Is there some type of test/hidden menu I can log into to check if I am using the AWS Band on my HTC One?
Just some background information, I'm currently using T-Mobile area that has also been refarmed as well. I'm using a stock sense rom. On a Samsung phone, I know there was a hidden menu using the dialer that would show me what band i'm currently on.
Any ideas anyone?

Hi I recently flashed the serendipity rom and my signal strength has been fluctuating alot. After going into the service menu using *#0011# I can see that my bands keep switching between 850 and 1900. I would like to disable the 1900 band but cant figure out how. The service menu that im using does not give me any options to change anything. Can someone please tell me how to disable a band?
Thanks

Thanks but I know how to get to the service menu but I cant change anything. All I see there is the status of my phone. Where are the options to change?
Thanks I got it now.
What network type should we be using? GSM or WCDMA? Currently using straight talk.. seems like they all connect, but don't know if 1 is better than another. This is first time using GSM networks. I plan on trying out T-Mobile soon as well.

If you're using it with Straight Talk using at&t then you should choose GSM only. If using it with Tmobile choose WCDMA preferred. Also if you do 3845#*880# go to Network settings and choose GSM 1900 for AT&T and WCDMA 1900 for Tmobile..considering you're in a refarmed area. If not, then stick with the default settings with tmobile.
Hello,
I live in a country where 3G is in 2100 Mhz band. I bought the phone unlocked but it is still showing only E even after enter the operator's 3G APN.
I am not able to use the *#*#4636#*#* code OR able to choose the network. It is greyed out.
What should I do?!
Thanks.
That 4636 menu is disabled on the Atrix HD, download the app Phone Info from the market. It will allow you to access the menu and change the network settings.

Its disable on the AT&T Atrix Hd just like on my Atrix 2 AT&T before. But for the Bell Atrix hd we can access the menu and we can change the network settings. Look for the app NETWORK from playstore but im not sure if you can change the network settings.

I'm not sure if this will work with you, but I have an unlocked Bell Atrix HD on AT&T and I had similar problems at first. I was not getting any LTE even though there is LTE in my area.
I went to the AT&T store to tell them, this is what happened: When I first went there to get a micro SIM card (I had a regular SIM), they activated a new card, and put my AHD's IMEI number on my account. This allowed my phone to text, make phone calls, and connect to HSPA+, but no LTE. Well, since this phone is an unlocked version from another carrier, the IMEI number is not recognized by AT&T. So, the system didn't know that I had an LTE phone. So what they had to do was get a real IMEI number from an AHD that they had in the store, change the last number, and apply it to my account. This then activated the 4G LTE data plan for my phone.
I would try this.

Hello, I have gsm unlocked my sprint htc one and I'm now using Metro PCS network. Calls and Text work just fine but, when it comes to mobile data it runs super slow and I have no clue why. Any help appreciated.

Check your APN settings in Settings > Mobile Data > Access Point Name to see if they match these: http://unlockandrepair.com/metropcs-internet-mms-settings-for-android/
The other thing is that the Sprint HTC is primarily a CDMA phone with GSM cabability and the GSM bands may not get you fast data. For instance Sprint LTE band is 1900 whereas T-Mobile's LTE bands are 700, 1700/2100.

Yeah I'll give those APN settings a shot, I'm using T-Mobile's apn settings. Yeah I had read about the radio frequencies , when I first unlocked my phone to gsm no network providers other than Sprint would show up ... So I flashed a T-Mobile radio through twrp.

The bands are hard wired into the phones, the Radio you flashed just enhances the bands capabilities but can not add bands.
Oh I did not know that. Imma try out the settings.

i am having the same issues but with a different provider. i installed a custom rom now it shows 3G and H but it moves no faster than GPRS/EDGE. anyone?
I'm planning on getting a Meizu Mx4 Pro to play around with but it only supports the 1900mhz band for 3G. I am on T-mobile and only the refarmed areas use the 1900mhz band. Is there a way to test with my Nexus 6 via some app or settings whether my area is using the 1900mhz band? I also read somewhere that if you get T-mobile LTE you are in a refarmed area as the 1700mhz AWS band is being used for LTE instead of 3G and the 1900mhz has been refarmed there for 3G instead, although I am taking the statement with a grain of salt for now.
Search for app called LTE discovery

I think that will tell you what frequency you are on, but not allow you to set a specific frequency. To my knowledge there is no way to do that on the Nexus 6 yet. Could be wrong?
The data service menu is missing on this phone.
You can get into the Field Test Settings, but I highly recommend not jacking with anything....I went in there for a look see, and when I backed out I was somehow in GSM mode and could NOT get back to CDMA until I did a complete nuke and repave of the Google Factory images to get back the CDMA network.
YMMV...but be warned

I believe op wanted to see what bands his phone/provider is using. LTE discovery shows what bands you are connected to.

If multiple bands are available in an area, LTE Discovery will not show you the additional bands, only the one you are using. You'd need to use a service screen to manually set your phone to a specific band, which is not possible currently. Maybe OP can chime in with more detail.

I don't think we need further explanation from the op. It seems clear to me that he is trying to see whether his area has been re-farmed to band 2 1900mhz or has been left at the usual band 4 1700mhz.
Using LTE discovery will show him what band he is connected to on his phone. If it will be band 4, than his new phone he is trying to get will not have LTE. Although sometimes both bands are available so in that case he would have to have the ability to switch.
Switching bands is possible through phone info screen accessible using an activity launcher of some sort. Once you're in phone info , hit menu and select radio band. But I don't think that's what he initially was looking for.

Perhaps, but there is no known phone accessible screen found on the Nexus 6 that allows band selection. Some have used this to determine whether certain bands are starting to be rolled out in various areas.
Edit: I'll qualify that the menu exists but does not allow a selection of all LTE bands. I can only select US, 6 or 7 on my phone.

thank you for your reply, but I think 4636 is not for field test, info inside is too less.

please all not this warning, never use 4636 three dots options menu to select anything it is dangerous to make you lost all signals... Can can search my post in other thread how to write nv6828 value to control LTE bands.
Another side, for OP, to view LTE bands, LTE discovery 3.19 support the real hidden field test menu in as LTE Engineering beta menu. Keyword in below post: @201504
