data connection issues on HTC raider

I have an HTC raider from Rogers but I'm letting my girlfriend use it on her telus account. the raider is Sim unlocked, connects to the network but gets no data. now obviously with this phone being a gsm phone in a cdma network this isn't ideal but i believe it should have no issues using the hspa network. I put her Sim card into my unlocked att sgs2 and once i checked use data packets it connected to the hspa network just fine. can some one help me figure out what's going wrong here? thank you

Sounds like an apn setting problem or the raider does not have the correct radio frequency. What does telus use for hspa?

suppose to be 850 and 1900, i believe the raider and the s2 cover the same frequencies

Should work fine then. Have you messsed with the apn settings? Try tweakker from the market and see if it will fix it for you. Much easier than manually changing son settings.

I also have the Rogers Raider and I'm using it on Telus np. Telus is now also HSPA using the same frequencies as Rogers. You just don't have the correct APN settings. The only field that you need to fill in is the Name - Telus and APN - sp.telus.com.

[Q] My HTC One has no LTE option

Hello,
Out of the box / no mods..
Using LTE/4G Sim card..
I only have these options:
Settings > Mobile data > Network mode >
WCDMA only
GSM only
GSM / WCDMA auto
There's no LTE option in my phone
Any ideas?

Do you have the right apn?

I'm not getting any LTE either and I just got my family member and I phone 5 under my tmobile account and he has been getting LTE but not my HTC One

Check apn

I check my apn settings not sure if there correct but under bearer it says unspecified and I change it to lte and my connection faild

Sorry, how do I check the APN settings? And what other information do you need?

model number is HTC One 801e
access point names:
internet.globe.com.ph

APN doesn't have anything to do with the availability of LTE in your phone. It's the phone itself.
Some HTC One variants don't have any LTE radios in their unit hence you can't see any LTE options.
And by the way 801e variant don't have LTE... 801n is the one with LTE.

Thanks for the info...learn new things everyday..but if the lte apn for some reason wasn't selected then they wouldn't get lte connection right? Idk..you know more then me so I'll go with what you say master!

APN is just a configuration for your phone to be able to connect to your network's internet gateway hence it's called Access Point Name While network mode is an option you can set to your phone to tell which radios it will activate.
Activating the LTE radio on your phone enables the phone to accept LTE signals but APN is also required.
you could consider the APN as a pass or invitation in real life situation whereas you are not allowed to enter/access without an invitation.

Is there a way for me to have an LTE signal?
I contacted the seller, and they're insisting that they sold me an LTE capable unit.
I asked for a replacement unit that's LTE capable, but they might just force this one..

To check:
Go to the dialer and enter;
*#*#4636#*#*
Click on Phone Information
Scroll down to Set preferred network type and check if LTE is an option

I tried this:
Set preferred network type: GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto
But going back to Settings > Mobile data / Mobile Network Settings > Network Mode
LTE still not in the options list

Dont think you can force the option from here without the correct APN settings and a valid network supporting LTE.

There are two models in HTC One.
First one is HTC One 801e which is only 3g compatible and is exclusive to Taiwan and the other one is HTC One 801s which is 4g compatible which is for rest of the world.
First you check your CID.If your CID is HTC_621 then your phone is only 3g compatible.
To check your CID download (Cid getter) from play store.

My phone is sim unlocked, using viper one rom, i'm always stuck on gsm even though my carrier "ooredoo algeria" supports 3G, i have checked and the cdma network frequencies are well supported on the device, how do make i the phone use 3G.

Have you tried going into *#*#4636#*#* and scrolling to the bottom, and changing the frequency to WCDMA only? Also, if you have a SIM card, your phone is GSM. CDMA phones are always without SIM cards, unless they support 4G (since 4G needs a SIM card to work)

ooredoo dz network mode switch must be Automatic

Hey Abdou, you have to put your network mode on "automatic" and ooredoo's network will choose the right netmode for you

Thank you for the reply, but i already fixed the issue, i was a noob when i asked it and i didn't understand what cdma and gsm meant i thought cdma meant 3G, but now i know that UMTS means 3G haha, and that i am on a gsm network, i figured it out.

[Q] HTC First on t-mobile data issue

I just received my HTC First - new, unlocked. Wifi works. Voice works well. Text works well.
However, I can't get any t-mobile data at all. Can't get on google.com.
I have seen a few thread on rooting. Will root the phone solve the data issue?
Could someone please give me some pointers? Really appreciate it.

You need to add the t mobile apn manually in the settings

I believe that T-Mobile uses different LTE bands than AT&T, so you aren't able to use the First on T-Mobile's LTE service. Either that or T-Mobile LTE isn't available where you are.

[Q] Sprint HTC ONE works with metropcs but only on gsm only

For some reason my sprint HTC ONE m7 can make call and recieve gsm data but no 3g or 4g. I have to set phone prefrences to gsm only, anything else and it wont even recieve gsm data.

Could it be that you have a CDMA phone running on a GSM network? You phone does not have the correct bands to get the higher data speeds on a GSM network!

Agreed. All other threads have been deleted.
Now you really should do your research before getting a device. You have a CDMA device and the best data you will get on a GSM network is Edge as the sim slot is only for data roaming.

well i guess i have to sell this phone then,if i want to use ultramobile would there be a difference between the att and tmobile version of htc one?
