I have put my HTC 802w back into stock 4.1.2 (after unlocking and rooting). However, it says "Relocked" in the top of the screen when I enter bootloader.
I have a question. I heard a while back that you are able to download something from htc's store that allows you to disable some of the stock chinese software and it adds some google stuff. Should that be done BEFORE upgrading to 4.2.2? Or should it be done AFTER upgrading to 4.2.2? Is there any Android version dependency of that app? what is that app called? Does it matter what version of Android I have installed? Also, should I just upgrade normally via the software update to 4.2.2? Right now I am at Stock 4.1.2.
Thanks for any help given.

use the same methods you used to get Google Editition to update when a new OTA comes out, youll get a ROM here before the OTA is even shown on your phone
Hi, i've updated my HTC One , international version, to Android 4.3 last week, via OTA Update. Now i want to unlock the bootloader and root it. Since all the tutorials on the internet are for versions lower that 4.3, i don't know if the process is working using the same software and drivers. So far i couldn't find an tutorial explaining how to do this on the officially released android 4.3 version. Do you know what are the diferences, and if possible, which software i have to use ? Thanks !

Unlock bootloader, flash TWRP recovery and when you reboot it from recovery it installs root for you.
I asked what are THE DIFFERENCES in rooting Android 4.3 than the lower versions, i didn't asked for the steps which are the same.
What does "bricked kernel" mean? I have a HTC one, rooted.
It is a european model which I believe is called M7?
When I google to get the kitkat 4.4, I get too many different solutions Need some advice on what to download since I have no idea which one of them that is good.
It's been some time since I used the phone, but back then I rooted it and did a "s-off or on"-thing.
Downloaded and installed some "pacman"-theme ROM that was ok.
But I want to delete this now and update to 4.4 kitkat, but want to keep the phone rooted.
Anyone that can link to a "step-by-step" guide on how to do this?
I downloaded a rom called Smasher X 5.1
Is this rom "based" on the kitkat 4.4?
Hi everyone! I'm new here, and forgive me if this is a repost, but I had rooted my HTC one M7 to Cyanogenmod using the CM installer and loved it but I'm wanting to go ahead and get it back to stock to get Sense 6 when HTC puts out their official ROM. Anyway, I ran through fastboot and relocked the bootloader which it shows and I flashed using HTC's RUU file. I'm on version 4.3 with 5.0 currently and am trying to update to 4.4.2 with sense 5.5 but everytime I go to settings then AT&T Software update it says the system is up to date. I've tried clearing the services framework and I still can't get it to update. I'm not sure where else to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I have an AT&T unlocked and rooted HTC One (M7) currently running Android 4.1.2, I understand that since the device is rooted I cannot upgrade Android or receive OTA upgrades, is there a manual way to do this without re locking my device?

Not sure if this helps, but you could always try flashing a stock kitkat ROM, now that you're rooted/custom recovery. There's some on the Android Revolution HD blogspot, under downloads
