Hi Folks,
I'm traveling to Germany next month. Specifically, Munich and Poing, Bavaria.
My phone is SIM Unlocked via Sprint International.
I ask if anyone could advise me of a recommended Carrier that would give the best coverage DATA/VOICE or share their experiences using this phone in Germany.
Thank you in advance for the help!

Hi everyone,
I just bought a T-Mobile unlocked HTC HD7 on ebay to switch from my HTC Touch on Bell Canada's network. The thing is: it can't seem to find the network and when I call Bell, they told me that they can't see the phone trying to connect to their servers.
I have a brand new SIM card, activated in their store. The phone works well, I can connect to the Wifi and browse the web.
Any info? Thanks in advance.
Hey, well sorry to tell you but the tmobile HD7 isn't compatible with the Bell network..youd need a Bell, at&t, or Telstra HD7. This thread explains it...

It sucks mate but best option would be to throw it back on eBay and then buy a Bell one
Thanks a lot, I just tough every phones were the same.
I should have read a little more before buying it!
Not a problem, hope you can get yourself a Bell one..its a great phone and a refreshing OS to use.
Hello,
I have a quick question about a Nexus One I got with Vidéotron (a Canadian Carrier - I believe it is compatible with the T-Mobile network).
I am going on a trip to Los Angeles and was thinking of picking up a local prepaid sim card and just swapping it with my Videotron card (will be using a yak calling card for long distance).
Will this work? Do I need a special code to get the phone to accept the card?
Aside from using google talk or similar computer based alternatives, does anyone have a better suggestion (cost-effective!) for using my Nexus One in LA without getting dinged with roaming?
Thank you in advance!
Yes you can get T-Mo 3g http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands .
Was the phone sold as unlocked? I know the ones sold in the US were but I am unsure about the carrier branded phones. The best thing to do is get a local SIM from another carrier and test it out before you go. I'm sure they are able to give you an unlock code if you just call them.
I've bought a second hand HTC One being delivered tomorrow, it is apparently locked to EE but i was wondering if anyone had successfully used a virgin sim in this circumstance.
I would much rather go onto virgin as the deals are great compared to EE/orange/tmobile..
Thanks in advance
Jennifer
Has nobody tried this?
Hello, we will be going to europe for a month in September and I'm trying to see what I have to do to use our HTC Ones (one m7, one m8)
I keep hearing inconclusive things, either a different phone, provider or this and that, figured I'd just post.
My understanding is that I don't have to do anything special to use my Verizon HTC One in Europe (or outside the USA) with a prepaid SIM such as an Orange prepaid SIM.
Can anyone validate that this is correct please?
Thanks!

I believe the answer to this is "no", but:
I have access to an AT&T SM-G900A that is not being used. My daughter is about to move to Germany for an extended period.
First, can the phone be used in Europe at all?
I certainly wouldn't want to pay AT&T's probably-exorbitant rates, so then: can we buy a SIM card there to use in it as is? (pretty sure the answer is "no")
If I unlocked the phone (by buying an unlock code), could it then be used with a Europe-purchased SIM card?
I suspect this is all more trouble than it's worth and I'm better of just finding a used unlocked GSM phone of some sort.
Much thanks.
if you can use it abroad unless you unlock it first.
I have a galaxy s5 att and I am using it with another carrier here in south america.
only bad thing is that the wifi hotspot will not work for being a simcard from another operator, only work by usb tether.
It's working well. I bought an AT&T Galaxy S5 from USA and now I use it in Romania.
The WiFi hotspot is not working, but all the other features work very well.
Probably, after the bootloader will be cracked and we will have the opportunity to install a custom rom or an unbranded rom, the hotspot will function as well.
Enjoy your gadget !
All answers are correct. I was formerly in the U.S.Army and took an old T-Mobile HTC Dream over to Kuwait with me. I called T-MO and got a sim unlock code for free. Upon getting overseas I established service with a GSM carrier over there and popped in my sim card and whallaa! My phone completely worked in Europe and the middle east.
