I had previously run 3 HDMI cables from my office TV through the attic and walls to three other TVs in my house for a project that I no longer use.
Outputs 1,2 and 3 of the 4-Port HDMI splitter are connected to an HDMI cable running to the other TVs with Output 4 connected to my Office TV.
Just for fun, I plugged my Chromecast into the Input of the HDMI splitter and it does work.
Ran a couple of quick tests and all the other TVs see and play anything that I cast from Netflix and/or Chrome Tab.
Really not worth the effort normally but I did have everything in place.

I went back and tried a cheap HDMI 5 to 1 Switch and it works as well.
I now have my Chromecast plugged into Input 1 of the 5 to 1 Switch and an MK802 IIIs plugged into Input 5 and the switch's Output plugged into the Input of my 4 Port HDMI splitter.
Can see the Chromecast or MK802 IIIs (when selected on the switch) on my Office TV and all of the other three TVs.

Matrix switch is cooler cause I can view any of the 4 inputs on any of the 4 outputs (any combination of input/output)...

No doubt about that. What Matrix Switch are you using?
I had all the stuff used in my junk box but can see the benefits of a Matrix Switch.
I plugged mine into the HDMI switch on the back of an Onkio receiver and its working fine.

Well i have had my ps3 for about a month and i bought component cables for it because the hdmi wasnt working. But i have decided i want to use hdmi.
When i plug my high quality gold hdmi lead into the tv and ps3 i turn it on and no picture no sound. I read on the internet, hold the power button in and it will auto set the video, still no sound or picture. I plug the component back in and it works, i go to display settings and switch to hdmi, i switch channel on tv to hdmi it says no signal.
Hmmm...
The tvs im using:
Sony Bravia KDL-32EX403 1080p
Tesco Technika 22" 1080I
The ps3 is a phat 40gb f/w 3.50
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Make sure you are switched to the right HDMI port, I know my TV has a few of them
Then try a different cable.

my technika only has one and the sony tells you which one something is plugged into.
still no luck so i will ask some one for a hdmi lead to borrow.
So I bought the HDMI dock station. I had a spare HDMI standard cable. I bought a mini-to standard adapter. I plugged it all up (yes, with the power cable), and nothing... well, *something*... the TV says it was getting a 1080i signal, but nothing showed up. Television was bought new in 2009.
So I thought, "Well maybe it's the TV." So I happen to have a reasonably new (less than a year) HP 2311x monitor w/ HDMI input, and it says it's receiving signal but also shows nothing.
SO... I thought, "Well maybe the dock or the adaptor is bad." So I went back to Radio Shack where I bought the adapter. Connected everything up to a little HDTV, and IT WORKED. WTF?
Came back home, and it doesn't. WTF???
Anyone know why?
Ok I got the monitor to work after sorting out some issues with the HP support site. Looks cool to have the dock display on there.
BUT... the TV. It connects, then disconnects, then connects, then disconnects... meaning during a movie, I hear sound for a split second, then none, then sound again, then none.... never gets to the image. So it feels like something isn't quite detecting right on the TV side.
Any ideas? This is the adapter I am using with my standard HDMI cable: HDMI Female A to HDMI Male C Swivel Adapter. It works fine on the Radio Shack display TV with MY HDMI cable, and fine on my HP 2311x monitor.
Hi folks, I have my chromecast connected directly to my Denon avr 3310 and powered from the USB port on my TV. Chromecast is working as expected. I get dolby digital plus with no problems and great hd pictures from Netflix. Trouble happens when I switch back to my satellite box. That's connected to my TV via hdmi and receiver via optical. Since adding chromecast I get audio dropouts when watching satellite. How do I know it's chromecast? When I remove the USB cable powering the chromecast from the TV all audio issues dissappear. Anyone have similar issues? Cheers mick
I would do what was suggested and move the usb to maybe a wall adapter for power for troubleshooting. Also make sure that somehow your optical input is not assigned to the same source as your chromecast hdmi input and double check all your input assignments on the Denon.

Same here with a Denon 790 and analog sources. The Chromecast is plugged on back of the receiver inside a bookshelf nook, so disconnecting it is impractical.
The workaround is to drill down the menu through Input Assign > [HDMI] for the port used by Chromecast > set to "None". When using the Chromecast again, reverse the procedure and reassociate the port. Don't forget which port number holds the Chromecast.
It's inconvenient and my wife explicitly Does Not Like It, but the dropouts stop when you disassociate the port. You eventually memorize the remote key sequence without needing the onscreen menu.
Hope this helps, even after 3+ years.
I have a Note 2, a (kinda bleh) Cable Matters mhl adaptor, an Amazon hdmi cable, and an older Philips tv. Each part of the setup has been verified to work but for some reason on this tv I only get audio through headphones plugged into the tv. I tested the tv with my Samsung 7.0+ and it's mhl adaptor (best mhl I've had, flawless) and sound comes through just fine. Nothing comes through the tv's speakers when the Note 2 is attached. Any ideas?

I don't know whether any of you know, but UGreen have just bought out an Ethernet adaptor for the original and new Chromecasts, and what a difference it makes! Despite not being too far from my WiFi router, I was really having stuttering problems with my original Chromecast in my garden office; it really shouldn't have 'cos the signal was good, but I think I was getting interference from the laser cutter and 3D printer running at the same time. Electrical noise really doesn't help with streaming via WiFi.
Anyway, I've been looking for a way to improve it for a while, until I came across this new cable. You plug in the microUSB to the Chromecast as usual, and the other end to the power, and the third 'end' (!) has an ethernet port! Worked first time! I was expecting to have to reset the device so that it would use ethernet in preference, but nope, it defaulted to the Ethernet connection. Now streaming is flawless!
Thoroughly recommend this if you've got the same problem.

Why not use the original Google USB Ethernet adapter for the Chromecast (for $15, cable length: 2 meters, power supply inlcuded!)?
Which UGreen adapter do you use? Please post a link.
Edit: UGREEN Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast with Micro USB to RJ 45 Ethernet Adater for Chromecast with Power Supply (for $14.99, cable length: 1 meter, power supply NOT inlcuded!)

Power supply not included, but my guess is that you can power it up via the TV's usb port? Which actually is a selling point, if that works. I power my Chromecast with a usb connected to the TV, and feel that it's a bit "meh" having to plug it in to an actual power socket, when I have a perfectly good (less clunky) alternative.
Chromcast Ultra needs more power than the USB port on the TV can supply!

Does it work? The Chromcast Ultra needs more power than the USB port of the Samsung LE32C679 TV can supply! https://www.amazon.de/review/R2XUTU...etail-glance&nodeID=340843031&store=computers

If the Chromecast is not powered by the TV, it will not switch off with the TV!
