Hi,
I am trying to Access via ADB in Recovery Mode. But I am not able to. Is this limitation of the device ? None of the devices is detected when tried to adb.
CWM is v3.0.2.8
LG Driver Version 3.2.1.
Thanks.
Barath
I have the same problem. Downgrading to 3.0.1.4 'fixes' it
Uninstalling the LG drivers might help, but then you lose ADB when the phone is booted

You can Flash any firmware from any region (as long as its for your phone model). Just Flash the Latin modem afterwards (also with Odin).
Also the Kp7 firmware is Latin unbranded (no bloatware from telcel, iusacell or vomistar) and has the Latin modem. Try region southamerica (I know, I know, they just keep putting Mexico on southamerica!)
Hi,
i have ran into trouble with my ACE. The Problem:
1.i started Kies and connected my ACE -> no connection was established...
2.i put the Root.zip file and the CustomRom with MyPhoneexplorer (WLAN) to my ACE
3.now started into CWM, wiped all, rooted the phone, reboot -> everything ok
4.rebooted the phone into CWM -> install from zip -> tried to install the CustomRom -> that failed :crying: "E:cannot mount /cache" and so on
5.now i have a big problem to connect my ACE to Odin... i think this is the same problem as Kies already has. No connection possible in Odin...
What can i do to make my phone run? Everything i see in the moment is the startup Samsung screen an nothing happens.
thanks a lot

Have you got tha right drivers? Also try updating KIES
i think this is the main problem... i have tried to connect ACE to 3 different PCs with Kies reinstalled -> everytime Windows notify about "could not install driver".
When i try it with my SGS2 -> no problem at all.
Ist there a way to flash CWM without to connect USB? I mean put the install File on sd card an install from zip?
Hi,
now i tried everything (i think so). Kies reinstalled, different OSs on my PC, different PCs, Samsung USB drivers but no soultion for ACE... This damn phone
don't recognize at USB
i think the next step is only Samsung Service...
whether somenone have an idea for my problem, please post it!
thanks.
was your sga in download-mod?
if yes
did you installed drivers for the sga ?
because if you didnt installed the driver it is possible that you dont get any connection to your sga
if yes
did you checked usb-debugging ?
But your sga starts normaly? So you use a rooted stockrom?
-ACE was in download mode.
-drivers are installed
-usb-debugging cannot be checked-> ACE does not start anymore...
-no, no start possible, only Samsung Galaxy Ace screen or download mode or
recovery mode.
the issue is not the flashing themselves but the USB connection PC<->ACE
thx.

OK. Didn't know were to put this info, so I'm guessing that this thread is as good as it gets.
Several months ago, cannot remember when exactly, I did a search on freeing up internal memory on my Galaxy Ace S5830L Telcel. Came up on Link2SD and read that the phone needed to be rooted.
Original specs:
Android: 2.3.4 Gingerbread
Firmware: S5830LUBKP7
Provider: Telcel
SD: 8Gb
My previous phone was a Nokia N78 so I was very comfortable "breaking" this relatively new (about 6 mo old) phone. Downloaded KIES and made sure the phone was completely up to date with SAMSUNG. Downloaded CWM 5.0.2.6 for cooper directly from CWM (file called AceGingerRoot.zip). Placed the zip on the card, went into recovery mode and loaded CWM. Rebooted the phone and once more went into recovery mode to check I had CWM. Rebooted the phone, went into PlayStore and loaded up SuperUser, Link2SD and RootExplorer. With these loaded I basically threw away most Telcel apps except the I-mail one and transferred most things to the SD card. I even offloaded Google Maps with Street View, ThinkFree Office and YouTube to load them again a user apps and link them to the SD card.
Oh... by the way I used an external windows program to partition the card with a 750Mb Ext3 partition.
The phone only once hiccuped in that I had to work around the deskclock as everytime I touched into it the phone would lock, then I would unlock and it would open directly into the clock. When I touched into the alarms the same thing happened. Same story when going out. I put up with it since it was really not annoying.
Come this past weekend I read that ICS and Jelly Bean COULD be flashed into the S5830. Not wanting to really go that far I went looking for something a little more "tame"... hence cyanogenmod. Came up with a tutorial at wiki.cyanogenmod.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Ace:_Full_Update_Guide which sounded easy enough. Downloaded the files for S5830 (ccm-7.2.0-cooper.zip), followed the instructions for "Method via Recovery" (including backing up contacts and stock ROM to SD) and voila CyanogenMod-7.2.0-cooper now resides in my phone. The specs are now:
Android: 2.3.7
Firmware: S5830LUMKP3 Build GWK74
Unbranded
SD: 7 Gb user, 750 Mb ext3 for phone
Reading about the issues in this thread I can gladly report that:
a) I have full functionality of GPS together with AGPS
b) My signal reception, both 3G and WiFi has GREATLY improved. I wonder if Telcel is being a ***** and throttling the darn phone with the stock ROM. With 3G I frequently (especially at night) had very bad reception in my calls. This is gone. Also WiFi scanning is better as it now resembles what I can find with my acer 4700 series laptop.
c) Modem functionality is working perfectly. I didn't even need to modify anything, it directly detected the settings for Telcel. I wonder if it "picked them up" from the backup I made in my external SD card of the original stock ROM. This is one of those things I cannot explain why.
Next up... dunno maybe CM9 although dad is sending me his Samsung GT9070 (Galaxy S advance) to play with.
I can't install the ClockWorkMod, when i execute the command "adb push recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img /tmp/"
I get this: failed to copy 'adb push recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img /tmp/' to '/tmp/' : Is a directory
How can i fix this?
G. Flash Custom Recovery:
1) Push recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.6-galaxyace.img to your device using "adb push recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img /tmp/" command
2) Turn off your phone
3) Press POWER+HOME BUTTON
4) Login to your device over "adb shell"
5) Mount /system using "mount /dev/block/stl12 /system" command
6) Flash CWM recovery using "flash_image recoveryonly /tmp/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.3-galaxyace.img" command
7) Umount /system using "umount /system" command
8) Reboot your device using "reboot recovery" command to test your new CWM recovery
9) Reboot your device

