Would anyone know of a battery charger that will charge the X1 battery, without it being inside the phone?
It would need the charging circuitry, to at least stop charging once the battery is full. I have seen stands for other models, in which the phone also gets charged with a slot for a second battery, but since the X1 charges from the top left and not the bottom, this layout wouldn't be attractive to suppliers in principle.

cbc-100
ep900
i believe its the CBC-200 http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/cbc-200#view=overview
and ep900 http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/products/accessories/overview/ep900#view=overview
the difference is the connector it uses. CBC-200 is the fastport connector
while the ep900 is the microusb connector
both charge the x1/x2's BST-41 battery
Thanks very much Reversedhex, Jonny4911
Whilst looking for the EP900, I came across this: http://www.octilus.com/cargador-sobremesa-y-sincronizacion-sony-ericsson-xperia-p-150426.html
as you can see, it syncs/charges the phone, and can also charge a battery on its own (but not both at the same time), with a LED to indicate charge. €30, may give it a go if I can't track down the EP900
and here (in English) http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/sony-ericsson-xperia-x1-dual-desktop-charging-cradle-p17830.htm
Well I couldn't find anyone to sell me the SE spare battery charger, which is a shame, but I bought the stand-charger-spare battery charger from Mobile Fun.
It comes with a wall charger that connects via mini-USB to the stand itself. There is a space to charge the spare battery (the battery goes "face-down") and a holder for the phone, plus a cable that charges the phone directly.
It works well. The only negative points are extremely bright LEDs to indicate the stand is plugged in, and charging. Not a good idea for the bedside table... but resolved with some insulation tape over the LEDs.
Secondly, it does charge the phone as expected if you plug the phone in then unplug the spare battery, but the LED battery status light does not change colour immediately.
So in short, it's a good piece of kit.
I have the cbc-200 i bought it off of amazon from germany for £30. To be honest its designed well but its not particulary strong plastic. Certainly not £30 worth of plastic anyway, its pretty handy and i had a fastport charger from my p1i anyway so i use that. The only problem is if u leave the battery in it wen its not charging the red flashing light discarges the battery. Which isnt very helpful. Especially wen your in the lake district miles away from any electrical source. Hope this is useful to someone. B
Nice Info..
Thanks everybody
If you happen to be in Madrid - Octilus have the charger/spare battery charger on sale for €16.95
I may just buy it, since the one I bought from Mobile Fun back in Jan doesn't charge the spare battery directly any more...
I bought one from ebay, it was new and unused and bundled with a non original battery, it was only 9 dolars (6.5 euros) including shipping. It came from hong kong if i recall well. The battery lasts much less than the original but it was definatelly worth it. In short, there are solutions to your problem

Yep it is. Just wondering if anyone had tried it.
Looks like a generic charger which you set the size to fit your phone's battery
I just purchased one. I had to buy it as i am in need of a charging cable (lost mine). If anyone has a spare charging cable i would gladly pay it as long as they will ship it registered mail to canada
in the meantime does anyone know what pins are postive and negative on the battery?
Chargers off Ebay
I got one off Ebay and it is working but it is extremely slow! It is a MyBat brand and you see tons of videos on you tube, but it is taking almost 48 hours to charge it to 100%. Can anyone confirm this 3G brand is any faster? Or can someone who has an Ebay account buy one and list a charger cable lol, I use mine for two to three days then I have to charge it two days. Please help and any input would be greatly appreciated!

Email from seller
Hi guys,
I bought the same charger and asked which one of the two metal prongs is positive and which one is negative and if the seller knows which contact on the battery is positive/negative.
Apparently the charger can automatically switch polarity...
I've also noticed on the label that the charger has 600mA through the USB port and 400mA through the mains. That's why it's really slow I reckon...
Anyway, here's their response:
You can use the charger by following instruction:
Features and Functions Guide of the charger
for Dell Streak
Standard of the electrical
? Electric current of import: 110V-220V 50/60 HZ 0.1A
? Electric potential of battery charger: 4.2V-5.0V
? Electric current of battery charger:400MA
? Electric potential and current of USB charger: 5.0V-5.2V 600MA
Instruction
? The contacts of the charger can move, you can charge many different styles of battery according to the contacts of the battery.
? You also can adjust the length of the charger according to your battery, the maximum length is 2.95 inch, the minimum length is 0.67 inch. But you should do it gently, or the charge will be damaged.
? The battery for Motorola Droid A855 has 4 contacts, you should use the outsider contacts. And the charger can adjust Polarity automatically in order to fit for the polarity of the battery.
? When the charger is working, the light is pink, when the charger finishes charging, the light turns into blue. And the battery can not be charged for a long time, please pay attention to the light.
? The battery should charge the battery for 10-14 hours in the first three times, and later you should charge the battery for more than 8 hours. Then you can activate the capacity of the battery.
? The USB charger can charge your phone with a suitable USB cable. When you use the battery charger and the USB charger at the same time, the charger will let the USB charger first. The light is blue, after the USB charger finishes its charge, the battery charger will work, and the light is pink.
Warning
? Please do not take out the battery when the charger connects to power supply, or, you will hurt yourself, the battery will be damaged.

