It doesnt matter what ROM I install on my NookHD+. CM-10.1.3 RC, CM10, Nightlies, Every Rom feels like it's an alpha version. I have tried many Rom's and I now know that it isnt the Rom. I think I might just have to delete system files from previous Rom's but I'm kind of a noob and I don't know how , Someone please help me.
I figured it out, I wiped all my files and re-rooted my nook installed cm 10.1.3 RC2

I recovered back to froyo from cm7 7.0.3 thinking I would give the gingerbread update a try. After seeing what bugs they had on gingerbread I went back fresh to cm7. I have cm7 7.0.3 on it no problem but when I try to put the newest nightly on it it does'nt do anything. It will download the nightly but when I tap it to install it say it will boot into recovery but dose'nt. I've tried it with 86,87 nightlys and it has done the same thing. Any help would be nice. Thanks.
I think any nightly at 82 or beyond requires a new boot loader, or some such, as the Linux kernel has been updated. You might also run into this battery issue with the new kernel. I could be wrong though; haven't had the time to look into it too much.
I flashed with the stable build of CM7 on my N1. This the first time I have flashed it.
For awhile it was working ok. There were a few bugs here and there, but no showstoppers.
But now, the Launcher has decided to not work at all. It's completely unresponsive to any touch, and it's in an infinite FC loop. My phone is useless now. I've rebooted, powered off, cleaned the cache -- nothing is working.
My question is... can I flash it back to stock? This is beyond frustrating, and I'd rather just stick with a no frills stock OS without all the bells and whistles.
Yes, read the wiki's on how to flash to stock.
Did you do a full wipe before flashing cm7? This include welling the system partition
i followed each and every step of the CM7 instructions.
thanks! i will look into it.
If you flashed CM 7.1 Then i had the same problems as my N1 locked solid.
After a few minutes of flashing it used to become unresponsive and all.
I tried everything but sadly havent been able to find a solution.
I say you should try Cm 7.0.3 That is very stable. I am currently using that and am loving it!!
Hi,
I wish to revert back to cm 7.2 from cm10. I wasn't able to find a conclusive thread which could help with the same. I tried wiping and flashing cm7.2 using CWM but later realized it only flashes update packages. Since cm10 is more updated, nothing happened except a format. Kindly help me with this. I am having lots of trouble with cm10 and its affecting my work

I think the smartest way is get back to a stock GB rom using smartflash so you can root, mount a cwm and flash cm7.2 based on that old bootloader
Hello, I have had a touchpad for some time and but CM9 and CWM on it some time ago, but it started having some issues recently. So I figured I should try and reinstall a newer version of CM and start from scratch.
I went to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2026692 and downloaded both the skz+tenderloin-1.10.zip and the gapps zip.
I then placed those into the Download folder on the touchpad.
This is where things took a turn. I rebooted to get into CWM, upon selecting it from the boot menu it kept restarting back to the boot menu. After a few tries it got into CWM. I then wiped the data and did a factory reset, wiped the cache, and then wiped the dalvik like the post said to do. I then went to install zip from sdcard. Found the skz+tenderloin zip and chose to install that. CWM says it starts to install but then before the progress bar fills up at all...it resets back to the bootloader.
At this point I am at a loss with what to do and I would really appreciate any help I can get with this.
UPDATE: I figured starting from scratch would be the best bet, so I have uninstalled CM9 and CWM using ACMEUninstall. Now I am wondering if it is worth using CM10 as my default Android or should I stick with the best CM9.
Either way, if I should use CM9 or 10 can someone either help me or point me in the right direction for the best tutorial on doing this properly?
Restore a backup then DL an updated version of CM9 to flash or upgrade to ACMEInstaller3 to give you a larger system partition along with the latest version of CWM in order to install a CM10 rom apart from oats which does not require the extra space .
There are numerous guides and you should probably read up on a little bit before just flashing a rom to avoid the problems you are having .

The issue I am encountering is there is a ton of info out there, some outdated some not. I restored back to stock webOS with nothing else. I have ACMEInstaller 3 in the Palm directory, so I am ready to install the most stable/best CM9 currently out there, I just don't know which tutorial is the best one to follow. Could you perhaps just link me to one you recommend?

Should I use CM10 or stick with 9? People say there are still issues with it and it's more of a preview build and not really meant to be used as your standard OS.

I installed CM9 based on the link above with the AIO package. It worked flawlessly, hopefully my freezing/restarting issues happen less often now. Thanks to all who offered help.

I can tell you that I use my Schizoid as my daily driver, and it's not a preview.
I have just recently restarted using this phone due to my uscellular S4 getting turned off. I am now back on my LG-P990 currently rooted and running CM10.1. BUT most importantly to me is the fact that I have all my wonderful apps on my s4, I want to be able to use them by using the LG phone as a tether and calls not much else BUT CM10.1 tethering does not work, so i find myself flashing rom after rom, avatar rom, older CM mods, none would turn on tethering, so i flashed a modded version of MIUI for this phone and it worked except for ONE thing no signal, tethering turned on just fine so i decided to look around for other roms and found Slimrom TRYED to flash it didnt work, try to flash actual MIUI roms off there site, didnt work, met with an error in CWM Recovery after some searching I found its because Im running the OLD Bootloader -_- THIS is the issue im having IF MIUI does NOT work is it possible to downgrade the bootloader again so i can restore my CM10.1 backup? I have been working at this for a week, if there is something here about this can someone please just point me at it? I would appreciate any help.
On a side note i DID soft brick the phone the other day and found a program called nvflash witch flashed an install of CM mod. Dont know if that will help any.

I really do not understand how other ROMs deny Tethering. Did you flash the latest 2.x kernel by pengus77 after installing the rom? Did you make a clean install(wipe everything then install)? On the other hand, yes you can switch bootloaders as much as you like, just remember that changing the bootloader wipes everything on your internal memory, so do a backup. Did you try just plain old stock 4.0.4? Should work there. Ask anything you want, if you're still having questions.

As to the flashing to stock i lost the original rom backup i had made along time ago and cant find the original firmware anywhere online. When I flashed CM 10.1 I just ran with it, when i go to try tethering it says "Turning on portable wifi hotspot." and it stays on that no matter what untill i restart, left the phone running for 2 days once and that was still stuck on that before i restarted. As for flashing a 2.x kernel i had no idea about that. But yes when i did the installs i would do a clean wipe and install. Most of what i read online led me to believe that there was an error with CM 10.1 nightlys that was not being fixed for the tethering. So that is why i decided to go to another rom. Two questions one how do i go about finding the original firmware for this phone and two how would i go about updating or downgrading the bootloaders and could i be pointed to the files please?

Okay, This is SFSP by @sgspluss which is a pretty fast, stable and battery-friendly slimmed down version of stock ICS. It is available for both Old and NewBL, so you might want to try that first. This is AIO Toolkit. I know that you've used it and bricked your phone, but try again, and for the love of God install the nvflash drivers because most people skip that part. You have to do it manually and if you're running Windows 8 you need to disable Driver Signature Verification. But yeah, you switch bootloaders with this.
