A story most of you would appreciate (or empathize with).
I ordered two 16GB Nexuses on Tuesday the 27th and paid for expedited shipping (so, +$3.00 or something fairly insignificant), and spent all of Friday waiting for UPS to ring my unit and bring me my phones. They finally do at 6:50pm; my phone rings, I buzz the guy into my building (I was at a restaurant nearby) and lo and behold, what happens? Minutes later my tracking page says receiver was unavailable and that they'll try again Tuesday!!!
On top of it all, I couldn't pick it up that night and they were closed that Saturday because of the long weekend, meaning I couldn't get my toys until today (I know, I know, #firstworldproblems).

I ordered mine on the 30th, also with the expedited shipping. UPS says they will be here the 5th, coming from one state over. It feels like it's taking forever, I can't wait to run away from Sprint and their dropping calls left and right out of nowhere.

It's very nice! I've left it stock for the moment, but I'm really missing the simple yet effective customization in CyanogenMod (Torch, quiet time, and battery meter, to name three) so I don't know how long I'll last.
The only thing I'm not terribly happy about, coming from AMOLED displays, is that the IPS colors seem downright anemic. It's more than making it up to me in 1280x768 smoothness, though
This is my first Nexus phone but second Nexus device (I have a 2012 N7).

The options you miss like torch, quite times and battery meter are all plenty available in Play bro. Like for instance Battery Widget Reborn and Silent Sleep.

I can really recommend franco kernel as far as kernels go. It improves battery life immensely. (going from 3h30 screen on time to 6h-kind of improvement). It definitely made my nexus 4 go from a great device to an amazing one.

Enjoy, I purchased one.
I did too: €56,83 including delivery to the UK from Expansys France. Some reviews (at least in French) say it is a female watch. Looks quite big and male too me. We shall see.
With an name like "evening classic" one would get the impression it is a women's watch. However from the pictures it certainly looks like a mens watch to me.
Got it now - looks male and big but the wrist strap is too short

Yea I had the same problem, it fit on the last hole. Also the display on mine faded to where you can't see it in the first night. Is yours still working?
I guess all the functions work with the PLAY? (I have small wrists, this would be good!)

With the openwatch program everything worked great, its just that the display quit in less then 12 hours.
Had mine for 3 days, does not seem to have any problems with the screen or battery but maybe because i haven't discharged it yet. Vibrates and shows messages on the screen so the display was used only limited number of times. Hope it won't fade quickly as paid more money to replace the wrist band.

Now, unless things are THAT much different between the US and the EU, I would think those 2 lines would be a dead give-away that this was intended to be a Ladies' watch.
That would explain the wrist band being so small, as well.

Too bad I already asked for it for Christmas. Also I mean the damn thing is huge compared to a normal ladies watch, and the design is similar to any mens watch, so would it really be that bad for a man to wear?
EDIT: I looked up the other 2 watches in the lineup and they are very obviously Women's in design....
Don't worry it is huge and doesn't look female. Strap is too short for big wrist however. Battery on mine is only one third down after more than five days use. Some report it last only hours but redoing Bluetooth connection from scratch seems to fix it for them. No led problems on mine yet. I was surprised to keep in car Bluetooth connection despite watch being connected to phone all the time.

I've got the MBW150 Music Edition and the MBW200 Evening Classic. The 200 does look more feminine but it's nothing that can't be solved by switching to a more manly band. There is a tiny crystal at the 12 o'clock position but no one will ever judge it on that alone.
The 150 was available in Classic, Executive, and Music editions with leather, metallic link, and rubber wrist bands respectively. I don't think the name implies what gender it is for.
Btw on first charge it lasted 7 days and a bit. On second charge it is only 1/3 discharged after almost 10 days. Connected to the phone all the time.

