Hi,
Google have recently closed their Latitude API. Does anyone know if it is still possible to record your location on Windows Phone? I would really like to get a Lumia 1020, but Location History is quite important to me. A non-Google solution would be acceptable if it still has a way to retrieve the data.
Thanks, Jamie Kitson

Hi all,
My Google Maps simply won't connect no matter what I do. I get this network not connecting window that is Google Maps generated, not Windows Mobile. I remove it, reinstall it, doesn't work. All my other data and messaging work. But the program for some reason won't connect.
Could this be a registry issue that could be fixed somehow?
THANK YOU for any guidance.
More information would be helpful. Perhaps the problem you are having is ROM based? Perhaps you are experiencing data issues when Google Maps is having this issue. Make sure you are able to get to various web pages when the error occurs in Google Maps. Report back on you findings.
Hi,
I've just moved from Blackberry to HTC One which is my first Android device and am having some issues with the search functionality.
On the Blackberry, a search string would get me results from Mails, Messages, Apps, Settings, everything. On the HTC, I only get very limited results. Most importantly I can't figure out how to search email messages other than the subject/sender.
Considering Google is the search specialist, this should have been a basic feature. Or am I missing something? Are there any 3rd party apps that can do this?
Thanks..
Try Gmail and Google now is good hold down the home button
Tried it. Doesn't search message body or sms'. Only sender and subject.
You'll have to open the individual apps to do this. Google Now is a generation 1.0 application, it's not feature complete yet. In general, it'd require modifications both in Google Now and the other apps in order to share the data.
You could in theory try to find a replacement mail and SMS app that does talk to Google Now (shows up under Phone Search in Google Now Settings), but that is up to the individual apps. I don't know of any offhand.
Google search may be able to do what your asking. I know it has a bunch of options for what you want to search on your phone.

I have since 5.11.2016 the following problem:
My Lumia 1020 with WP8 (not: 8.1) can not download or update anything in the store. I come to the store, can select an update, but then the store remains hanging: "Waiting ..."
Also, OneDrive does not work properly. Photos I can view, but not view Office Docs. Also from the Office Hub, the connection to OneDrive is not possible.
Also OneNote can not snyc. Error Code: 80074005
And Whatsapp does not make any push notifications anymore.
I have already tried everything possible: soft reset, office reset, change time, WiFi off etc. All tips from the net do not work. And a hard reset I will absolutely avoid.
In addition, I wanted to use my old Lumia 520 (also with WP8) again to see if it is there, or whether it is perhaps an MS problem. (Outlook conversion, or so ...)
But the 520 can not log in to Microsoft.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do?
And could someone, who has also a telephone with WP8 (not 8.1), whether with it everything works or not?
Has anyone the same problems on his old WP8 and perhaps it has not even noticed since he has a new one now and the old is in the drawer?
For any suggestions I would be very grateful!
After 10 days everything now works again. All by itself.
A reset was not necessary.
After recently purchasing a couple of Google Home Minis I have realised that Google seem incapable of bringing their departments together to make the gadget work properly with Google Calendars. Its so embaressing as the Amazon Echo actually works better with Google Calendars .. go figure!! If anyone can offer third party integration suggestions I would be really grateful.
First thing I noticed was that if I asked for my appointments for today, tomorrow, January etc it completely ignores my all day events .... I'm in the UK and I found a workaround for this by setting the language in the Google Home app to English (United States), apparently the U.S.A get new software versions earlier, indeed after this tweak in settings the Google Assistant recognises and reads out all day events.
The above regional fix however does not offer a solution for adding an all day event. The Google assistant does not recognise ' hey google add a new all day event' it still insists on asking for a time and if you say 'all day' for the time, it does not accept - anyone have a workaround or solution for this?
One other very annoying ommission is lack of integration with Google Keep. If I access my calendar via web browser, Googe Keep is tightly integrated for lists and nots, yet the Google Home team who seem to lacking a single iota of common sense have completley ommitted the option to use Google Keep for notes, lists and shopping list. - can anyone offer a solution or workaround?
The last and equally as annoying is if I say for example 'hey google what are my appointments for January' the reply is something like 'you have 8 appointments in January, here are your first 3' - who at Google in their infinite wisdom decided that everyone on the planet will only need to hear their next 3 appointments? Actually beginning to think that the people driving Google Home do NOT have an single grain of common sense between them. - Anyone have a solution or work around?
There are some other gripes like when adding an apointment using voice I don't have the option of adding a location, which is very important quite often I find....
Apologies for long-winded post wanted to put it all out there in case anyone would like to share solutions, altertive solutions to Google Calendar or thoughts....
I second all you've said. No integration with G Suite calendars either. Had to return mine.
Does anyone know which services/systems apps need to be running for google timeline history to work? I have limited data and battery usage on most things and it seems something is stopping google location history from working properly. Any suggestions?
