We have CM 10.2 based ROMs with that version of Android. And those ROMs has its own kernel that has features of CoCore and ofcourse CWM recovery (except OMNI ROM that has TWRP). And those ROMs you can install without CWM/TWRP, you will have it after installation.
And if you want to go back from CM10.2+ ROM you need to flash stock or to repartition /preload partition - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612540

Similar error.
I have the same problem. I tried to use a CF kernel, but the one for build "gingerbread.DDJVB" didn't work and I followed the steps in this thread "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1805526" (Second post.).
The flashing was successful and it installed CWM and superuser but whenever I boot into recovery, it ends up in android recovery 3e instead of CWM. I ultimately want to use the latest nightly rom for android 4.2.2. Is there a way for me to get into CWM? Or maybe get the rom without using CWM?

Hello,
I am new to the XDAdevelopers forum and don't have much knowledge of rooting or installing customs roms to Android phones.
I currently own the Galaxy Note GT-N7000 and just looking around some videos I would love to have some customs rom installed on my phone, such as the new Jelly Bean roms that are out now.
I would love to know on how to root my Galaxy Note if there is a Noob Tutorial for rooting the galaxy note and maybe a Noob Tutorial on how to install Jelly Bean rom that is currently out (any suggestion on which rom would be great)
As I said I am a noob and don't have much knowledge on how to mod your android phones and any help would be greatly appreciated
FYI: Looked around the forums for the while, I couldn't find anything simple enough, I bet there is somewhere in the forum, not sure if I was looking correctly >.<

As long as you are on any safe kernel you can flash any JB rom, no matter if you are on any TW ICS, GB or CM9/10 roms. I am on CM10 right now and flashed it directly on stock LRQ ICS with Speedmod kernel.

I am using Samsung galaxy S advance with jelly bean 4.1.2. As jelly bean on this phone is laggy I wanted to install Custom ROM. So I tried to install TWRP recovery from odin. So I need TWRP for jellybean for Samsung Galaxy S Advance odin flashable as I think I can flash now by that way only. Please give me the link for that. For CM10.1 or CM10.2 you don't need custom recovery. Just download correct files (CM zip and gapps) and flash from stock recovery, after you wipe it all.

Tell us exactly if your phone is I9070 or I9070P. ITS VERY IMPORTANT that info.
Hello .. i have a problem ..
My mobile on JB 4.1.2 official but playing videos hang and freeze the device why is that with dual-core processor
*1* I use MXPlayer and tried MoboPlayer too .. both hang !!
*2* when I bought it at first run it updated itself to JB 4.1.2 and after done ... some crash at Gapps .. I Deleted cache and updated them and now all fine...
anything wrong with me !!
Thanks in advance.
It's a problem depending on the firmware that you use
For example, while this doesn't happen on lpd, on lqg is annoying
Even though I'm not a super fan of cocore, I have to agree that, when you install cocore, independent of the firmware you're using this lag will stop
Or go to cm10.1...
So if its firmware error .. CoCore need time to understand it .. I'm new here with S advance and its devs. so I have to wait for other solution

Yeah, you can install custom rom too
You can also stay on the same firmware, root, then follow the install procedures (install universal kernel flasher on playstore and etc)

Try to read it again dude
Install universal kernel flasher from play store
Download any of the cocore kernel (if you're I9070p then its cocore ep) (recommended latest nightly v7.6)
Extract the md5 file and flash it using universal kernel flasher
Root your Phone install universal kernelflash. Download cocore v7.x zipfile.Unzip it to a dir. Load the md5 file from the zip into kernelflasher, and flash then reboot

Hello,
I want to install Kitkar 4.4 on my Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000(India).
I'm completely not aware for this android installation. So please help me.
Please tell me steps and download links. I tried steps which is i got fro internet but most of the time file location was banned by government or removed. So again tried with CWM but still i got stuck. Now I'm using Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, Build no- JZO54K.N7000DLSC, Kernel version- 3.0.31-906407(SMP PREEMPT WED MARCH 6 19:53:40 KST 2013). This is my phone details. Please suggest me for this model.
Thanks in advance.
Rahul.
I use Firefox with anonimox extesion to bypass the banned's site... But i'm in Italia. You Can try.
The Step to install kilkat are:
Install The correct philz kernel version.
Install the raw kernel and reboot the recovery.
Full wipe.
Install the 4.4 Rom
Install the gapps.
Wipe cache and dalvik
Roboot.

try cm11 by herna (try the latest built by frantisheq) really stable and smooth
btw: full wipe means wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik and manually format /system.

I've tried to install 4.4 kitkat on my note n7000 too but there are too much cusrom, such as asylum, omnirom, cyogenmod and much recovery mode like cwm, twrp, this is make me so frustating, what to choose what to install? If anyone can guide newbie like us step by step and also the link, the best step that never make our phone brick
just stay away from Stock ICS kernel (dont wipe anything using stock ics recovery)
then root your rom and make a backup of your efs (this is the most important step)
now each thread contains all the steps you need to follow, just read them carefully)
I advice you to try herna cm11 (very stable)
regards

Ok my friend
I use this method to install cm 11 4.4 kitkat
1- I install philz kernel+safe kernel for my JB 4.1.2
2- I install cm 10.2 (4.3) or cm10.1 (4.2.2)
3- I install cm11(4.4)
It work to me and I install 3 kitkat rom
Or as he is already on philz kernel, just flash raw kernel reboot recovery and flash omnirom or asylum omnirom or Nameless Rom or DU or SlimKat

Install this recovery
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote/recovery/n7000-CWM-KitKatCompatible.zip
Aftarthat you can install kitkat 4.4.2
Just flash the raw Kernel from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397000
Then reboot into recovery directly (DO NOT reboot into system) then flash directly whatever you want of KitKat based ROMs.
Remember to follow the instructions of each ROM that is mentioned in the opening post of the thread.

Raw kernel has SElinux support and that is required to be able to flash kitkat.

so cwm is raw kernel too. How we know what kernel is support SELinux? So, if i dont instal philz kernel on my official stock rom before and then directly install cwm, so after that i can install kitkat ?

raw kernel r4 is cwm while r5 is TWRP. To root and get custom recovery for your stock rom,you must flash philz kernel. Once you have philz kernel, reboot recovery and from there flash r4 or r5 kernel and again reboot recovery and then do the wipes and flash any kitkat rom with gapps. Kernel with SELinux support are raw kernel, r4 and r5, Asylum kernel http://asylumrom.com/Asylum/Asylum-Roms/KitKat-4.4/N7000/kerner/.