I got the 200 for Christmas today, I have to say looking at it, it does have a bit of a feminine look to it, but that goes right out the window when you see the digital display. I showed my family who thought it was one of the craziest things they ever saw (they are easily impressed). It works great so far, all the functions are good. Also I have small wrists so the band works for me.
I did disconnect it from my phone since its now sitting in my watch box, and I likely won't leave it connected all the time as I won't be wearing it except at work or when I go out. Don't want to destroy it when I'm working on the car or something.
Well this sucks. After 15 days it stopped turning on even though the battery said it still had half its juice left. So i plugged it in, charged it, and it will charge, but as soon as I disconnect the charger its dead as a rock.
They are taking mine on return exchange, but their site no longer lists it, I have a feeling I'm getting a refund.

So pretty much I ordered my nexus 7 right when it was announced, and due to a shipping error Google wanted another 8 weeks to get it to me from release so I canceled my order. Being the impatient idiot that I am I went and bought a new one off eBay. I am aware of the screen separation issue and it seems that it is affecting my unit on the left side of the screen. It annoys me a bit but I'll live. But my question is will the screen separation slowly get worse and spread? I haven't found a very clear answer.
I would say yes. Mine was 100% fine when I got it, 11 days ago and now has lift and creaking. Seems not as responsive. Sounds like bad first batch

I got 2 defective N7's....returned them. My plan is to wait until the 2nd "batch" with no defects. Maybe in few months, I will try again.
You should probably return and do what I (and many others), are doing. Wait.
My thinking was, I paid $275 for this, and its defective. Did I come looking for a perfect tablet? Yes. Not a defective one. Its really your call, but I can tell you the problem won't get any better.
Cheers
Mine was just noticeable on day one, within days the screen was visibly moving just by handling the tablet.
So there is every chance it will get worse so I would say get it replaced.
By the same token, there is every chance a replacement will have the same problem and just as much chance that you will get a perfect unit that develops a fault later on.
Suppose it's down to what yo are prepared to put up with.
Personally, if it turned out every unit in the world had a problem I would live with it and just try to find a fix but knowing that there ARE perfeclt good units out there makes it harder to live with.
I'm planning on getting a warranty from squaretrade for the tablet. Mine is fine but just in case something develops down the line I like to have peace of mind
Eh. $40 for a $200 device seems a little much.
kinda off topic but
my screen started something very strange today..
it has these little lines about 1/2 inch long running up and down it at random locations. It looks kinda like some type of render tearing. When you twist the tablet from side to side they kinda glow then go away. They look off shades of the colors being produced by those pixels.. I just noticed this thread and thought i would post here instead of starting another Thread.. Hope you do not mind.
Its so faint i cant get a picture of it at all. Sorry about this.. My question is has anyone ever seen anything like this.. It reminds me of the grid if code on matrix but its not that bad . its always at the same position until you power off then they are right back but different / random locations. They are not lined up in any way except it runs same directing. vertically

In the meantime, if anyone has any advice on what to check for within the 14 day return period, i would appreciate it.

Thanks guys.
The back button did seem a bit off to me; I thought maybe it was me not touching it correctly. Then came on here and read the thread about the update which seems to have fixed it.
I read about the microscopic gaps in the Anandtech review, but I'm not sure if I can see any gaps with my eyes.
Will check on the others and see if I find anything amiss.
After you did all of the above, go and take pictures and video's at night. Go meet Zoe. Watch a video with volume all the way up. Blast some tunes through a good set of headset. Then report back.
One of my biggest fears with this phone (if I upgrade next month, or the month after), is that a little after I upgrade, the main backing devs (the few that actually created new stuff rather than repackage old stuff), will flip their switch to the new phone almost immediately, and then leave this phone in the dust. I mean, I know that is inevitable for almost any phone. But, to me, when I got the Epic 4G Touch, it seemed as if right when the S3 was released, there was a limbo period where no new astounding material came out, and then all focus shifted away from CM9 to CM10.1. Maybe it is just a personal fear, but, still one that I would like to bring up.
No that shouldn't happen many of these have been sold we already have official cm 10.1 slim bean and unofficial aokp and some touchwiz Roms development is not slowing down anytime soon.

