think if it doesn't work when on, then they should have disable it and left it off by default.
All other Android phone worked without trying to change this crap.
I love this phone but it's annoying me a lot when reading text that has dark background and graphics.

Hello XDA community.
Me and my best friend have Xperia Z1 for a month now.
We saw some difrence betwen our phones (He have yellowish screen comparing to my White, and also under sunlight i have almost completly black screen, while he have more red color screen).
I did know the name of aplication which can check Who manufacture our display but cant remember.
Can anyone tell me if knows.
Thank you XDA. All the best.

Not too sure on the manufacturer, you could try the service menu.
*#*#service#*#*
As for the tint, if youve unlocked the boot loader (read up about it if you haven't) you can install doom kernel then modify your white balance and then install pimp my xperia from play store and mod it again. You can strike a decent balance using the two of them and you can nearly eliminate the yellow tint. Worth a try.
Just don't forget to research first if the boot loader is still locked.

Unfortunately we got carrier locked bootloaders, so that is not option for us.
That diference dosent bother us at all, we are just curious which company made our LCD panels.
We had similar stuff on Xperia S, where you can actually read who made it, but cant remember the app name :/
Anyway, thank you for your effort
You have to be Rooted and Terminal Emulator.
Here is the Original thread which explain how to do it.

This is mine, Sharp Renesas 1080p video, the other once can be JDC Renesas 1080p video.
Which one is the better one?
BTW, with Terminal Emulator you can check the ID panel even without Root, just type this code
Code:
cd /sys/devices/mdss_dsi_panel
cat panel_id
Hi, thank you for reply.
I tryed with this Un rooted method and it gives me message "access is denied".

I have a yellowish screen too, I'm using these white balance settings, yellow tint is almost entirely gone and it also adds saturation, tell your friend to give it a try.

First, verify if it is a software issue by factory reset and/or flashing a new rom. If that does not work then it's most likely a hardware issue and the only solution to hardware problems is to bring the phone to Sony if you're willing to pay or to a black market area in your city if you wanna pay less, either way the screen replacement won't be cheap and if its not OEM quality might be compromised. Good luck

There's still hope though, if you're phone is under its warranty period then you can just send it in to Sony. Just be sure to unroot the phone and uninstall soft-mods

Thank you.. ? ? ?, I'll go there when I even can't use my screen to tap for writing... Now, im gonna try to forget that 'scrolling notification bar' was exist.. ? ?

I got that cause too.. I thought that was hardwere problem.. So the best solution i used gravity box xposed. And i was activated double tap home to scroll a notification bar
Had the same problem. Did factory reset but the problem was not solved. Unfortunately it is a hardware issue. The phone was still under warranty so I sent it to sony service center. I got it back in three days. They changed the screen and a banch of other things as well. All is working ok now.
