i can't unlock it

Today I noticed that the power button does not work because when I can not unlock, but to remove and replace the battery automatically turns on what I'm thinking is that the power button got stuck
any idea?

Going to need alot more info. Where you running stock or custom rom?

im not running a rom, i stay in stock rom.
all started when I received a text message and read the message, when I wanted to block it and not work the power button. I have noticed that sometimes it works with a few strokes with my fingers but it shows me if I turn off the phone. I believe that the power button is stuck

sometimes with few little strokes xD

when I put the battery automatically turns on, but if I keep pressing the 3 buttons combo I can enter recovery mode, but don't works power button in this mode =/

I'd try an clean around the button and if that works

I am not sure thus will do anything but if you can't get your phone running at all you can try to Odin flash stock to see if maybe it clears the problem. If you cab get into recovery then the power button works for something

yes that's the problem, i cannot get to enter to download mode Because the phone will automatically turn on

Try this. Take battery and sim out. Plug USB in. Hold volume up and down. Put battery in.

if i stay hold only appear logo of AT&T few times, but if i only hold once i can enter to recovery mode =/

Inzombie, what exactly did you do? I have been having the same problem for quite some time...I was able to get into download mode using a program I found on the internet, and I flashed back to stock but the power button is still messed up, it doesn't work at all. What exactly did you do

i know this is an old topic but I have the same problem. I got this phone from a friend and now I cant use the power button. I have taken it apart twice now trying to fix it with no luck. I know it isnt the rom. The button is "stuck" but it still clicks. I know it is stuck because it will never turn off. Once battery is in it turns on, and for 3 button recovery, I only need to hold the vol rocker.

[Q] Galaxy S I9000 got bricked. Plz Help

I was trying a new ROM installation and odin got stuck in between. It was in download mode.
I removed my battery and tried to switch back it on. Nothing is happening.
Please help me.

take battery out for at least 15 mins and then see if you can get into download mode

I took out the battery for 45 mints. Then put it back again and tried to get to download mode. But still nothing is happening. Is it fully bricked? What should I do now?

Before I started flashing battery charge was about 95%. Don't think it is empty.

Hmmm u try pressing it to go into download mode long? Means press till samsung galaxy s shows

I tried holding volume down+home+power buttons for about 1 min to get into download mode. Still nothing happens

Yes. Odin wasn't responding for sometime. So I thought to remove the battery and start all over again. When I did that all this happened

Try this: load your battery and after the Galaxy got warm try to get into download mode. This already helped some people.

Did you disconnect the phone while the blue progress bar was showing up on the phone screen, or before that? If you interrupted it during the blue bar, you probably bricked it. Otherwise, you should be able to get into DL mode. A jig may help.

I think the blue bar was showing when I interrupted it. and it was not moving. So is it a true brick? What should I do now?

Hey all,
I want to take a screenshots. I've looked it up and pwr + vol- but every time I try the volume just does down and the phone power menu pops up. I tried searching but I only have access to this phone for a while, so I'm sorry if this has been asked.

You have to make sure you hit them both at exactly the same time. I had problems with it at first too. Just hit them both at the same time and hold it down for a bit.

You're pressing them wrong!

Then Connect your charger.

Nothing.... and pluged in to chgarger dont work! No light nothing

Did you charge it before using it?
Keep the charger for 15 minutes if the phone doesn't respond than send it back.

just charge it and then turn it on. if it doesn work just be patient and go to service don play with power button and vol up down
if it breaks soft/hard so some expert should check it

About 60% Try another USB on PC and my Xperia S charger... nothing
Try to push POWER and VOLUME UP... nothing

[Q] xp bricked/bootloop?

hi i was charging my xperia c5303 sp this morning, it got to 100% and i unplugged the charger as i did this the screen froze and it went black and my phone is now un responsive will not turn on nothing. if i replug the carger or usb to pc i get a green light across the bottom of phone,
could this be a boot loop, soft brick? and how do i fix? pc will not find the phone it will charge it though
i have not tried to modify this phone at all

anyone?
got no warranty either, not making things easier for me

Flash stock FTF using flashtool , uncheck wipe data while flashing if you do not want to loose your apps and other things.

Hey thanks foe your reply I fixed it pressing the button on the back of the phone. My phone must have froze has I locked it after charge.

Yes lol. I almost cryd couldn't believe it. I went fishing and came home at dinner time because of this. Couldn't cope without my phone. Never experienced this before. I though I'd bricked it, charging my phone. I can sleep well tonight