I upgraded yesterday from my galaxy nexus. i wanted to wait but said f it...
i'm telling myself i want to wait a good while before i root this one but the dam root bug is gnawing at me :silly:
Any time you get a new device their will always be something newer and hotter around the corner its just the way it is, I just upgraded from the lte over the weekend because most developers had moved on to either the s4 or the one
If you currently have the e4gt, there is a few improvements and one step back as far as I've seen. Bigger screen, higher resolution, better stock battery life, and higher resolution camera. Cons: the e4gt camera, even though it is less megapixel and f-stop than the s4, it takes brighter pictures in low light and even the daytime without a flash. Some think that the pictures on the e4gt look washed out compared to the s4. I don't agree. I posted a few pictures of the same thing with each phone in the pictures thread. It is clearly noticeable that the e4gt has brighter pictures even when both phones are set at the same resolution and mode. I know I will get flamed but the pictures speak for themselves. As for should you upgrade? If you have lte in your area, you'll get better network performance than wimax. My speedtest.net speed run best so far is 32.79 megabits per second on the s4. I was excited to get the phone, but after the first day or two, the hype was greatly exaggerated in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's a good top of the line phone, just not a night and day difference over the s2. Do more research to determine if what the s4 has to offer is what you're looking for.

Knowing we're usually last in line (sprint) for updates, it might be a month or two if I had to guess a time frame.

I figured that. And that's still worth waiting to be able to update right away. Rather than rooting, getting a custom rom. Getting all my stuff set up just right, then the update comes out. I'd be upset. Then have to wait for the custom roms to update too.
Upgrade. My experience with this phone so far is amazing.
use the upgrade, phone has been awesome and since you are on xda you will most like root and rom it. There are already plenty of different roms out there you can play with, so much fun

