It is true, XPERIA TX has different screens.

Hello,
My friend and I bought 2 XPERIA TX, I noticed that his screen looks better than mine, it's very clear that his viewing angles is also better than mine.
When I looked into the software info for both phones, I found one difference.
It's the Touch Firmware Version, mine is c while his is b.
Both phones are HK version, but my phone is ZH/EN and his phone is HK/CH
This is really makes me so angry
Here are two screen shots for software info from our phones.

I don't think that alone proves it's a completely difference screen. I think the touch screen digitizer is different compared to the screen itself. How did you get to the software info screen? I want to know what my version is as well.

Press "Service info" then "Software info"

from what i know b is manufactured by sony and a is manufactured in china. not sure about c

Mine is version B, and I gotta say my screen looks pretty good.

What do you mean by better? Take some pictures or sth.
Tbh no phones are made perfect, so why complain? You're already better than people who has defected phones.

Better means better, specially in viewing angles, the phone with b firmware has much better viewing angles than c.
Defected phones are not my concern here, if I got a defected phone I'll go to SONY Service Center, that's easy.
BTW I'm a SONY fan, and I love my TX, it's really a great phone, and in general it 's better than One X and SGS III.
But if SONY is releasing the handset with different hardware, they should state it and discriminate between them.
The difference between touch firmware versions means that we have 2 different touch panels ( digitizers ).
I hope you got it now.

Mine is C, and overall the screen it's ok, but yes, the viewing angles are very poor.

This is the same as typing *#*#SERVICE#*#* into the phone keypad - which is a bit easier to remember!

so I was lucky I got a B version also but unfortunately I had to sent it back for replacement due to wifi reboot issue, I hope the next one is also B

Here are the pictures guys, they're not from the internet, they're from my phone and my friends' phone.
Both phones at 100% brightness, adept to lighting conditions disabled.
Both phones has the same SI Number, and both was made in week 41 2012
This is really annoying and frustrating,

Camera comparison: N4 vs. iPhone5 (large image file embedded)

My co-worker (iPhone5) and I (N4) each tried to take an identical photo of some bourbon I bought the other day. The side-by-side is below. Granted, this test is close to meaningless, because he might have been shaking during his photo, but I was still pleased to see how much better the N4 output is compared to the iPhone 5 for this particular photo.

Yeah, and the 23-year is like a symphony in your mouth! Too bad the Pappy brand is so hard to come across these days

This confirms what I have seen from these two cams. The iPhone uses a lot of algorithms to make photos "pop", much like setting an SLR to output vivid jpegs. N4 seems to be less agressive with exposure and post-processing.
I can only explain the iPhone image looking fuzzier as being due to camera movement (it does have a better lens).

Yeah, it seems like the camera on the N4 is not adding any effects, allowing you to adjust it in the app itself.
I can see why Apple wants to adjust it a bit though, they are targeting people who just want to take a picture and leave it as it is. Though it might be true of Android customers too, it doesn't seem like Google has that as a priority.

Wow. The iPhone picture looks bright and washed out. The n4 looks darker yet has more detail. Also, the iPhone picture looks like you'd be drinking something watered down and the n4 pic looks like some manly stuff I'd drink even though I don't drink.
I voided my warranty.

As someone who owns both phones. This is a one off situation. The iPhone 5 has a better camera.

yeah, my gf has the iphone5 and i will say it has better photos in about 90% of situations... either way, they are two of the best phone cameras on the market so im okay with either

As another person who owns both devices, I have to agree. The nexus 4 does have a decent camera though.

I think you have answered the long standing question "where is the damn earphone?" damn good render if you ask me, but the real deal is supposed to be 'little' bit squarish! Just my thought!

gonna nit pick here just for fun:
looks like the "rubbery" looking outer border is a bit thicker on the left side than the right side. Could just be my eyes though.
that "rubbery" looking material looks super nice though!
another nitpick:
the volume buttons curve inwards on the top and bottom, the power button does not. personally, i prefer the non curved style of the power button as you pictured it.

