[Q] Custom kernel for stock GB 2.3.4?

Hello everyone,
I've a little question. After searching through the forum, I found 2 kernels (Quasar and Nova) but I don't think the work on GB (2.3.4). So, my question is simple: what kernel can be flashed over a rooted 2.3.4 official ROM?
Thank you in advance.
well... quasar kernel is for froyo [nova ROM] and nova kernel is for GB but only for cm7 which is 2.3.7...
I think Huexxx made a kernel but since I'm not using Zeus ROM I'm not sure, you should go to DEV section to take a look
Regards
There is non yet for stock GB. Except you extract the one from Zeus Rom and flash it to your phone. You only need android kitchen for this

hydracore till 5.4 will not work for new jb roms. hydracore v6 beta will work
what about speedmod kernel ??? is it safe to flash in new jb rom's?
u can flash rom but cannot use it on the new rom
Kernels
Use Philz or Hydracore Kernel for flashing any custom ROMs.
if u want kernel for any aosp jb roms, then use Hydracore 6.x
if you are on JB leak for Note , its already having Philz Kernel for JB leak.
Hydocore rocks

[Q] Help Please, from 2.3.6 to JB

Hi everyone.
I am on this:
Android version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: N7000XXLB2
Kernel version:[email protected] #2
Build number: CheckROM NoteHD V6
I don't know why but sometimes I (Vol Up+Home+Power) and is CWM 6 and sometimes CWM 5
I bought the phone a month ago it came with a 4.0 version (good one), I searched in here best ROMs (CheckROM came across) download it and now I have 2.3.6 version.
I have downloaded 4 different kinds of JB version from across the forums and none of them have work....
I am thinking I download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191 the wrong Kernel version... I download XXLSC-XJB (JB Leak) I don't know if I have to use this XXLSA-XJB (JB Leak), or XXLS7-XJB (JB Leak), or any other I just download the first one.
Can anybody help me on how to instal the JB version of Android with CWM...
Thanks
are you just installing JB kernels on a GB rom? The phone wont even bootup
You need to install JB rom for a JB kernel to work.
there are a lot of JB roms in the Android Development section. Download and install using CWM. Read the procedure in the ROM thread.

Flash PhilZ kernel (Philz Safe Kernel 3.73 for XXLSC )
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191
Reboot recovery in to PhilZ kernel then you can make a full wipe and flash the JB of your choice. I recommend Ultimate Rom.

Cassie's xtraLIite v11.1 AROMA and v6 supercharger scripts and way you go + lots more but that will came for u whenu want...
Flash kernel, rebot into recovery, wipe all, flash rom, reboot (might be good to fix premission in advance)
You can search for ultimate jb rom. Also you need to install hydracore kernel. I was able to install it and it works like a charm.

First I would recommend flashing an official Samsung ICS ROM with Odin. Then flash a safe kernel with CWM (ex. Speedmod or Hydracore), also through Odin or Mobile Odin. Once with a safe kernel, reboot into recovery, wipe everything using my guide below, then flash the JB ROM of your choice (put it in your external SD card before). I recommend Ultimate JB XXLSC.

[Q] Kernels: KingOfBirds or ARM.

Hi guys,
I have Flex-Icer as my rom. I have installed the stable kernel by KingOfBirds, but I have just found ARM. it seems really good and I want to install it but I'm not sure if KingOfBirds or ARM. are better than one another. Which is better for battery life and performance?
Thanks guys,
ZePotatox
Arm is for cm10 only not for ics based/stock ics rom
ROM: pengus77 cm10 20121228
Kernel: ruggles powersaver hp kernel 32mb RH
BB: v30b bb
BL: new ics unlock booloader

Can I install a particular modem(baseband version DDJV7) on any ROM?

I downgraded from cm10.2 to stock gb and then flashed (had installed speedmod kernel) Mackay CM9 2014 1.7
The performance is great. But I experience constant network drop. I live in India and the stock baseband version for Gingerbread was ddjv7.
Can i just find a ddjv7 modem and flash it (using TWRP) or do i need to see if it's compatible with this particular ROM.
Right now the baseband version is XXJVT.
Kernel: stock for Mackay
it's fine just to flash baseband from recovery, I'm using exactly the same rom and did the same with mine but with a different baseband for my region
EDIT: found the modem you are looking for here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134153