Apologies in advance, I could not post proper links for this review due to my low post count.
Background
I ordered a Nexus 10 on November 20th, 2012. Initially, I was pleased by the battery life (~6.5 hours). Probably a bit like the "Boiling Frog" metaphor, the battery life degraded and I didn't notice it. I began to notice the battery degradation recently when my tablet began doing the 0% battery shutdown at ~30%.
First thing I did was get on the phone with Google, to see if I could get them to warranty the battery. Being a couple of months out of warranty, I wasn't expecting it to work, but it couldn't hurt. Denied. So, I called Samsung. After two hours and 8 different technical support phone numbers, they couldn't recognize my tablet serial number. I'm guessing it was unrecognized (which is no excuse, by the way) because I bought it on the Google Play Store. Besides all that, they didn't recognize the product name, kept calling it strange stuff like Nexus 10.1 or Nexus Note. They told me they would research and return my call at a later time.
My Nexus 10 is a daily driver with a minimum of 3 hours of use a day and often over 6. After impatiently waiting a few days, I began to panic. I began to believe that I had paid ~$500 for a device that, after a few more cells died, was going to be an expensive brick. I did some research and could find NO reviews on the NewPower99 battery kit, and since I felt that my options were relatively few, I decided to take the plunge.
Kit Contents and Cost
Ordered from Amazon for $75.41 (shipping and taxes included)
1 Cameron Sino 9000 mAh 33.3Wh Lithium-Polymer Battery Pack
One tiny screw screwdriver
Two tiny plastic prying tools
One plastic video disk (Not sure what it does, they special players can spin it fast and a video will play(!!??))
The Replacement and Pitfalls
Rather than using the included plastic video disk, I searched YouTube until I found the video: NewPower99 by NewLife2OldStuff. It's a great primer for this battery replacement, but there are a few parts where the disassembler's chubby fingers get in the way of disconnecting connectors. I suggest watching a few other Nexus 10 teardown videos prior to the actual teardown.
Prior to this, I had not attempted any mobile device disassembly/assembly. I did break a little insulation on the video card connector on the main board but this is due to me only watching the NewPower99 video and missing a detail (pull the display cable rather than flip the connector). Also due to how delicate the internals are, I did not push the display connector in far enough, which led to the display power being spotty. So, I had to redisassemble the tablet a few days later and reconnect it. Had I done more research and been a bit more patient, I'm sure the replacement would have been flawless.
The aftermath
My tablet has not yet exploded. As a matter of fact, one week in, I'm amazed. I've fell back in love with my tablet. Since the battery replacement, I usually don't need to charge until the end of the day. I run a conservative brightness on the display and, of course, that helps. Also, while I've done no metrics, I believe I've seen an unintended improvement: the charge time has improved. It was not unusual for me to plugin during sleep and still not have a full charge in the morning, which I haven't seen happen since battery replacement.
At a later time, I intend to respond to this post with an unscientific update on the battery's life. If the battery life stays relatively the same, I wouldn't really mind yearly replacement at this battery's warranty limitation and probably expected minimum life. Small price to pay for great battery life and a very underrated tablet.
Also, Samsung did, finally, return my support call a few days ago but I never called back. Don't call me, I'll call you .
Light Statistics (screenshots below)
~11:46 battery time
~6:45 display on time (top battery user)
~1:45 RetroArch (runner up top battery user)
These aren't really shabby for this tablet. Non-scientifically: the display was at ~25% brightness (in-house usage) >95% of the time, and never went below that. ~3-5% of the time the display was 100% (outdoors).
Program usage was an ordinary day of tablet use.
Not going to lie this is quite an informative post since the battery went bad over the course of a year later... I don't use my tablet as much as I first used to, but with all this android tech talk and new phones coming out at this time I use it more than I normally have (and also for the room 2 love that game!). I will definitely subscribe to this post so I have it handy if/when my battery starts doing the same thing as well in due time.
Thanks for this thread. My tablet has been going to 0% when it reaches 15%. So I've been looking to get a replacement battery. Cheers mate.

If google is NOT going to support having replaceable batteries, and there are no 3rd party options, we are all simply buying disposable electronics... its ridiculous.
Right now it is out of stock everywhere and there are 2 shady listings on ebay. Extremely disapointed with this.

I am going through this right now! I am not sure if I should buy from the sketchy eBay listings or what. I tried NewPower99 but claim to have none in stock due to a production issue. It is almost as if Samsung went after the 3rd party that made the battery so they could not sell it. My tablet is out of warranty and I have no idea what to do as its worth nothing to trade in and I don't have the $$$ for a new tablet. If anyone has any suggestions or bought a replacement battery and hasn't used or opened it and would be willing to part with it I may be interested in buying.

I am having the same problem. Nobody has the battery. So I finally found something on Alibabba and ordered it straight from china for something like $35 (through a friend's account, so I don't have the details at the moment). I expect it will take at least a month to get here. I hope it works and lasts, cheap batteries rarely work out very well in the long term.... but what choice do I have? This is a $500 tablet that is not that old! It now powers down at 70% battery, usually less than an hour playing a game
I went ahead and ordered the nexus 10 battery off of Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/261555419335?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
I'll let you know my results with it.
EDIT: Will I also need to purchase special tools to install it?

Just a (size 0?) phillips (you can pull off the cover to see the screw size). If it fits one, it'll fit all you need to get it pulled off. :good:
Somewhat offtopic, I might end up getting the new Nexus tablet, regardless. The center of my screen has started getting a brown burn-in color, most visible when the screen is white. Which is quite a shame, this tablet is still plenty peppy for me (it's my fastest development device), and have no other problems with the device at all (the battery still shines). The monitor life was probably accelerated by the high sleep time (10 or 30 minutes, don't remember which one) since it's a development machine I keep it on between compiles so it's there when I need it. :crying:
