[SOLVED] [Q] recovering apk files borked CM7.1 install

installed CM7.1, updated the latest nightly over it (#150), worked for about 10 minutes, then started boot-looping, then got stuck on the boot logo.
i know i can probably wipe data and fix this, but i want to backup the apk files as i had a lot of apps on there and don't want to download them again from scratch as i don't even remember what i had.
i can still get to CWM 5, so i wondered if its possible to get to the apks through recovery somehow?
edit: nvm gonna restore from the nandroid

Various problems, including Recovery, Market and mobile shut off

Hi
I'm experiencing these issues during last days:
-Market doesn't download or actualize nothing (Error 492)
-Phone shuts off randomly
-I cannot load CWM recovery
These are my phone specifications:
-V20o Official Leaked Rom
-Horsepower extreme 24BPP RC11 Kernel
-Hp v20o tweaks
-Fast Dormancy Logging fix
-Scrolling Cache Disabler for smoother scrolling
-CWM Touch Custom Recovery installed flashing a zip encountered on xda
I'm experiencing these problems after I installed CM9 beta-rom (and the proper google apps) and then I went back to the V20o doing three wipes and restoring a previous Nandroid Backup
Any suggestion?
Thanks
The problem is I think touch recovery. It contains a bug when your wiping cache. The problem is that after wiping it, it won't rebuild, so this will crash your market and may also cause the other problems.
What you could do is change your recovery.
Thank you very much
So I should not wipe cache when i run a Nandroid restore?
I ask you this 'cause when, after installing CM9 (doing three wipes procedure), i rebooted into recovery to restore Nandroid backup and it seemed to work well. I began to experience problems when I loaded Rom after it.
Anyway is there any chance to reinstall old version CWM without reinstalling the Rom?

The problem occurs after every cache wipe, because it should rebuild after every wipe and that's the problem.
The easiest way to reinstall a CWM version is using ROM Manager and restore to CWM version 5.0.2.0. I know it's kinda old, but it'll do good enough.
EDIT: If you for some reason really don't like CWM 5.0.2.0, look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1478995
You can find a flashable zip somewhere of CWM 5.0.2.7
Touch Recovery i had was flashed from that .zip file you're telling me! Anyway i tried to install old CWM version in Rom Manager but it didn't resolve the problem.
I will manage to reinstall everything.

[Q] No booting after installing CM 7.2

Hello everyone,
I just tried to install the stable version of CM 7.2 (cyanogenmod) and I kind of have a little problem: after rooting the device as described by iProHackr in one of his videos on youtube (Unlock Root 2.4.2 did not work for me), I used the Clockworkmod Rom Manager, downloaded from there the stable version of CM 7.2 and started the installation. The Rom Manager asked me before, if I wish to do wipe the cache and dalvik cache, as well as backup the current os. I selected all options and then the installation started normally.
After some time, the phone rebooted (as part of the installation), but it's stuck at the LG boot logo. I can see the LEDs blinking, but nothing has happened for aprox. 2 hours. The phone does not boot.
What should I do next? Should I reboot in recovery mode and try to repeat the procedure? If yes, how do I boot into recovery mode?
Thanks in advance.
Problem solved. I don't know what the problem was, but I made the same steps one more time, wiped the data and cleared the cache, installed the cm 7.2 again and after a couple of minutes, the phone started successfully.

[Q] Restoring gapps after updating from 4.2 to 4.3

Currently on cm 10.1.3 stable, planning on flashing cm 10.2 snapshot. I know I need to flash the rom then the updated gapps, but when recovering apps via titanium do I restore the gapp data? Or do I have to remove them from my titanium backup before restoring

Since you are flashing a completely different version of cyanogenmod -ie going from 4.2 to 4.3-, you MUST flash the gapps for 4.3-, I remember accidentally flashing the wrong one with the aokp rom, and it didnt work right, either it kept crashing the systemui framework, or it just kept bootlooping. Now if you wanted to restore your gapps from titanium backup, that also wont work, because again you need the gapps for 4.3. I forget why it wont work, it just doesnt lol.
PS. Now if you wanted to just restore the data from the gapps, I am not sure if that would work, so you could try perhaps backing up the rom after updating then attempt to restore, if it doesnt work then obviously restore your rom backup.
Hope that helps.

[Q] Fixing the boot loop without losing all the apps/data/settings (HD+)

I'm currently running the latest emmc nightly with trim kernel. While it's quite stable, I do get random reboots from time to time and the wifi is not very stable. So last night I tried downgrading it back to the 07/10 build, which is supposed to be the most stable, but it got stuck in the boot loop. I've made sure to flash the right Gapps and wiped the dalvik/cache, uncheck the launcher wallpaper checkbox, but it still won't boot. I then flashed the latest emmc nightly and it boots just fine. Has anyone managed to successfully downgrade to 07/10 and fix the dreaded boot loop problem without losing all the apps/data? I considered trying doing the Titanium app/data backup + flash 07/10 + factory reset + restore backup, but I'm not sure if that would actually work? Open to any suggestions, thanks in advance!
Anyone? Pretty please!

Titanium Backup Pro can extract apps+data from CWM & TWRP backups. Maybe you can make a nandroid backup of your /data partition, clean flash, and then try restoring through TiBa?
Also, I think restoring all of /data should be almost safe, as most of it is user-installed apps anyway. The only conflict would come from any system settings you've changed, which might conflict with an older builds.
