[Q] Google Edition Rom Question - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hi, i'm a noob to android so sorry if this is worded wrong or has already been answered. I was wondering why the sprint htc one cannot use the 4.3 Google Play edition ROM located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2341395
Will the Sprint HTC One ever be able to run the google edition ROM's or am i stuck with Sense? I searched about it but could not find a straight answer. Thanks

There are many AOSP-based ROMs floating around in the development section, but you should look into the differences between CDMA/GSM devices. Essentially, the way that data is laid out inside Sprint's version of the HTC One (as well as hardware differences) make flashing a GSM ROM a bad idea-- the system simply won't be usable.
Bottom line, not natively, you'll have to wait for a port.

[Q] Dev Edition Vs Regular Edition

Hi all...
If developers develop roms and mods and whatnot for the dev edition would those same mods work on a regular edition of the HTC one...
This is my biggest concern if i were to buy the HTC one. also is this thing rooted yet? I cant seem to see any "rooting guides"
I may hold off on buying this thing for a month in hopes a great rom such as CM or PA comes to the HTC one... Here's hoping.
thanks for any info given!
All info about rooting, installing CWM etc you can find here

[Q] Attempting to restore HTC One to stock

Hi guys,
I've recently bought myself a 2nd hand HTC One, I had to unlock it from EE(UK) to make it accept the use of my o2(UK) sim.
I then decided that I wanted to try rooting it to have a look at different ROMs, because I had never tried tinkering with my previous android phones. Having experimented with a couple, I have decided I would like to restore my phone to stock because I am missing the use of one app in particular, HTC TV, not to mention I don't like the way to get to comma's on the Google keyboard. However, in my enthusiasm for trying out rooting and custom ROMs I failed to make a backup of my stock ROM, I know, I can look back at that mistake and think "I deserve a slap", however that is why I am here, looking for different options.
My HTC One is currently running on Cyanogen Mod 10.1.2.
I have browsed a number of threads but I couldn't find myself a satisfactory answer to my particular issue.
I ran into my first problem when attempting to find the RUU for my device, I cannot find an RUU for version 2.24.61.2 (Orange), apparently it has not been released yet.
I then read some threads for any ways to revert to an earlier RUU, such as HTC Europe 1.28.401.7, and there were threads detailing how to do it, however they required that you get S-OFF on your HTC one, the most effective way of doing this is using Revone, however my Hboot is running on version 1.54 which seemingly makes it impossible to S-OFF with Revone.
I have tried finding a 3rd party IR Remote app for my HTC One, but most of the ones I have found on the app store are either rubbish in comparison to HTC TV, are designed specifically for Samsung devices, or, in the case of Smart IR Remote, no longer developed. I should also note that I downloaded the 1.3.1 version and pushed it to my HTC using adb push, but the app kept crashing and I un-installed it out of frustration.
If I have missed anything glaringly obvious to a more experienced developer, I apologise, but I have searched for a good day for solutions based on my current knowledge before writing this post.
If anyone could please point me to a good thread that could deal with at least a good number of my issues it would be much appreciated, or if anyone could give me any answers to my problems listed above, I would love you long time.
If you require any more details don't hesitate to let me know.
Cheers. :good:
Mr Splat
why not flash a sense based rom like viperone or arhd
I was thinking of that, but I wasn't entirely sure that flashing to a sense based ROM was what what I needed. I thought Cyanogenmod was a sense-based ROM, however I'm going to now I assume I may have made an epic blunder and not read the description of Cyanogenmod properly.
I'll try a flash and then I'll come back and let you know if I have got HTC TV back onto my One.

Just a quick question, I take it that the arhd 4.3 release is unsuitable as the google edition comes without htc tv?
I must also ask, having stated in my OP, my current software build is 2.24.61.1, the ahrd 4.2.2 page says that it's build is 2.24.401.8, is that not an issue?
Not sure on the ge version of arhd have never ran it but there is a 4.3 sense version of arhd that will work most sense based roms have HTC tv app and your software build won't make a difference

aha! Thanks a lot! I believe arhd 20.1 was the version I was after!
Cheers Jerry, many thanks.
No problem

[Q] HTC One Sprint (M7_WL)

Hi Guys,
I have been trying to find the information through out quite a few different threads. I keep finding threads that list "compatible with all variants except Sprint (until 4.2.2 is released)", however if I understand what that is saying correctly it's mentioning anything over Android 4.2.2 would work (ie Android 4.3). Unfortunately I have been out of the rooting/flashing game for about 2years and the last one I had was the Evo3D so I don't think I had this variants problem back then. I have already unlocked my bootloader (htcdev method) and as far as I know i've rooted it (CWM Recovery and SU), so as far as I know the ROM is the next step.
Are there any ROMs (preferably Android 4.3) that are compatible with the sprint HTC One?
Thank you guys so much for any info and suggestions you guys can throw my way.

Sprint user here, Ive been running elegancia for some time now, excellent rom. Find it in Android Developement in this forum. Q/A would have been a better place for this question bro. Hope this helps ya man.
Oh sorry. Like I said it's been a long while since I last dove deep into these forums. Thank you so much for the tips guys. I was really starting to get frustrated and thought I was just screwed. Thanks again guys.

Will I be able to use the viperone Rom and a custom kernal with viperone so I can use the HTC logo as a 3rd button. Excuse my lack of knowledge. I have always used ios and just said he'd over to droid and coukdnt be happier.

Best place to be would be in the viper one thread. Afaik there are issues with Sprint, as i said though, that is the best place to ask.
So long as you are in a position to flash a rom, obtaining one with the ability to use the HTC logo as a menu key shouldn't be too much of a hassle.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334294
There are generally less roms available for Sprint phones due to the use of CDMA (Verizon & Sprint) 3G technology as opposed to GSM (AT&T & TMo). There are parts of CDMA that make it harder to make roms for the phones until they release all their sources, which carriers are very slow at doing.

He can't post there yet, as he hasn't got 10 posts. Seems like this is overlooked all too easily

Not yet, but you could have found the answer to that question in the very first post of the Viper ROM thread ...

With custom kernels that is no problem at all.

Converting HTC G1 into Android Dev Phone?

So yeah, just curious if it's possible, completely! I have a T-Mo HTC G1 and I was curious if I could convert it and all, since I searched but couldn't find anything specific about that. Thanks!
Flash rom hehe
