Hi guys,
I've looked for hours on the internet and cannot find a fix to this problem. I recently purchased a battery for my HTC sensation xl and it refuses to charge. When i check the battery status it says "unknown". I am certain the charger and USB cable are in good condition as my original battery charges. I have been sent a replacement for this new battery and still the same problem persists. How come my original battery charges but this new one does not.
Kind regards, Simon. :crying:

Hey guys,
I have just brought a new extended battery and cover for my HTC HD2, i got it deliveried this morning, turned the phone off and changed the batterys. i then put it on charge while the phone being turned off, to give it a full charge. The light for charging starts, but then after 30 secs it flashes one orange light then a green one, which suggest its not charging. I have tried charging it via the computer and still get the same problem
Can anyone help me as to what the problem actually is?? as if it is the battery i will order a new one.
Kind Regards
Shane
Ive just put my old battery back in, (standard one) and it seems to be charging fine. does this mean the battery i have is faulty, I have herd sometimes when they havnt been used they dont charge but after using and charging it works.
I need to sort this out as soon as because of trying to return the for another one??
i have the same problem with my spare battery i bought it only charged once and after that it only flashes orange and green. the only solution i found is charging it with my craddle in the spare battery slot (which doesnt work anymore for some reason it doesnt charge either battery so its probably the craddle thats bad so make sure you buy a good one and thats compatible to your hd2 version)or having your phone off while charging. which sucks if you use your phone as an alarm because you have to up in the middle of the night just to switch batterys and miss any late night calls if you know what i mean

Have exactly the same problem. Old battery charges fine, new extended doesn't.
Did you find any solutions? Is it a fault on the extended battery?
Hi guys
I am having the same problem, new extended battery and does not charge just getting the flashing led's, normal battery charges ok!! charge from mains or computer is gives the same result....any ideas???
I had this problem, i was running the stock rom (02 ireland) flashing red and green not charging with the extended battery (official), i fixed it by flashing a new rom.
that tells me its a software issue as the original battery would charge fine and the extended had the issue.

yes its a software issue and if your provider wont let you use the rom update on the htc site then i think until they bring a new rom out for eg.vodafone we are stuffed....
Older ROMs don't support the extended battery.

Hey everyone,
I purchased a generic HTC Magic battery and placed it in my Magic.
Couple issues happening.
When I boot it up, there's no orange charging light at the top to signify that it's charging.
Also in the battery status indicator at the top bar, it shows a question mark inside the status.
Does this mean that it is defective or the phone just doesn't recognize it? The phone seems to be working on the battery, I just have no clue if it's charged high or not.
Thanks
It means the battery is not 100% compatible. And also maybe fake. U might just got scanned
sent from myTouch 3g 1.2 using XDA app
yes, i agree, not full compatible
congratulations
Fake/Duplicate battery
May be the battery you bought is a cheap replica or counterfeit. Try charging it via the AC adapter. I once got a similar one from a Chinese online-shop. Once i charged it to full capacity using the AC adapter, the issue was solved. Minus the charging from USB in a PC. However my Car's Audio System is capable of charging my Phone, via the USB port.
May be there is some difference in current or voltage supplied for charging...
Ive just bought a new battery for my Htc Diamond but the phone wont recognise it or charge it. Has anyone any tweaks or ideas on how to get the phone to recognise the new battery..
It will work on a old 1.37 rom but not on any new rom that Ive flashed the phone with. Its driving me crazy
any help would be brilliant
Thanks

This might not be the same thing, but I have similar problem on my Diamond. After purchasing the machine, I quickly learned of the poor battery life that is inherent with it and proceeded to purchase some cheapo third party batteries on eBay. These worked for about a month, and now they refuse to charge many times. They'll discharge just fine, but it refuses to respond to the USB cable. It never does this on the stock battery, and I have all but given up on the third party ones.
Hopefully you have better luck than I did.

I found my D-710 will not work with some Battery s try your old batt. and see if will charge
if it will you have a bad batt
Hi all, I bought a busted Droid A855 from a friend with a few problems and I can't fix one of them. The battery wouldn't charge and showed the gray question mark battery icon. I thought the battery was defective because the phone is old and I bought a new battery, however it still would not charge and still showed the question mark. It was a knock-off brand battery, so after some forum searching, I bought an OEM battery. That battery behaved just the same as the knock-off battery. When I power the phone on without a battery, it says connect your charger, shows the gray question mark battery and says I have 5% battery under system information. That's the part that stumps me. It also won't power up when connected to a USB port without a battery. I have an OEM USB cord and outlet brick. It's running 2.2.2 stock with no root. I have no idea where to go from here, and would try just about anything short of smashing the phone at this point.
I replaced my zuk battery with a new NOHON one it managed to boot and work and all fine but when I connected it to the charger it won't charge at all and didn't show any indication, but when I tuned it off and connected it shows that it's being charged but the battery stays on the exact same number.
Help!! I like my phone and I want to keep it!
Did you ever solve this ?!
Which battery did you buy exactly ??
