TWRP Error: 255

Property on my Galaxy Tab S2 MM TWRP 3.0.0. Installed. Have already made several backups, without problems.
For no apparent reason, backup creation is now aborted.
Have tried to write to the ext.Sd card and a USB stick
Have TWRP reinstalled. Without success. Times an older backup made and tried to save it again. Same error message.
Have determined that if I in the partitions selection "system" clicks error appears. For all other partitions not. Have the system partition reformatted, but nothing. Have deinstall ANTPlusTest.
If I check in the system-img check box instead of system does the backup
Does anyone have an idea what else I could make to fix the error? Also, I would be interested in what is the difference between system and system img. Is not system included in Sytem-Img? Then I would backup the system-img in the future.

It seems you may have a corrupted system partition and it fails to backup the ANTPlusTest.
System Image backup succeeds because it makes a raw copy of the entire partition, byte for byte.
Regular backup only backs up the files and folders.
That does not sound good. I had the partition already on ext4 formatted. Apparently unsuccessful. What can I do to repair the partition? I had formatted low level for hard disks. But Android?

Have you tried formatting with twrp using the advanced wipe options then flash the stock firmware or simply just delete that file?
Also something else to try. I remember someone else had the same issue, try backing up to different media. If your backing up to sdcard try internal or another sdcard or otg.
I've been here for a week on holiday and will deal with the problem afterwards.
I have formatted with TWRP ext4 and deleted the file. Wipe I had made and as medium int and ext SD card and also a USB stick. All without success.
I did with twrp wipe Dalvik / Art Cache; System; Data; Internal Storage; Cache and repair File System from System, Data and Cache.
Then I played back the last working backup. Now the error is fixed.

TWRP Backup Failed

I was doing a full backup of my device on TWRP ( all partitions are checked/selected ) the total size of my backup is 9GB
I started backing it up and i noticed that it stopped on Data Partition. I was backing up data partition for about 30 mins and still no changes then i cancel it. then there's qn error saying
e: createTarFork() process ended with ERROR=255
my data partition is all about 5gb
how can i fix this problem?
Hello, same problem with data partition maybe due to an encryption. I don't have the solution.
If you wipe or format data, that's works while stay into twrp, but on reboot system, the sdcard partition is encryted again.
Hello, I try this : "https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/root-supersu-2-81-emui-5-t3612258"
and download Version 6/b - Name: SuperSUv2.82-EMUI5-noverity-Permissive.zip.
If you enter recovery mode, format data all data will be lost) and flashing this file, the new data partition will be without encryption.
Works for me : Backup data OK without error 255 and recovery settings can be memorized.

1.Backup your own boot image
2. Install this boot img via fastboot: https://mega.nz/#!JQdzjQrZ!SG3GIQsHt7sHRwj0PYGWI4Dnq5Qpk3ir-TBTLsWezF0
3.Go into TWRP and backup your Firmware
4.Restore your normal boot image
It should work like this
That's about the FBE (if you're trying to backup EMUI /data partition).
There's no TWRP that currently supports backuping the PRA /data partition.

How To Guide [FIXED] Apps not updated or install after MIUI 13 to 14 Upgrade.

ISSUES :
You get error message when you try to update apps in Play Store or unable to install an apk saying "Out of storage space".
Requirement :
Your phone must be an bootloader unlocked phone and flash and use OrangeFox recovery (I prefer OrangeFox this time).
^^^^^^^^^^WARNING! ALL YOUR DATA WILL BE GONE^^^^^^^^^^ Back up your data to other device or using cloud-based backup.
SOLUTION :
Boot your phone in to Orange Fox Recovery. Mount all partitions available and shown there. Erase these partitions "Data" (NOT Data Format), "Dalvik-cache" & "Cache".
Mount / Enable MTP (can't get connected? Turn it off and back on).
Copy your MIUI14 firmware in to internal storage.
After copying, go to \data\media. Click the flashable miui14 zip and install it as Flashable zip. Wait till it's finished. After that, clear "Dalvik-cache & cache".
I recommend a full reset after phone is booted completely. Your external memory card will be erased too.
Go to \data\media and delete the flash zip file to gain some storage space.
Thank you.
