My cell is on JB 4.1.2 stock ROM, carrier is NOT VZW, signals including CDMA, 3G are fine, but it always shows "No service." on lockscreen.
Tried eri.xml, spn.conf, and build.prop, no way to change this situation.
Anyone any thoughts?
Thx in advance.

Hi people.
After install some custom ROM from here my 3G network icon is not 3G anymore. It is a "H". So how can I get my icon back? Also, this rom is from a strange carrier so, is there a way to remove te boot screen picture from this carrier?
Thanks!

it's normal icon for 3g hspa mode, don't worry, hspa = 3g
It means you've got a HSDPA connection. HSDPA is much faster than 3G. See this link for info on the different terminology
Hey there,
two weeks ago my HSDPA suddenly stopped working.
EDGE is working fine, but whenever I enable HSDPA (selecting "GSM / WCDMA automatically" instead of "Only GSM"), it shows a "H" in the connectivity bar,
but I have no internet (Connection reset). The icon rapidly switches to "3G", and then disappears after a short time.
Could it be some hardware error? I have tried different roms (CM10.2, Google Play Edition 4.3), but that didn't change anything (Except it shows "H+" instead of "H").
Also I hadn't had changed anything when the error occured, so maybe there's just something broken?
My phone is rooted (S-ON) with hboot 1.54. The error occured when my phone was non-rooted (stock), and I just rooted it to check if it would occur with other roms.
I could not check another sim, yet.

I am having same issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502367. It seems it is provider related, i.e. if your carrier does not support fast dormancy the phone acts like this. I have a friend with a One X and another with SGSII and they are having the same issue on Orange RO.

Well, but it worked when I bought my phone, and then (two weeks ago) suddenly stopped working .. So I'm not sure if it's a carrier problem .. Could it be just my SIM card is broken?
I've got a big problem with my 4G connection... I have WIND (IT) as carrier
When I activate 4G mode, the icon appears on the notification bar, but the connection doesn't work.
I have CM11 and I tried different ROMs, also tried to relock bootloader and return to stock FW, but nothing changed
The APN is correct and it works perfectly with 3G connection
I have the same problem. 3G and LTE are not working. The signal in status bar is showing that there is signal but technically there isn't.
I talked to my network carrier, the told me to change my sim card but the problem remains.

Any devices are only capable of connecting to a specific set of bands. Please make sure the place of yours / carrier supports and make use of the bands that XSP supports.
This should be a rare case, since XSP supports a handful of 4G LTE bands. Therefore, this reply of mine is a useless post. Lol
You might want to check your APN to see if it is correct.
Everything with the APN is correct. The problem is with the phone.
Even after flashing sony official stock rom the problem continues...

Well then i have no idea at all
I think it's hardware problem.
So I have a Stock Verizon Moto X 2013 with an AT&T sim. SMS, MMS, and Voice all work. The only thing that doesn't is the Mobile Data. I have tried to manually change to APNs, turning off radios and network refreshing. When I am not on Wifi, the celluar signal looks fine, containing white bars. However, as soon as I go off WIFI connection, the celluar signal immediatly turns orange in the Quick Notifications toggle. Please. I don't even want LTE, just some 3G would be nice. How can I fix this?
I'm also running a Verizon phone on AT&T, and 3G data does work. I'm not sure I can trouble shoot your specific problem, but I can tell you what worked for me.
I ditched the stock ROM, and installed Krypton 1.4 ROM. Then I installed Xposed and the GravityBox module.
This gives you access to the custom mobile network settings, "preferred network type", "select network", and "network mode" (see pics).
Using these settings, I get HSPA connectivity.
Sent from my XT1060 using XDA app
Long story short, there are situations in which some MVNO users need a "home only" roaming option. Data Roaming is easily disabled, but it seems that Verizon did not include network roaming settings in their menus...so voice roaming is always automatic.
My G2 spends way too much time connected to USCC towers... which is fine on standard VZW, but not on VZW based MVNOs that have no voice/SMS roaming enabled.
Does anyone know of a build.prop line, app, PRL update method, xposed module, or any way to totally disable roaming in LG stock roms?
Cyanogenmod 12.1 does have the "home only" option...but I really prefer the stability of stock based roms.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Bumping this... at this point there are no stock based roms with the ability to disable roaming, and CM12 and CM13 do not have sticky settings and end up roaming anyway.
There has to be a way to disable voice roaming...
FYI on the off-chance anyone else is following this...
This build.prop edit does not work to stop voice roaming (causes system UI fail loop)
ro.com.android.voiceroaming=false
Got to be something along these lines, though...
Still eluding me. I can't be the only Verizon MVNO G2 user who doesn't want my phone to roam... anyone else out there?
Such a simple thing as stopping a phone from roaming, and I am stumped!
Aw poop... Just hard bricked my old G2. Flashed a corrupt aboot.img. Deader than a doornail. It has been fun...off to see how long it takes me to break a Samsung Note