Its slow but it works. Took about 30hours to charge my battery.
Its only 400mA. 1000mA is preference when charging our batteries.

Yes, it seems to work fine, although so far I have only used it on a partly charged (~80%) battery.
The charger that I received works off the mains (110-250V at 50 or 60Hz).
It delivers 4.2V at 350mA (+/-50mA) to the battery. However, the battery is under no load, whereas when you charge a battery in situ in the Dell Streak there will be a drain on the battery while it's charging (depending on whether the display/GPS/wifi etc is switched on).
The charger also has a USB output (5.2V at 800mA).
Given the price, I would expect all the voltages and currents to be nominal (although to be fair the build quality is good enough).
Hi I just bought the 3G commerce one the one on ebay but got it at a local chinese/electronic store, the plate that is used to hold the battery against the two pins has to be stretched almost all the way out, feels like it will break the inner spring, probably wont at least I hope so. I have yet to charge my battery with this charger but will do it tonight and see how that goes.
I usually charge my battery with a blackberry desktop charger I had to mod the hell out of it so it could fit the streak battery, and that charger i believe is 4.2v 350ma and charges the battery from 2% to 100% in a little less than 4.5 hours. We use 110v AC for main juice.
When using this "generic" chargers ALWAYS make sure it is a Li-Ion/Poly charger.
You can start a fire if you don't use a proper charger. I will point this out as much as possible

I recently purchased this from Amazon. Not a bad buy for $22, but some quirks. I noticed that if you are going to charge with a case on, you need an optimal charger and cable. With anything less than that, the charger will repeatedly cycle on and off. With case off a 1amp charger will work, with case on you need a 2amp charger and good cable. Also, the sweet spot on the phone is somewhat small, so it needs to be positioned with some precision, can't just be dropped onto the charger.
Here's the one problem and I don't know if its the charger or G2. The phone charges fairly rapidly. So if I awaken in the middle of the night for some reason which I will not discuss here, the phone will be fully charged and the charging will shut down. However, over the rest of the night the charger doesn't turn on and the phone charge trickles down to something around 97%. Even if I take the phone off the charger, the charging won't immediately start up again. I haven't determined if there is a point at which wireless charging will be re-enabled but all works well when I replace it on the charger the following night.
This is the charger. I have a Samsung Qi S4 charger and it will continue to trickle charge throughout the night. When I pull mine off in the AM, it's at 100%.
The more expensive chargers have multiple coils in there to allow "drop and charge" and also have better charging programming to trickle charge.
The cheaper ones work well, but as you mentioned, are a little trickier to find the sweet spot and just turn off when reached 100%. The cheap ones are good for travel and office charging, but I'd buy a better one for bedtime charges.

These get good reviews and are cheaper. I don't own one to know how it operates, but reviews look good. Ebay also has one that I think is the same device for $10.

Thanks. Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. Using the coil at my work desk and the more reliable plugin at bedtime. At least with a plug in and suboptimal cable, I'll get a slow charge warning but eventually completely charged in the AM.
You won't get the Slow Charge message at all using Qi. In fact I use a standard USB 5V wall plug that spits out 500mah. It complains just using the cable, but not the cable and Qi.
I recommend slow charging bedside anyway (either wired or Qi). You'll get a MUCH longer lasting battery that way. Fast Charging is also Fast Depleting.
Is anyone aware of a wireless charger that would enable the fast charging speeds of the charger in the box?

I believe the limitation of Qi is 500 - 700 mA unfortunately.
I think, but not sure, that you can use and qi wireless charger as long as it's connected with the included (and rather large) Droid Turbo power adapter.

I cant imagine you would need to use the turbo charger for this. Like SBC44 said the speed is going to be limited fairly low with wireless charging. It wouldn't be possible to charge that fast with wireless technologies, at least not with the current technology. The turbo charger moves a lot of juice.
Here is some good reading if your interested.