Just out of curiosity... are your file names correct? Are you rooted or rooting within the same process? You post instructions for 5.0.2.6 but are trying to push 5.0.2.3. Do try the instructions I placed in post of nov 07 for flashing cwm via recovery. No glitches on my ace.

Hello all. I'm Nuno from Portugal.
I have a strange problem and i'm asking for all your help.
My Ace's IMEI is filled with 00000000000.
I've unlocked my S5830 with the adb shell method.

What can i do now?
Samsung Ace
I have done with samsung galaxy ace rooting with a zip file called (root.zip). I found a file called SUPER USER ,that means it is done with the ROOTING .But when I want to have a custom-rom in it ,I followed each and every step as it is.
THE LAST PROMPT I RECEIVED IS INSTALLATION COMPLETE .when i reboot my phone ,it went in to the loop and booting is done several times.
So i want to have any suggestions regarding this queries guys....
Thank you
I have latest Motorola drivers and Android SDK installed, so my PC itself should be up to date. However, whenever I select "install zip from sideload" my device is not recognized. It shows up as XT925 in my Device Manager with a yellow exclamation point. None of the ADB commands work because it says no device is found, and "adb devices" gives me a blank list. I have tried disabling, re-enabling, and uninstalling drivers (Of the "XT925" device in Device Manager) and rebooting into CWM and selecting the sideload option again, but when my PC is trying to download/install the XT925 drivers, it never finds proper drivers and I'm back to where I was. Trying to find drivers through the Device Manager leaves me with no results. Anything I can do to get my device recognized? When powered on or in fastboot mode, I have no issues executing any command or with device recognition. Thanks in advance!
By the way, the issue has persisted through Stock ROM flash in RSD Lite, HoloBlur-X PurePerformance ROM, and Carbon ROM v1.8
I have the same issue as well. I dont think we have a fix. I have heard universal adb driver might fix it, you might want to try it and see. It didnt work for me though.
Ahh, I see, so its a known issue. I guess I'll try those universal ADB drivers, not expecting anything though... Thanks
Edit: Wow! I installed the universal ADB drivers a few minutes ago and ADB is totally useable in CWM sideload mode! I can sideload files, send commands to reboot, etc etc. I dropped a thanks to you ai6908, thank you very much
I grabbed and installed them from here: http://www.droid-life.com/2013/04/08/koush-releases-universal-adb-driver-for-windows/
Being able to sideload ROMs is going to save me a lot of headaches later on...

Hello
Few days ago I wanted to flash CWM recovery for my Vivid. Its S-Off and unlocked, running Unofficial CM 11. I wanted to install stock Att ICS version of android but I geting error message on TWR. So my only option is to install CWM recovery. I found a PHxxIMG.zup (xx is number, I dont remeber now) and inside that zip was CWM recovery .img. I flashed recovery with Terminal Emulator and whent I reboted phone nothing heppened. No charging, no lights...Vivid seems dead until I conected to Windows I found that Windows detect device as QHSUSB_DLOAD.
I have found a toturial here on XDA for unbricking Vivid with QHSUSB_DLOAD problem. But, after two days of trying still nothing. Script on Ubuntu Terminal wont find my phone. Evem if I know its connected and Linux see it. Any hope for my phone?
Sorry...
AFAIK your phone can only be helped with a JTAG...

I have samsung galaxy S GT-I9000 and Android 2.1.
I was trying to install CMD 10 and as a preparation to install CMD recovery I flashed Semaphore_2.7.4 with ODIN.
Since then, my phone has been going in reboot loop as soon as samsung logo comes. I am able to access Download mode but not the recovery mode (shows error "Forced upload by Key Pressing"). I've tried flashing using Heimdall but it gives me libusb error (tried everything from uninstalling samsung drivers, changing usb port, changing usb chord)
How can I install CMD 9/10 despite the fact that I only can use download mode?
Can anyone help me here?
