I'm really liking the new ROM, but I am curious what Halo does? Is it just a faster way to launch certain apps? The app says is optimized for Paranoid Android, but I assume you tweaked it to work well with AOIP. Help? Thanks.

Its reads notifications with you whitelist them and can open them in a floating window also you can add up to 6 apps and use them as a shortcut and they will open in a floating window. For example if you was on tube and you got a text you can text that person back without it interfering with your youtube activity.

Nice. I see how to add the apps running in the background, which can send notifications, but how do i get the icon on the homescreen?

Yeah it takes getting use to but its good for multi tasking if you have the need to and it doesnt kill you last activity which is nice about floating windows because it just overlays over your current activity

Well this one isn't so difficult but I though I'd share for those that have not worked it out yet.
The LG Device Test "HiddenMenu" is apparently on all shipping phones and it's simply disabled via removing the menu entry.
To activate you need to create a shortcut to this hidden menu. You can do this with most replacement launchers and apps like BetterCut.
Example using LauncherPro (others will use a similar method):
Long press on home screen
Select Shortcuts
Select Activities
Scroll down to and expand com.lge.hiddenmenu
Select HiddenMenu (first entry)
Enter Shortcut name
Click on shortcut to launch
Hit 'Thanks' below
Also now Logcat app:
As above
Scroll down to and expand LG Debug
Select LG Debug (first entry)
Enter Shortcut name
Click on shortcut to launch
Hit 'Thanks' below
Enjoy the vast amount of options and tests in there, and be careful as some are destructive.
Perhaps Useful:
Dim Capacitive Buttons: Device Test | Touch LED Brightness
Turn on Camera LED: Device Test | Camera Test | Torch Flashlight Preview
Wtf I just dimmed my touch buttons nice.
The brightess of the buttons was to bright for using the phone as a ebook reader at night the setting stays avyive even after exiting the test.
Btw is the thanks button only displayed on the site and not in tge xda app?
Thanx!

Only thing for me left to do is Root, No adds and delete couple of apps.
And try to fix the Lock screen lag when you power on screen.

What specifically is that? I use WidgetLocker and don't experience lag... does it taker a while with the stock one to become responsive? I can't recall that.

I'm also frustrated about the lack of dim option as standard in the phone.

Sometimes it goes to homescreen and then the lockscreen, when it's been idle for some time.
It also happens with widget locker for me.

I experience the same issue, but even more annoying, it keeps displaying unread messages on the lockscreen until i reboot.
I'm using Handcent, guess the lockscreen gets the unread count from the original messaging app. If anyone know of a fix, please do share.
Hi alls. For those experiencing some nagging issues like lag or bugginess, are your phones rooted to Gingerbread or...? Thanks!
No, rooted stock froyo 2.2.2 in my case.
Gingerbread isn't out yet :-(

Gulp, I'm new at this... I wonder if after its rooted will these issues be solved? IDK, maybe it's the LG UI?

Yeah could be. Did anyone try to delete all the LG apk's and see if the stock lockscreen is the same??

I don't think I get the former, but certainly dodgy behaviour immediately after boot.
I have started getting the message count now when the stock screen flashes up. It seems to count all messages, read or otherwise.
Perhaps somebody can start a confirmed & common bugs thread in General for a good collection of them.
Some more:
I can't use a long complex password to connect to a WiFi-G AP, but a simple password works just fine.
Music controls return to notification shade sometimes after a reboot, box in Music app is still unchecked.

No problems with the above and lock screen, I'm using Launcher pro and Pattern lock.
These are bugs i'm experiencing:
[Not realy a bug but a LG feature]Multiple exchange accounts disabled in LGemail app. Resolved by using the Android mail client and freezing LGemail (thanks for that ).
Camera brightness not listening to "auto" brightness, but uses the manual settings. Maybe it`s just me, but can somebody check the brightness of the camera app after setting the brightness to minimal and then check "Auto".

Very small, well made, free, good looking.
I like this one https://market.android.com/details?id=com.colinmcdonough.android.torch
Super simple, light weight and works well on Note.
I prefer the one in quick settings. Easy to get to and works well.

"Quick Settings" is an app in the market. You can have it reside in the notification panel, and open it from there. The top right of the window shows a flashlight icon. That can be either configured for the LED light, or the screen.
Why don't you use the flashlight widget on the phone by default? It has 3 settings and it's really convenient. I use it all the time.
I never seen Flash light widget by default on Note. At least not on my Note, there isn't one in list of Widgets to add by default.
Or is it hidden somewhere?

In the list of recent apps in ICS, I know you can close each one on the last one at a time by sliding the item to the left or right. Is there a way to close all of them at once?

That's not what I'm asking.
Long clicking on the Home button brings up a list of recently used applications. They don't have to be active to show up in the list. You can swipe each one to remove it from the list. I want to clear the list all at once.

I searched and found some answers for tablets but not the atrix hd.
Anyone use a particular program to hide the menu/status bar on the bottom of screen? It would be nice to have a full screen when gaming or video etc.. perhaps something that just hides and then reappears when you slide side screen or something.
Any custom ROMS that have this built in?
THX
This is Paranoid Android, a custom ROM. I believe this what you're looking for. In the second screenshot, the notification center is replaced with those lines, swiping all the way to the right shows notifications, while swping all the way to the left shows quick settings. Anymore help let me know

PAC, Paranoid, and CM all have that feature....in fact, any rom with PIE has that option. Its called Expanded Desktop. There are also apps on the market that have that feature as well, but I gotta recommend just using a rom with that feature built in.
Thanks Guys.. Will check them out
If you're using stock android.
Use GMD gesture or fullscreen!

download a programe called full nexus 4. it can give you thr full screen...
PimpMyRom does that and lots of awesome stuff, try that out.
I'm running Pure Nexus, and it's not been updated in a while, so I know it's not the rom, but I've not been able to find what app is now causing this "block blue light" setting to appear on my notification pulldown menu. I really don't like these new stuff being added without my knowledge.
Edit I think I found it, my Buzz Launcher was the culprit.

That's mostly true. It's true that I installed it, but when I installed that app, it didn't have that "feature" at the time...and there was no notice that that feature had been added, other than it just appearing on my notification pulldown. It's not the first time I've run across new updates adding major adds, for example the ES App Locker fast charging lock screen add.

Long Press on the notification, it should give you the silence/info buttons after a moment. Click the info (i) button, it should open the app info page for that app.