From the article "Slower charging – due to the lower efficiency, devices can take longer to charge when supplied power is equal."

I dont think so.. wall chargers are more powerful than wireless chargers.. Wireless chargers are still need to improve alot..
Wireless charging takes more than overnight!
Do not waste your money on the Verizon wireless charger. The battery in this is so big that even overnight does not bring a phone that was down to 25% up to a full charge.
Thanks for letting us know. I was about to buy the Verizon wireless charger 2 days ago when I was buying all my accessories for the phone. Would've been a bummer to find out how slow the wireless charger chargers. Thanks.

The TYLT brand wireless charger is capable of normal wall plug speeds. It will be much faster than the average Qi charger but at the same time the turbo charger is amazing. I do not know of a charger that can charge as fast as the turbo charger but this TYLT brand is pretty good. The only reason I would get a wireless charger is to reduce wear and tear on my microUSB port (the culprit for retiring most of my previous android devices).
I also think its common knowledge that rapid charging and discharging of LiPo batteries reduces the overall life expectancy. I'm not sure what Motorola is doing with this whole "rapid charge and non removable battery" thing. Its possible that Turbo users can prolong the life of their batteries by charging at normal rates but I honestly don't have enough info to make a confident statement about that.
Here's the fastest Qi charger that I know of right now:

Is there an actual model thats being advertised for release? Ive been searching everywhere for the right wireless car dock. Im trying to minimize my usage on the microUSB port.
That goes for everyone. If you know of any good wireless Qi car mounts /docks that would be superb. I drive all day every day.

Their website just says coming soon, but Android Police did a hands-on post about it a couple of weeks ago. Looks like the price will be about $80 (!).
I currently use this wireless car dock and haven't had any problems with it..
I was thinking of getting this car mount, but wasnt sure how it would work with the turbo. I have a few questions for you;
do you have a case on it? if so which one... i have the otterbox commuter...
what car are you using it in?
are you using the suction cup or vent connection?
any info would be helpful!

I'm not using a case on the Turbo, but I used it with an HTC One M8 with a Commuter case and it worked fine. I drive a Chevy Avalanche and mounted the cradle using a ProClip vehicle mount and one of their adapter plates for an XM Radio believe it or not. That matches up pretty well with the tab on the back of the Choetech mount, but I did have to wrap a few rubber bands around the tab so it was tight enough.
I've used this one for close to a year with various devices. It does charge at 1.2a but is limited by the wireless receiver, most are .75a or less. That being said, this unit works great with my BN turbo. It is always at 99-100% after about 7 hours on night stand even when starting below 20%. Currently I'm not using a case, but I have a Commuter case I used for awhile and the wireless charger still worked fine through the case.
May be available in the end of 2015!
Right now there is no wireless charger that supports faster charging but it will soon be available in the end of 2015 as it is under developing state.
I have the Tylt and it says it supports the rapid charging. I can't say it is as fast as the wall charger since I've only had it a few days, but it does seem that the initial charge is very fast.
Also, very stylish. The wife doesn't even complain about leaving it on the night stand.
Bought the TYLT when I pick up the DT its well worth the $75. It charges faster than all my other home Qi chargers and it keeps the phone at a decent angle for viewing. It is not able to keep up with the draw of TS3 Viewer though, but not really a normal issue. I use this charger everyday and it will charge the phone from sub 15% to full overnight. Consequently I normally use this charger to charge up my wife's S5 and it seems to charge at a similar rate to her normal Samsung charger. I like useing this charger over the turbo charger simply because it should help the battery to last longer.
As far as dash mount I use the iOttie Easy Flex Wireless Qi Charger. That one maintains battery levels with the screen always on running Dash and Google Play (it also almost keeps up with running GPS ie. Waze/Google Maps) I posted an extensive reply in a later thread about that charger.
i bought the TYLT and love it. when i turn droid off and put it on TYLT and droid turns on itself. how do i keep droid off while charging? thanks.

