[Q]Droid 3 US Gsm ICS

How to get the Droid 3 on ics with US Gsm capabilities, i know this was possible on gingerbread, any ideas?
Hi,
The Droid 3 can be used only to Verizon in the USA even if you unlock the phone.
There is a thread for using it in tMobile not sure if it works. GSM will work only outside the USA. Flashing a Radio, recovery.. Etc are not possible in it because it has a locked and encrypted. bootloader... Only option is to use bootstrap..
If I'm wrong, please correct me...

Its possible
Use the Radio and build.prop from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406812
There are two major ICS ROMs, one of them has better GSM support (can't remember which one)

It hasn't been updated with the ics build.prop
First, install the XT883 radio. Then, you can flash this zip I made to get it working.

Please educate

I'm a Tmo customer. Just got my new ONE, unlocked, s off, cwm & SU installed. Now I'm a little confused. Will Rome in this forum work on my phone or do I need to go to TMO Htc ONE section?

Yes. Roms here work fine on your phone

Sprint HTC one bricked?

So I wanted to root my htc one and install a custom rom on it and everything went wrong. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed twrp, installed superuser. I then tried to install android revolution hd 12.1. after installing it from sd card it said that my device was not rooted and it rebooted and now i am stuck on the bootloader screen. I cannot try and install the rom again due to all my data being wiped somehow and I have relocked the bootloader and tried to run the ruu to return to stock but it says I need the correct ruu i updated to 1.31. someone please help!!!
It is loading to the "htc quite brilliant" screen and it wont go no farther, I can still get into bootloader and recovery though
Sprint Htc One issues
I am having a very similar issue! I just want to be able to use my phone whether stock or rooted now. Help!!!!!!
If you can access the boot loader, unlock it again then use TWRP's sideload feature to flash the ROM. Or you can probably find. The correct RUU in the sprint one forum.
AT&T HTC One
BaadNewz's InsertCoin 3.0-7
Flar2's Bulletproof 3.4
Once you guys get your phone's fixed, make sure to flash a sprint compatible Rom. Android revolution hd isn't compatible for our phones yet

Seriously. The number of people who've managed to put themselves in this situation is staggering. We may just want to have a PSA sticky that says not to flash that ROM.
OP, you should at the least put your phone into fastboot because an RUU will not run with the bootloader open, but I'm not sure if there's a new RUU available for the latest OTA.
Fortunately you are not bricked try out this tool it makes your recovery so much easier http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2236814 with this you can flash a recovery and sideload a rom, you might have to also click the download HTC drivers as well. Make sure you sideload a SPRINT compatible Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2219. GL!
So find a Sprint Rom you like and download it, then from bootloader you can use this tool and sideload a rom and flash a recovery.
Ive got it to install a rom, i installed viperrom. After i did that and it boots up it says I have no service and the phone will reboot on its own. what do i do now?
You will likely have to RUU back to stock. The non Sprint Rom probable buggered the partitions or the baseband. Look in android development to find the RUU file you need. I don't think you can use the older one if you got the recent OTA.

Thats what I want to do go back to stock. Do you know where the ruu for 1.31 is?
I can't find it. I heard it was out there in a thread recently. Here is the older one though. That may work, I haven't tried though.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=
I haven't explored it myself, but I saw anecdotal posts stating that they were able to use the older RUU.

Ive tried the older one it wont work

what do you mean?
Might have to wait for the RUU file to drop then. Coming from Samsung devices for a long time, I'm used to being able to use Odin to go back to older factory firmware without issue. It's a bummer. Maybe someone more versed will have better info.

Does the Non-Sprint HTC One threads say "Sprint"? No.
Are the Sprint HTC One forums labeled "Sprint"? Yes.
Do nearly all the ROM threads in the non-Sprint forums say something along the line of "not for Sprint variant" including the revolution HD thread (all US carriers apart from Sprint)? Yes.
Just take a minute to read through the thread before flashing something. I mean, this is an expensive device where messing with system level files CAN ruin it (obviously) So, don't go jumping into stuff if you aren't going to take the time to understand it.

Thank you, could you elaborate a little more? Ive been stuck since last night. I am able to install roms from recovery but once I do the phone keeps rebooting and saying no service
The thread I listed gives everything to get you back up and running,,the GSM Rom you flashed screwed up your partitions, file structure is different from our Sprint edition Ones,,that thread is in general section,

Thank you! I am going to try that now! i appreciate the help, I just want to be up and running again
I thought that fix is just to remove the 4.2.2 multi user sd card issue. I don't think that'll fix your baseband issue. Might be wrong though...

Are you bought HTC ONE from HTC US store ? or your HTC ONE came from Taiwan ?
if your ONE form HTC US store than you need unlocked/S-OFF to flash Taiwan stock rom 2.24
if your ONE form Taiwan than you can update to 2.24.
my htc one is from america i just seen that the taiwan version has some extra features on the stock that includes closing background apps from the menu and some other small but nifty features so thought about going stock taiwan on it
do u know of any guide on how to do it?
i already rooted and using right now the revolution hd on my htc one

Compatible with wind?

I have Htc One with wind. I was just wondering I just need to follow the procedures available in fourm for Htc One for installing custom roms? What about baseband, I think wind network is a little different then the rest of the networks.

I am with Wind too. Just follow the procedures given here for unlocking, rooting, and S-Offing your phone.
