Need identification/diagnostic help. (Battery) - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My GE HTC One has been having horrible battery life the last few days. Android System and Mediaserver have been slaughtering my battery within an hour and i want to know why. My possible thoughts are
Snapchat +Keepchat xposed extension (it saves all snaps to your internal mem)
Or settings issue?
Im exhausted and was hoping someone could give me advice to wake up to and try out tomorrow.
(BTW, its not partial wakelocks (caused by apps) because i got an xposed app that lets you disable wakelocks per app, and i knocked out any indecent wakelocks).
All help will be thanked!!!

about all I can suggest is that you wipe everything and flash the rom with stock kernel.
add apps one at a time and you should be able to work out what's using your battery.

I quit using snapchat and keepchat, it helped alot.

HEY HEY HEY. ITS NEITHER SNAPCHAT OR KEEPCHAT.

So ive been doing some reading, and apparently android 4.4.2 (across all devices) has a bug causing 100% cpu and battery to be diverted to the camera once an app has opened it. Google is aware, and working on a update. Should restore things to the way they were normally

Not all devices, just those where the camera uses a Qualcomm chipset, such as the Nexus 5.
Google releases software updates to the Nexus 5. They do not release updates to the HTC One, HTC does. Even for the GPE.

Anyone has a good experience with this app? Or is it the same as the power save mode that the one has?

It does more than that. It is also like Sprint Connection manager to switch to WiFi when available. I ran it for a week on my EVO 3D and didn't notice any improvement.
Used it on my evo LTE before getting my One and it worked extremely well but since putting it on my One I don't see it helping as much as it did on my evo
and it gss had several updates since then. In my opinion use it yourself and see if it helps

Would this be recommended over battery doctor or juice defender?
Here is another new app

I use it with greenify. They work really well together.

I recommend it. I find it gives me 20% longer life! That being said it really depends on your usage patterns

Keyboard keeps switching back to stock

This is the first time I've ever had a problem like this. No matter which keyboard I try (I've tried with SwiftKey, Swype and Minuum Beta), the default keyboard keeps switching back to the stock one. It happens anytime the phone has been asleep long enough, so it's not just when I reboot. It happens many, many times throughout the day. Anyone have any clue as to what's going on?

Haha, as if I never thought of that. Looks like Greenify was the problem. All is good now. Thanks!

Sorry for bumping... But I had the exact same problem until I googled it and found this thread. Thank you so much! That was a anoying problem

[Q] tapatalk/xda premium apps

Is there a thread for these two apps? Ever since they released the new UI for these 2 apps I've had nothing but force close issues on startup. It never fails. It will open and look fine but as soon as I open a thread or start to scroll down it force closes. But the strange part is I can reopen the app immediately and it works fine. It does not matter which device I use. For awhile I thought it was because I was rooted but now I have an HTC one still haven't rooted or modified it in any way and still having the exact same issue. I have been reporting this crash since the day the update came out. I'm losing more and more respect with tapatalk with each update.
If this will not be fixed any time soon what are your opinions on a good alternative app?
Sent from my HTCONE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I use both apps and dont have that problem.
I imagine you tried to uninstall both and wipe and re install.
Yea.. I have 3 phones and it happens on all three devices. Optimus G, HTC one, and galaxy s4.

Had that issue for a while, certain threads would kill the app every time. Haven't noticed it in a while though. I do have issues with trying to access the sprint one main thread through the favorites screen, where it just goes blank. No other major issues though. XDA premium, btw.
Sent from my beige box using xda premium
Are all these threads in sprint htc one?
Thats the only section im in right now and I just have never had an issue
For me it's the default screen. The notifications screen. It will display that screen but as soon as I tap an article (which yea it happens to be most sprint HTC one threads the app will shut down but I can immediately reopen the app and use every feature without an issue. But as soon as I turn my screen off or use another app or wait a bit before using xda premium or tapatalk it does it again..

It got worse with the 4.3 update. I'm having to use the old free version of the xda app.. from the looks of it after reading around a lot of other people are having the same issue. Is there a thread we can report these issues to? I've been reporting on every crash since I updated the app. With this "crashes upon first startup ###" the numbers are the amount of times I've reported the same crash. I'm at 167.

I'm sorry, but even after I did search it seemed like many were having issues on play services 4.0. I thought this was fixed with 4.1?

No a full RUU (rom update utility) it completely erases the device and re-partitions it
I'm not rooted or anything so can I still do that ,if so how do I go about it please

Yes you can, it's really the only thing you can do while the phone is out of the box stock.
But it depends if there is an RUU suitable for your device. Since you say your on the latest there may not be.
Do you have Android tools on your pc? If I asked you to post a fastboot getvar all, do you know how to do that?
It may not even be an issue with the battery, have you tried a battery monitor app like Gsam? Maybe it can identify what's causing the drain