I don't think any have hit the market yet. I have several of the tilt Qi chargers all over the house, so I love wireless charging.
Hi All
I bought a cheap QI wireless charger on eBay for my Mi 11 Ultra. It was only a few pounds. It comes with a USB cable, but no charger. It has an LED which is red when powered, and turns blue when charging. It's only 10W but I figure if I charge it overnight that's plenty of time to charge a 5Ah battery.
So far, it seems to work OK if the phone is turned on, but not so if it's turned off, which is a bit confusing as when Iay the phone (turned off) ont he charger, the LED goes blue and the phone does the mini-boot to display the battery logo.
When I get some spare time, I'll run my phone down to zero and charge it fully using the charger to see how long it takes.
I'll have a further play and update this as I go. The original link was:

I got one of those for free with my phone and I only put it on for 10-15 minutes and when I picked up the phone it was hotter than charging with the 67w cable
I haven't used it since in case it damages the battery even faster
Ok so I've had a play with the charger today. From a 1% battery charge,it fully chargers my Mi 11 in 5.5hours. In the days of supercharging, this is fine for me as I sleep 8 hours a night so I can fully charge my phone overnight easily.
I didn't notice any overheating, though. I charged my Ultra with a plastic covering on the back.
Anyway., 'cos I don't get out much, here's a graph:

Just a bit more on this. The phone didn't charge to 100% overnight as I slept. I think this is because the adaptor in my bedroom isn't powerful enough. According to the charger, it's 5V at 2A so 5x2 = 10W I thought should be OK but it isn't.
Maybe this charger is underrated but in any case, it works jsut fine and charges up to 100% on my Xiaomi 67W charger so I'll use that instead.
Cheers Steve
Hi @empty.cad well, that's a posh charger! Where did you buy it from and how much was it?
Just to finish off my short novel on the cheap charger, I used the Xiaomi charger last night with the phone case on and it charged to 100%, so job done
OK I'll stop banging on now as my life is complete

Hi @picitup !
I would like to ask you about your charging experience. Some people reported that using quick 67w charger makes their battery to drain quicker during the normal phone usage, where charging it slower make it to drain slower. Did you noticed any difference in this matter?
What is your screen on time afyer charging the phone with 10w wireless charger?
I am asking all this because I plan to do the same as you - to charge the phone slowly overnight with the wireless charger.
Hi @misiek735
I'm not sure of the answer, but I'll discharge my phone and charge it up tonight using the cheapy wireless charger and run the Norwegian Train Ride video from youtube and time it. First time I charged it with the 67W charger and did this test, it ran for 11.5 hours which I thought was quite good. So now all we need are the wireless figures. I'll post up tomorrow after ZZZzzzz
Interestingly, it seems to work well with my daughter's and her boyfriends Iphone.
Watch this space.....
I just had a thought. I installed an app called Plug Sound here:
Plug Sound - Apps on Google Play
Enjoy millions of the latest Android apps, games, music, movies, TV, books, magazines & more. Anytime, anywhere, across your devices.
play.google.com
It plays a custom sound when you plug your charger in and another when you unplug it. Pleasingly, it also works with wireless charging which is handy for positioning the phone on the charger, ensuring it's in the right place.

No, the 67w phone charger in china is optionally free and the phone costs under $1000, probably considerably less unless you get the 12/512 model everyone likes
There is no other waterproof phone with a SD 888 ,12gb ram 512gb storage, 5k battery and this screen quality and a 67w charger for the price
Try harder
It's true. I'm a fully qualified tight wad. Must go as the nice young men in their clean white coats are at the door.
On that note, I didn't pay $1500, I paid $1,000 on Giztop for 12M/512G but they are going for £1400.00 ($1983.00) on fleabay UK with "no returns" lol.
A short delay on this. I discharged the phone yesterday using a 12 hour youtube vid and got it down to 2%.
It didn't charge overnight as I changed the USB cable. I guess for a couple of amps, you need a decent cable, not the cheapy 5 strand ones.
It's now charging up wierelessly using a short USB cable which seems to be working fine so there will be a delay of a day on the results, but don't worry I'm on it
i am sorry if i upset you, please enjoy your phone.
just to clarify $1000 on giztop, same giztop from other thread that does not ship yes?
and other thing while i still may ... some complain newer miui updates has a lot bugs for example gestures stopped working ... just saying .... did they eventually figure how to create larger notes?

Hi I'm not uspet. Here in the UK we say 'I'm too old and ugly to get upset' so no worries. Yes I bought from giztop a month or so ago and they did ship it out and it arrived in about a week. I just looked at giztop and according to their page, the phone is in stock.
I don't use gestures - something I have to learn about. I've noticed some 'bits and pieces' of irritation when updating - some of my permissions change. For example, I use Chomp SMS and gave it permission to read SMS, but after the update it didn't have that permission so I just re-enabled it again nd it works fine.
This all may be academic soon, though as I checked mi unlock yesterday and had 56 hours left to unlock so should be Thursday for me, then I'll flash the EU rom.
Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by large notes?
Back to the charger. Sorry for the delay in doing the test. I got a new printer and had a play with it yesyerdayh. I'll do my best to post up tomorrow.
Cheers
