(?) Storage nearly full notification, how to remove? - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Basically all I want to know is how to stop, remove or otherwise prevent the 'internal storage is 75% full' notification that appears fairly often.
Better yet how do I move all my files from the phone to the SD card? Mainly photos if I'm honest.
I've tried searching but to be fair the XDA Premium app search function is rubbish, I preferred the free app search feature.

Ride it like you downhill it.

Long touch the notification and select app info, uncheck show notigication or force stop the app

Use a file manager I use antek like previously said you can just stop notifications of the application.. Also download clean master (or something along the lines) it will allow you to clean your cache of all apps and it will also show you big files in order of size so if there are any unwanted its easier to remove

[Q] Launch app when rebooting

I have a third party keyboard, but after reboot android reverts to the default keyboard. Therefore before I can change input type from a message, I have to launch the keyboard app from my app launcher, select that keyboard under settings, then finally under input type it will let me select the third party keyboard. Is it possible to tell an app to run automatically after reboot so that I can switch keyboards automatically from the messaging app without having to launch it after every reboot, or even more pleasing would be for it to be the default keyboard. I'm running aosp 2.3.3 20110307. Thanks in advance!
What third party.keyboard are you referring to?
Is the keyboard app on your sd card. Could be the issue if it's being used via apps2sd.

I'm using shiftkey, and it is on the sd card. how can I move it to the internal storage?
In your application settings, it should show an option to move it to your internal storage area. But if you're using App2SD, I don't know if it'll allow you or not. I stop messing with that once I got Firerat down. Check it out if you have the time; it's well worth the trouble.

Disappearing Apps!

This is ridiculous man. I've had 3 moto phones now and have never seen it like this! Every reboot I lose at least 5. The XDA app is cursed on this phone, not to mention others.
Before you ask, I didn't transfer anything to the media area.
This is silly, and needs to get sorted out soon.

Same thing happening to me. Annoying to say the least.

You want to know how bad it was the last time my phone was rebooted? (which was from a battery pull due to the XDA app freezing up the phone) - I had 5 1/2 pages of apps before - now I have 4 1/2.
This is wild...
Just got the bionic
And the same thing has happened to me
Kinda annoying

Ok... I won't ask if you transfered anything to the media area.
What I will ask is if you transfered your file which are in the media area back to the phone.
Some apps will install to the media area by default. You need to move them to the phone in manage apps.
Go to manage apps and select the media area tab. Make sure you go down the line and ensure there are no checks in any boxes.
If you have any, move those apps to phone if you don't want them top disappear.

You're a boss.
Just did what you said. I will report back at the end of the day if I lost any apps.

Not so fast
I just followed the recommendation to the T. And when I attempt to uncheck the box, I get a screen that allows me to move the app back to the phone.
So I next tried to move the app back to the phone, but when I do, I get a popup that states: "FAILED TO MOVE APPLICATION". Repeated tries yield the same results.
The QC on this phone is rubbish.
+1 ... I usually lose XDA, Netflix, and Madden 12. Madden 12 won't even show up in the market for me either although I have paid for it.
If the app you're trying to movve is already missing try re-installing it from the market before you move it to keep your data.
The apps which disapeared all start with "COM." And will have to be re-installed before you can move them.

When I download apps from Android Market, the Bionic occasionally (rarely) throws an insufficient storage message just prior to installation, despite have >2GB of application storage available. The downloaded file just disappears after that.
If I had to guess, when my apps disappear, they do so during automatic updates.
If you get that error, most likely it was trying to save an app to your media area.
Re-download and install the app.
Once install is complete, send the app back to phone asap. Get it out of the media area.

UN mounting and re mounting the internal storage works. So does restarting the launcher after the initial boot. You can use a task manager to kill the home process... When it restarts all my apps re appear
Weak we have to go through all that trouble... But it is better than no fix at all.
Losing apps is not Bionic specific
Dear All:
My lg revolution does the same thing, when I reboot phone not all the apps load. It seems to be software related aka Android glitches. The apps I have installed to the external SD card are the ones that are sometimes lost. Internal memory apps never get lost. BTW my wife's Fascinate the same thing.

What class SD card are you using? Try a slower class card. It also might be the brand is not compatible.
Your SD card is the problem.

I had this problem as well, and after doing a bit of searching around, this is what I came up with. This is apparently a problem plaguing the Bionic right now, and will hopefully be fixed with the soon to come OTA update. When you download apps, go to settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Media Area, and uncheck the apps that you want the phone to not delete, or if it's a new app you just downloaded, make sure it ISN'T checked. In a sense, sometimes the phone will save apps to the SD card (when the box is checked) automatically besides the standard internal memory, therefore when the phone reboots, it might not read the apps in your SD memory very well. So until the OTA udpate comes through, just double check in this area that all apps are unchecked (unless it's Backbreaker, or something). For instance, my DroidForums application kept uninstalling itself, and after checking the Media Area, I noticed that the box beside the name was "checked." After unchecking, it is no longer removing itself.

Since you're on 4.1, i bet it's the annoying media_scanner "bug".
Solution #1:
- Install Rescan Media from the Play Store and disable media scanner (A pain in the ass after one day)
Solution #2:
- Remove big photo albums (100+ photos), remove games and delete directories with a lot of files (check /android/data after you've uninstalled apps/games)
q/a section go there search wakelocks thread and read about memory leak
you shouldnt be doing jb if you dont know basics buddy as its under development

Go to settings, apps, navigate to all, scroll down to media something, click on it, select stop, select disable.
That or use a freeze procedure from titanium backuo or romtoolbox pro. Backup app before freezing thought
Many ways to Rome should one not work

True functional app autokiller

Hi all!
My question sound's like this...is there any app (payd or not) which definetlly do his work? I mean, when you tick the app which you want to kill for a defined period of time, the app truelly kill that app pour a la long free memory espace. Get it?
The ideea is that when you want to make an app never be active, this app which I want to know, to help you.
Lets take an exemple : the "Phone" app. It remains in phone memory ram and consumes it, and I can't get rid of it.
Hope somebody understands what I have written

The important apps will reappear no matter how many times you kill them.
And talking about the task killers, android has its own task management system and it is advisable not to use the task killer apps..

Ok then, but is it normal to have on jb less than 70 free memory?! :|

'Free' memory is wasted memory. It's part of Linux memory management. You should only worry if apps go slow or something.

I use App Quarantine to lock/freeze apps I dont use often, if I want to use the app I locked just unlock it from the list just easy & simple in use. This is the app u was searching for . It really does the job. Check playstore its free
I kinda face same problem for example my WIFI is off and my 3G is also off I am not using what's app, viber, facebook at that moment but still I see these apps on background and they are consuming my phone's ram. I stopped them and somehow they comeback again.

Is there a way of disabling the mobile data warning?

Specifically the one in this screenshot http://imgur.com/THpg57A
I like to toggle mobile data on/off as needed and this is incredibly annoying.
Thanks .
Just go to setting>data usage, adjust the data warning line(yellow)

That's not it, the warning has nothing to do with that. It's specific to Sony devices.
Download the app elixir2 open it up and select system apps. Go to phone and select view details, scroll down to services and search for DataTrafficExceptMmsNotifier and disable iz
Thanks, worked perfectly for the notification when disabling data.
Now I just need a way of disabling this popup when data is enabled and I'll be happy.
