Install Motorola Device Manager. It has the Motorola ADB driver.
You have USB debugging enabled right?

hello to all devs and sorry if my english isn't good, i'm using the latest Nova HD rom (RC30-73) and i need to use adb, but i can't get a working driver.
i tried the wifi adb and it work fine, but i need the usb adb.
i hope that someone can help me
I think there are no USB drivers for ICS from LG
You can get it to work by assigning the Google USB Drivers to the unknown device in the device manager. It works flawlessly then but you have to do this again for every system reboot.
Maybe a driver guy could add the 2x's device ID into the usb driver to increase the compatibility.

-moto x set to usb debugging
any help?
Try installing PDANet - http://pdanet.co/
The amount of times I've had driver problems (not just with Moto X) in the past, this thing always works. Once the driver's installed, you should just be able to uninstall the software, and the phone drivers should still be there.
If that doesn't work, follow this guide -> http://mark.cdmaforums.com/ADB.htm to install and configure ADB, and make sure you have the most up to date versions. Consider also installing the latest Google USB driver when doing so.
Also keep in mind, unfortunately there have been many with Windows 8/8.1 that have run into issues using ADB.
Please be sure to post back exactly what fixes/helps you so it can help others that might run into this issue.
Thanks all for the suggestions.
Looks like I fixed it by going in device manager and uninstalling the drivers. I uninstalled the ADB drivers (by showing hidden devices in device manager) and also the Motorola device.
Then I rebooted, and reinstalled motorola manager.
I am running the latest nightly of omnirom and I am developing and testing an app to be published to Google Play, I cannot test the app over adb however because I cannot get adb to connect. Upon connecting my device to my computer, the drivers fail to install.
USB Debugging is enabled
adb devices returns empty
adb over network disabled
media file transfer disabled
Version: 4.4.4-20140730-n801x-NIGHTLY
Kernel Versoin: 3.0.64-OMNI-gbd32646
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Have you installed the sammy drivers?

I have the official drivers for my tablet installed but it is still not recognized over ADB, I also installed the samsung usb drivers with no luck.
In general, most AOSP-derived firmwares use Google's drivers.
I'll check my N8013 this weekend, but I have had no ADB issues in the past. That said, I run Linux which is FAR less finicky than Windows is as far as ADB is concerned.
I'm looking to port app restores - mostly game saves - from my old phone to the Droid Turbo. I've used Helium in the past but I can't get the Turbo to connect to Windows 7 yet. I've been trying to use the drivers linked from the Helium URL and here, but without success.
Anyone have luck tracking down USB drivers?
Any suggestions other than Helium?
Update:
Looks like the Motorola drivers started working as soon as I posted this (of course...).
This one was driving me nuts the last two days. On Win8.1 x64, the driver wouldn't auto-load when the device was plugged in. Until I saw your edit reason, I didn't even think to go through the manual device list and select the driver manually. "ADB Interface/Mot Composite ADB Interface" worked for me, as well.
Also, if you change your USB Storage mode on the phone, it may also change how the ADB Interface is detected. I had to manually add the ADB Interface driver a second time when I turned on MTP mode for the USB Storage connection. I had had it previously disabled while trying to figure out the ADB issues, once I had ADB working, I re-enabled MTP and subsequently Windows "forgot" the ADB device driver again.
For others: I had to go through the device manager, pick the unknown adb device and update drivers, pick drivers, select the clockworkmod section on the left and instead of mot composite I had to use the first option, android composite adb interface. Now my mtp connection works. Haven't tried reconnecting yet so it may well forget the drivers again, but at least I know what to do now!
Need the drivers from google sdk kit. Just google search installing adb drivers. I used helium fine.
