Stuck at Bootscreen - Nothing works (adb, fastboot, power+vol) - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
i'm stuck at the bootscreen after flashing a kernel. it shows the white background with htc logo and quietly brilliant.
the problem i have is that i cannot reboot.
when i hold down power or power+vol i only get the blinking lights at the bottom but nothing happens. i can hold the keys for a minute. nothing.
adb reboot (or devices) says : List of devices attached but nothing more.
fastboot reboot says : < waiting for device > but nothing happens
how can i reboot the phone? i mean simplest solution would be to remove the battery...oh wait...no removable battery... damn u htc :silly:
please help me

Hold power + vol down... Only hold the phone under a bright light. You might want to hold it longer than a minute also

omg thats awesome! IT WORKED

Bad problems with my G1

So I recently tried bringing my G1 back from the dead. It showed good signs. When I turn it on normally the Rogers logo, Canadian model, pops up; unfortunately that's the extent of it. I have formatted my sd card, is a 8GB good or do I need to find a smaller one? I have a .nbh file on it. But nothing so far.
Power + Trackball:
- Blue Led
Power + Home:
-Rogers Logo
Power + Back:
-Rogers Logo
Power + Menu:
-Rogers Logo
Any help would be welcome.
power + camera?
Power + Camera
Power + Call
I recently found out that Rogers motherboards/phones fastboot is Power + Call instead of the usual Power + back.
If you can get into fastboot there's a 99% chance you can be saved.
no dice...
Power + Camera
-Rogers Logo
Power + Call
-Rogers Logo
it just hangs there... guess it bricked huh?
Keep playing with all those different options this time with the usb cable plugged into your computer
Probably a good idea to install fastboot right now
Here's an easy package for ya so you don't have to download the whole sdk
http://www.sendspace.com/file/g8rnkq
See if you can get it to show "FASTBOOT USB" on the screen in red
Don't turn it off or anything and get the drivers on the computer set up
Then we can see if we can flash something
If this doesn't work, I'm out of ideas

Hold volume - / volume + / Power-button (all 3 buttons) simultaneously for about 10 sec. Let it reboot.

What if u try it again. Hold all 4 buttons, while the phone is connected to power for 10sec. After that release the power and volume up button. So u hold volume down all the time. See what happens.
Hello there, sorry for this resurrection but I have the same problem, black screen, green led on, but nothing more, no fastboot, no recovery, no logos, no vibration, nothing.
Is there any solution for this? I've tried power button + volumen down in many ways and nothing seems to work.
Thanks in advance!

You can only try to flash ifwi and dnx as I did but I also had no success and also Moto themselves couldn't fix the phone.
If your phone is still in warranty it will get replaced, otherwise you can throw it away.
i had this problem when my battery was deeply unloaded. i had to load it with an powersource with 1A and a factory cable. that worked for me...
Help ,, please emergency !!!!
my xt890 lcd screen and digitizer were broken so i changed them and the phone was working fine for a week, i then wanted to update to kitkat through oem update; everytime i tried it would give me error . i then read that since i unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone and installed cwm recovery i couldnt do an oem update and i had to do a factory reset in order to update through oem, so i did just that ; after the phone finished factory reset and booted i proceeded with oem update while the phone was charging, everything was going fine the file was downloading, i went to the bathroom and came back the display was black, but touch screen was working fine...through more searching i read that this could be from the update, and i should do another reset... since i couldnt see anything even recovery menu. i downloaded moborobo so i can see my screen on pc and proceeded to factory reset ... now i cant even see through moborobo and im stuck. Please help.

[Solved][Q] Stuck in loop after firmware flash.

Edit:
I might have figured it out, while I was in that red triangle / exclamation point screen, I pressed power / volume, then when the screen turned black (phone off) I let go of power and kept holding volume, and it finally entered the bootloader and RUU is now running. Will edit the thread again if that goes through. Leaving info in case anyone runs into the same issue in the future.
Edit2:
The RUU failed when the fastboot binary crashed on step 4 @ 96%, so I switched to a USB3 port and reran and it got through 100% without a hitch, now the phone is working perfectly.

Hi, my phone is s-off, bootloader unlocked, h7_wls.
I flashed 5.05.651.2_full_firmware.zip (to install the ViperOne rom - it says to update the firmware) through fastboot, running it 2 times as recommended. Then I ran fastboot reboot and the phone was stuck in a boot loop, the white screen with the HTC logo would appear, then the screen would turn black (still on as it has the IPS blue glow) then it turns off (full black) and turns on again to repeat the loop.
I've tried holding down volume + power until the home/back flash then letting go of power and holding volume, but the phone would just reboot without going into the bootloader.
I've also tried shining the LED from my other phone onto the light sensor and holding power for 15 seconds, which turns off the phone. If I turn it back on, it returns the phone into the aforementioned boot loop.
Doing the volume + power thing, and running the RUU_M7_WL_K44_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_5.05.651.2_Radio_1.01.20.0904_2_NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_393160_signed_2.exe file while the home/back buttons flash gets the phone into a black background with a red triangle / exclamation point but the RUU program exits with Error[170]: USB CONNECTION ERROR.
Typing adb devices while in the black screen with red triangle / exclamation point, it sees the device but says the device is offline, typing fastboot devices returns nothing.
I've tried 3 USB cables.
Not sure what to do next?
Thanks.

oh yeah this time happened to me as well
basically all your phone is doing is rebooting
you need to get it to power down somehow. I managed to force shut it down using the hold power thing and then held volume down and power to get to the boot loader
but if anyone is having difficulty another sure fire way to get the phone to shut down is to wait for the battery to die (may take a really long time)

How long are you holding the buttons? The lights will flash for several seconds before booting to the bootloader.
Have you tried doing it with the device powered off?
Sent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk
Im holding the buttons for atleast 60 sec.
Its stuck on the boot animation think. I dont know how to turn it off.

Well, I have no idea then.... The phone should turn off after holding the Power button for ~10 seconds while the capacitive buttons blink... For how long are trying to turn off the phone? I would suggest you to let it in bootloop over night, so the battery gets drained & then try to go into bootloader in the morning when charging [emoji4]
I'm having the same issue. My volume down button barely works and when it does it's temperamental. I've done the same and had the same issues with the blinking lights. I've let the battery drain out and tried to redo it to no avail. ADB and Fastboot commands don't work either since it doesn't boot up far enough for the adb wait-for-device commands either, so I think mine is fully bricked. I have a Nexus 4 which I'm using but it would be nice to get my M7 working again as a backup/mess around phone

XT1096 no longer boots

I accidently removed my OS, and now I cannot boot into my bootloader.
I've tried charging the phone with it's OEM charger, and it stays stuck on the white battery charging screen until it dies again. I've tried doing it via my PC, and it charges, but I cannot do anything but boot onto the Motorola "Powered by Android" where it freezes, until I hold power and volume down, where it black screens, and restarts again. This happened after clearing my data and failing to flash an OS. After rebooting my phone, this happened. My bootloader is unlocked, but the phone isn't rooted. I've got a ROM that works, but adb is useless as my phone doesn't show up.
If you have twrp recovery Press & hold Power key& volumes up/down hold them all together.. Keep holding pressing about 10 sec or until you see little dim red light it's going to be left side upper speaker...once you see it don't let go of buttons for 8 seconds OK this is critical let go of the buttons & hold them again about 5 seconds,
TWRP recovery should show up.. If not repeat steps again. TWRP will show up.