To be honest that looks just like an N4, even the curves at the top and bottom resemble a N4 more than the leaked pictures of the N5. And even the bezel looks like an N4

Yes it looks similar to Nexus 4 but IMO it is a good thing.
I tried some other phones but nothing pleased me more than the Nexus 4, even in the design. So a Nexus with similar design would be great.

What about the back? The front is a screen, thats a given, but the back is the main place which gives the phone its design.

if its 4.95 inch and its called nexus 5 the numbers are representing the number of nexus phones released, if its nexus 4 2013 (which i highly doubt) its all about the screen sizes...

Galaxy S5 Leaked ahead of launch[FULL DEVICE LEAK]

Galaxy S5 has leaked today, a few hours from the UNPACKED event. This will give you an idea of what to expect at the event today.
Not much has changed from S4 in terms of design though, which is a disappointment. And it still looks like it's made out of some type of plastic and not even faux leather!
The UI is a little bit different and is much flatter.
The camera is 16MP. It is yet to be seen if it's the ISOCELL tech. Also, UHD recording is present.
According to calculations done by somebody, the battery is 2800 MAh, and it looks just the same as the one on the Galaxy Round.
There is also a Fingerprint scanner on-board, possibly only a Swipe type which is located on the home button.
Menu key has been replaced with multitask key and there is a weird sensor near the camera flash (iris scanner probably). EDIT: It is a Heart Rate Monitor

It is disappointing to me too. I expected a radically changed design this time around.
It looks worse than Hyperglaze or Faux leather. And the white one looks like Styrofoam.
But maybe there will be a premium "Prime" version too. There are leaks about such a possibility.

They seem to be just throwing in a good SoC, Camera, display and bloatware and not bothering about the build quality!

I stuck with my phone (iPhone 4) since 2010. I really want a new device an I'm waiting for every press event from Samsung, Sony, Apple and others. But the leaked pictures are very disappointing. Again...

My preference is for the Note 3

That design team needs to be fired ASAP. I hope the press this time criticizes negatively Samsung with no mercy.

Samsung need to hire that Duarte guy from Google. His designs using budget material and costs are amazing. With Samsung's pockets and resources he could design something that would beat an iPhone or HTC in beauty and also have personality, while starting a new design language for future samsung devices.

This is one ugly ass phone, even though I'd stick it in a cover I would not be happy buying that phone. Was going to go from my sg3 to this but scratch that, next months HTC is what I'm looking at now.

this is a question that will never be answered. Some car designs for example are absolutely awful - who comes up with the designs and the fact they actually get mass produced is beyond me.

Just to kind of note to everyone, Android uses more resources compared to iOS that scales better with hardware. Only natural though seeing that Android doesn't target one platform like iOS does. Even Windows Phone and Windows 8 ship and run with 1gb just fine.
Anyway we just got a shipment of them for some admins for the school district I work for and I got to play with one. The screen is big, but I feel there is a lot of wasted space on the top and bottom bezels. Making it taller and a little bit wider than say the Galaxy Note 3. Despite being this big, it does feel comfortable in my hands. I don't have big hands either.
OS wise it's doing a good job adding these features, some of these Android has had for awhile(but not stock Android) so it's good to see Apple incorporate features into their OS now.
Screen isn't as high resolution as the Note 3, but man does it look sharper and more vivid colors compared to AMOLEDS! AMOLED's have always kind of looked a little dull though....
Overall I like it. There are a couple things I would change for it, but there's tons of things I would change in Android. But I can change them in Android(At the risk of losing my warranty of course that I fully understand).
I'm also very happy to see Apple come out with a new API! Open GL is not bad, but support from Qualcomm and PowerVR are awful. I'm interested in seeing if Metal goes beyond iOS to Mac OS X!

Recycled garbage, you owned one you owned them all. Look at android L, love the new design gimmick to keep the sheeps interest. I've been using android since gingerbread and well its all the same they just keep moving stuff around. In the end its the apps you use that should make your decision not the OS hardware too kinda
