[Q] HTC ONE 802W - 4.2.2 How to S-OFF - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have a HTC ONE 802W Rooted with Maximus HD 1.0.2 running 4.2.2 and i am S-ON, H-Boot 2.23.000
i would like to have "S-OFF" what will be the best & safest way to have a "S-OFF" ?
1. Do i need to downgrade back to 4.1.2 and than try to "S-OFF" ?
2. is it just o flash a 4.1.2 ROM or should i downgrade also the H-BOOT to a lower version ? if yes, how ?
Any one who can help me with the info & a guide is appreciated.

You can't have the S-OFF.
Because all the methods here are for hboot 1.44

With the s-on is impossible do a downgrade...
So you have to found a javacard for the s-off or try the new method that will arrive when htc will release the new update

Not at the moment. Your only option would be to purchase a Java card or certain sites offer a service where you send your phone too the.
Apart from that monitor the HTC One general sub and wait really. I am in the same boat as yourself. Just got to be paitient

hey, you can have S-OFF, remeber your H-boot is different from the international one. 2.23 can achieve S-OFF. i used moonsine with stock rom and worked fine.

HTC One (m7c_dug) 1.12.1402.1 moonshine_m7c_dug_1.12.1402.1.zip – 20.2 MB
But as criszz says you should install an 4.1.2 cwm backup or ruu first do s-off

[Q] about the Stock Rom that came with my phone

i have several issues that i want anyone to clarify please:
1- my phone is HTC ONE M7u with MID PN701000, But the CID is HTC_BS001 wich i've known that this CID is for the developer edition version
and my phone is NOT a developer edition, and i don't know what is the proper stock rom for my phone since i've installed custom recovery and custom rom and i want to get back to 100% stock
tip: the phone downloaded this OTA once i opened the phone for the first time
(( OTA_M7_UL_JB_50_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.29.1540.17-1.29.1540.16_R_release_322965_signedanlz8jm3dy4gzqgi ))
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2- about the S-off and S-on, if i have S-off and i reverted to 100% stock rom and recovery will this prevent the phone from updating to 4.3 via OTA ?
------------------------------------
3- can i execute S-off while using custom Rom ? or i have to be stock ???
-----------------------------------------
4- i tried to download some stock Ruu.exe from (Bugsylawson "which is unavailable now,htc1guru and androidruu.com) but i've never been able to complete the download or even pass 30% and i don't know why..is there any website other than those that supports resuming !!
-----------------------------
thank you guys
Wait, if your phone is an M7u, there is a prob, because the MID and the CID of this version aren't right.
So, are you S-OFFed or you're S-ON?
If you're s-off you can revert back to 100% stock and get the ota update by HTC
yes it's M7UL and i didn't S-off the phone yet
can anyone provide help please
Which hboot you have?? You can do the s-off??

you may loose touchscreen functionality in 4.1.2, because your firmware is already updated to 2.24.401.1
So it's better to keep 4.3 and try multirom with some aops rom

why would you want to go back to 4.1.2 anyways? I would stick with a 4.2.2 or 4.3 ROM
coz Garmin StreetPilot works only on 4.1

ah ok, so if you want to go back to 4.1.2, you'll have to do the following (easy since S-Off):
Get yourself a full RUU.exe from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
Maybe this one (if your MID matches): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
this will downgrade everything back to stock 1.28.401.7 (it will also wipe your phone !!!)
and then you can use any 4.1.2 ROM, with working touchscreen

that's only if you get error 155 while running the ruu, but your hboot is 1.54 so you should be OK, the problem started with hboot 1.55 if i'm not mistaken.
ok,one more question is this relocked my bootloader and will I lose my custom recovery

1- you're s-off, no need to relock bootloader AFAIK
2- yes you will loose everything, you'll need to flash recovery back with fastboot.

There is no files available to return that version to stock. Use custom roms or achieve s-off, change cid/mid and use another version RUU (conversion)

Like said almost 10 times a day in this forum, Firewater is disontinued and the only way to s-off hboot 1.57 is Sunshine S-Off
so your 3 possibilities are:
S-OFF --> change CID/MID --> Flash a RUU (most likeley the .401 WWE version or .1540 Dev edition)
or
Don't S-OFF and keep using custom roms (or close-to-stock custom roms like ARHD 84)
or
Wait and hope for someone to post a nandroid backup of 6.xx.599.x or wait for HTC to post a 6.xx.599.x RUU. Neither HTC or anyone ever posted files for that version in 2 years btw....

nothing is free in this world.
A very well invested 25$ imo.
Its up to you, either you pay to use sunshine s-off and then you can convert your phone to another stock version or you keep using custom roms. Don't forget there are custom roms that are looking like stock rom, it could be a good alternative if you don't want to pay for s-off or make the conversion.
You are wise :d
