this app will wakeup the screen when a notification comes.

Wake from standby app

Hello,
today l recieved the Desire HD, l'm the happiest man alive
l have an idea. Is there an app, which can wake up the phone from standby using the accelerometer? l mean, when the phone is on a table and it is in standby, when l grab it and move it to wake it? l would like such app, because the power button is not really comfortable. Аnd when you put it manually in standby (push the power button) to be able to wake it only with another push (as when in the pocket the phone will be always on).
Thanks!
+1 good idea, i wonder if there's anything out there..

+1 REALLY Good idea!
1 thing missing. The app should use the proximity sensor. I don't want it to wake whilst in my pocket

That's why l suggested when you turn the standby with the power button, to be able to wake it only with the power button. Then when you walk, it will not turn on when in your pocket.

Floating touch like on xperia sola?

Hey guys, its known that the sp has the same floating touch hardware as xperia sola. Sadly sony installed chrome as default browser wich doesnt support hovering. Can anyone of you install next browser or opera to test weather hovering over a link gives you a mouseover?
Also try weather hiverring on flipboard works like on sgs4. Please report here!

I can scroll pages by hovering in chrome, but I don't think pop-ups like the Note 2 are possible.

It works on every app for me all....is there a way to disable this....coz sometimes while playing games...just by keeping the finger near the screens moves the character in the games or interrupts it.....

Dont use that! Thats for gingerbread it will mess up your phone! What we are talking about is using the phone without touching the screen. This is included in the xperia sp already, no need for any mod i will give you instructions how to do that:
-make sure glovemod is enabled
-go to the lockscreen and hover over the screen a little bit, not to close and not to far away from it
-if you see the screen recognizing any touch keep that distance and try to unlock your phone without touching it
-enjoy using your screen without touching it
I come from the sola thats why i know that, the sola was the first device to feature glovemode, it came with the ics update.

Ah, that explains why glove mode didn't work after unlocking without gloves. That confused me a bit.
And yeah, Chrome doesn't recognize it as a hover. I'll try some other browsers...

I tested this on a couple of browsers (Boat, Chrome, Dolphin, Firefox, Next, Opera) and as far as I see the glove mode "hover" is simply interpreted as a single touch (opening the link) or long press (selecting text, giving options for opening in new tab, etc.).
The only browser that gave me a mouseover text (well, part of it anyway) on an image was Firefox.

Wait a minute. You tested this after following my instructions above right? You didnt get me. The instructions where for how you can use your phone without touching the screen, everywhere in every app with floating touch interpreted as single touch.
But when it comes to the browser hovering dont do that. Test the browsers with unlocking your screen normal, then hovering should be interpreted as mouseover on browsers that support it.
I guess i am gonna write a F.A.Q about Floating touch.

Huh, okay. I misunderstood then. Still, after unlocking the screen normally it didn't work either.
Anyway, I've just had a look at the Sony support forums and the question if the SP has Floating Touch has been answered that it doesn't. It has glove mode instead.
So it's not the browsers' fault after all.

Xperia Tablet Z - Tap to Wake - Is it possible on our Z ?

Hi guys,
Just wanna ask if anyone is working on porting the "Tap to Wake" feature of the Xperia Tablet Z to our Z.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm9cjyvHuLg
It's a neat feature and I'm not sure if there's a hardware limitations involved here.
I just came in to look for this port exactly.
Unfortunately, my very limited dev skills aren't up to this.
Should be possible though I think.

Nah, it won't be as heavy and ugly as the N9.
If the kernel is supported its possible, like the app pgm (slide2unlock)

You can Try Using Play Store App. "Proximity Actions" It gives same type of function but using the Proximity sensors. Like you Wave your hand infront of the device and it will wake up. Same if the screen is on you can wave your hand and it will turn off the screen and lock.

I've tried this didnt work as good as it sounds for me. so a double tap on the screen would be nice.

Using this too, but not as good as the pgm when I had the nexus. We need a custom kernel for the pgm to work
You can use tap to wake with eXperience Pro
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2225790
There's a bug, though...
Sorry, but none of them work with stock xperia z kernels.
Neither eXperience nor pgm.
Tried both
Ya, tap to wake up feature in Xperia Tablet Z is working perfectly great.
Hope some expert can port it out for Xperia Z?

What kernel do you use?

Double tap screen to wake up xz

I know this is feature is standard on the tablet z. Is the only way to get this feature in our Xperia z is root with a custom Rom?
There's no simple hack or app to install?
I think it's a great feature and wonder why Sony only included it their tablet z
Thanks

There is a paid app called experience pro which enables you to tap to wake phone.

Unless u not planning to put ur Z in ur pocket, otherwise its kinda troublesome for double tap to unlock accidentally.

ePerience Pro is not exactly the same with "Tap to awake" in XTZ.
Don't waste your money if you want this function @ your XZ.

[Q] Double Tap 2 Wake Features

Does anyone know if there is yet a kernel or a way to map the phone so that the HTC logo can be used for something useful say like a menu button or as an area where you could double tap it to wake the phone? and yes I know the features is about the same as LG's knock to wake but I was wondering if it's available for our device
