Keyboard keeps switching back to stock - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This is the first time I've ever had a problem like this. No matter which keyboard I try (I've tried with SwiftKey, Swype and Minuum Beta), the default keyboard keeps switching back to the stock one. It happens anytime the phone has been asleep long enough, so it's not just when I reboot. It happens many, many times throughout the day. Anyone have any clue as to what's going on?

Haha, as if I never thought of that. Looks like Greenify was the problem. All is good now. Thanks!

[Q] tapatalk/xda premium apps

Is there a thread for these two apps? Ever since they released the new UI for these 2 apps I've had nothing but force close issues on startup. It never fails. It will open and look fine but as soon as I open a thread or start to scroll down it force closes. But the strange part is I can reopen the app immediately and it works fine. It does not matter which device I use. For awhile I thought it was because I was rooted but now I have an HTC one still haven't rooted or modified it in any way and still having the exact same issue. I have been reporting this crash since the day the update came out. I'm losing more and more respect with tapatalk with each update.
If this will not be fixed any time soon what are your opinions on a good alternative app?
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I use both apps and dont have that problem.
I imagine you tried to uninstall both and wipe and re install.
Yea.. I have 3 phones and it happens on all three devices. Optimus G, HTC one, and galaxy s4.

Had that issue for a while, certain threads would kill the app every time. Haven't noticed it in a while though. I do have issues with trying to access the sprint one main thread through the favorites screen, where it just goes blank. No other major issues though. XDA premium, btw.
Sent from my beige box using xda premium
Are all these threads in sprint htc one?
Thats the only section im in right now and I just have never had an issue
For me it's the default screen. The notifications screen. It will display that screen but as soon as I tap an article (which yea it happens to be most sprint HTC one threads the app will shut down but I can immediately reopen the app and use every feature without an issue. But as soon as I turn my screen off or use another app or wait a bit before using xda premium or tapatalk it does it again..

It got worse with the 4.3 update. I'm having to use the old free version of the xda app.. from the looks of it after reading around a lot of other people are having the same issue. Is there a thread we can report these issues to? I've been reporting on every crash since I updated the app. With this "crashes upon first startup ###" the numbers are the amount of times I've reported the same crash. I'm at 167.

Issues with the XDA app

This morning, my XDA app is acting crazy. When I click on a post, it gives me the options for the post before it, so if I click on my own post to edit it, it gives me the options for the post before mine. Is this happening to anyone else?

Can someone help with this issue? I can barely make any posts which is frustrating.

Not having that issue. But responding to xda notifications causes the app to FC. Root de la Vega rooted my N3 if that makes any difference. Try re-installing the app.

I have lost the ability to post multiple pictures. Wiping cache and data for app didn't help. Will reinstall and see if it fixes issue.

I have reinstalled it several times, but it doesn't work. The interesting thing is that this issue began just last night. Any other suggestions?

OP, I suddenly started having this issue over a week ago. It's so bizarre, I never had the issue before and I didn't change anything. I also have tried reinstalling without any luck.
I'm at a loss, I don't know what else to do.

I'm using the paid version. No problems other than what I posted above. Maybe its not your device that's the problem. Maybe its the xda servers. I'm just guessing.

Just use tapatalk instead.
Why would I use tapatalk when the XDA app worked perfectly fine until when it started having issues?

It's been happening to me as well. And no I don't want to use Tapatalk.
I've noticed that every time something goes wrong the first suggestion is to try something else instead of solving the actual problem. With my video stuttering issues someone suggested to stream videos at 480p instead of 720 or 1080. Yea that's why I got a 700 dollar phone for so I can stream at quality that's been around since 1997.
Back on topic, I've noticed that if you click next to the name of the op of the post you want to quote or reply to it picks the correct one as opposed to the one above it. Still, it's an issue that needs to be resolved.
I'm not bragging, just informing. I am not having any selection problem with this app. I have tried using the spen and my finger, touching anywhere in a post. I even tried along the border between posts and it selected the correct post every time.
I'm sorry you guys are havjng this irritating problem. Does it happen anywhere else? N1 had a screen sensitivity problem with spen that required an outside app to recalibrate the screentouch.

Temp fix: if you tap on the post itself will select the post above making difficult to quote the last post. Now, look at the post and you'll see on the left the user name and on the right the time the post was posted. If you tap on the time will select it right and not the one above it
Edit: just like Techweed said, sorry didn't read your post, I did this couple days ago already.

The last time I went to XDA through an app I used Tapatalk instead of XDA because I already use Tapatalk for all the other forums. I did buy the XDA app to support XDA, I just don't like keeping so many different apps all for forums. I found that the Tapatalk app doesn't crash when I browse on it, if you wanted to try that?
i've noticed that it crashes when you are giving to many inputs i.e. tapping too much. If you avoid this, the app works well.
There is also an issue of tap detection. when i try to reply to someone i have to tap on the post below the one desired. :/ but it doesnt crash the app... so thats a plus right?

Appreciate it. Yeah, I've never quite gotten used to Facebook, still keep forums I've been on for years.... Tapatalk is a really nice way to organize them all. The only thing that drives me nuts is that when you go to download a file off of a forum it opens a browser which kind of disrupts the flow, but I think XDA app did the same thing. That would be a tremendously useful thing for the XDA app to do is manage XDA downloads, but for all I know it does that now, I haven't used the XDA app in awhile. These ATT ROMs are around a gig sometime... Hell to download on a mobile phone just because so many things seem to be able to break the download. And the download managers seem to hiccup sometimes with the site that are primarily used for hosting, don't know why.
I bought the xda premium app a couple years ago to show my support. But it does suck on this phone. Doesn't show pictures corectly. The search function is not very helpful. When I open it if it's been in the the background for a while it won't connect to the server to refresh. I have to close it and open it again. Also when leaving the app the animation lags really bad. I always thought it ironic that the XDA app was so buggy lol
**side note- I don't know the first thing about making apps or how hard they are to debug and make run smoothly on all devices. So I'm not hating. Just throwing it out there...

Need identification/diagnostic help. (Battery)

My GE HTC One has been having horrible battery life the last few days. Android System and Mediaserver have been slaughtering my battery within an hour and i want to know why. My possible thoughts are
Snapchat +Keepchat xposed extension (it saves all snaps to your internal mem)
Or settings issue?
Im exhausted and was hoping someone could give me advice to wake up to and try out tomorrow.
(BTW, its not partial wakelocks (caused by apps) because i got an xposed app that lets you disable wakelocks per app, and i knocked out any indecent wakelocks).
All help will be thanked!!!

about all I can suggest is that you wipe everything and flash the rom with stock kernel.
add apps one at a time and you should be able to work out what's using your battery.
I quit using snapchat and keepchat, it helped alot.

So ive been doing some reading, and apparently android 4.4.2 (across all devices) has a bug causing 100% cpu and battery to be diverted to the camera once an app has opened it. Google is aware, and working on a update. Should restore things to the way they were normally
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Not all devices, just those where the camera uses a Qualcomm chipset, such as the Nexus 5.
Google releases software updates to the Nexus 5. They do not release updates to the HTC One, HTC does. Even for the GPE.

Wi-Fi won't stop turning on after root. Any ideas?

I updated to the first ota of kitkat when it went live and really didn't like it, so I downgraded to the first firmware, then accepted ota til I was back to 3.05.651.6, and now my Wi-Fi won't stay turned off no matter what settings I have chosen, and it won't respond to BatteryGuru like it used to before the whole mess.
Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing it or how to fix it?
