Hello everyone, I got a little problem here ..
I'm trying to use Tegra Overclock a lot since it sounds really useful but when I install it I CAN'T DO ANYTHING! Seriously, I touch the icons and nothing happens, the only thing that happens is that the cpu freq on top is allways updating, but the app itself doesn't let me do anything ! Any thoughts about it ? I'm using a 20c rom with ddfzl's kernel, can it not support my kernel ? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2403624

Buy the app instead of using a cracked version.

Hey guys
I'm just wondering if any one recommends overclocking my galaxy s
Will it give me good performance boosts?
Has anyone done it?
Thanks

yes if you overcloak it with a magical red clock it will dissappear.
I don't recommend to overclock your phone, just think: is really necessary?

Lol sorry i didnt realise i was writing Cloak ....man im an idiot
I was just curious to see if any one has done it..
iv been using SOK for a very long time now, and the OC never affected my phone (probably on the long term u might say/think but i know this phone wont last a lifetime with me)
speed wise u might not feel a lot of diff, lagfixes will speed up ur phone but when u need that raw power an extra .2/.4mhz will definitely help out. I rolled back to test how speedmods kernal was doing and man can i tell the diff between an OC and just a lagfix with no OC.
P.S
and as for the cloak , invisibility is the only option ? LOL
i got freez on my phone every try i want to overclock it via setcpu,i currently using Grif CM rom, before overclock i flash the OC kernel named ketut, and then installed setCPU.First i was try to set max to 844mhz and min to 122mhz,if i goes up my phone starts to freez after few seconds...i was seen something on youtube that it could be run on 903 mhz even on 940mhz so what's the point?
and sry for the language....
What's the point ?
The point is that all CPUs are different like humans .
Like us people , some can withstand going faster while other cannot .
It's all down to how much the CPU can do
Herpderp Adreno + Tegra.
Yup. Listen to him.

point is u need to read a little bit more
You can try a rom based on stock instead of cm7 and try the cf-root OC kernel. Might be the same though.

Point is, buy a more powerfull phone with higher cpu....

i have s2 now hehe
Going over 844 can cause damage to your CPU. I would recommend not doing so
Yes, people have taken it to 904 and then drained full battery in about half hour.
So, if you're so unhappy, buy a new phone

well if you are a advance kernel dev then can you pls help biel in cm kernel??he is searching for a kernel dev as he is new to kernel development......
BLN, droidwall support. Over clocking (if possible, would be very difficult). Battery saving tweaks...undervolted frequencies....and as Hellraiser said....CM support for biel's CM Rom.
It would be nice to see all these being supported. All the best and thanx for your initiative.

- free from sim contacts bug

good luck..take your time and give us the best results you can
nice to see another dev working on kernel for our phone..

Yeah i remember this "option" too, but it was just an placebo ~1000 mhz -> ~800 mhz, was approved by a bunch of members.
Maybe we mean different kernels

No a really old thread (november or december) and it said our cpu is much more powerful than s5830 one. But it told it was posible, not that it had been made

Ok. I will try if i can
If anyone thinks oc "byes" your cpu, then ur hopeless. Any CPU is ahle to OC. And for ours, we may be able to reach 1GHz
Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda premium
Even if it's possible, not everyone knows that using 1000 mhz speed all day long will bring higher risks...
Imagine here are guys they're using the 1ghz clockspeed, playing games, etc. and have no clue what could happen...
I dont want to see how my ace is frying in my hands while i'm using it.
Well call people hopeless, cuz they are scared about it isn't kind. And yeah, every CPU is OC'able, but.. OC -> more use -> more heat -> needs more cooling..
PS: ACEi is frying in my hands, warranty is gone 150€ for nothing, k..

Okok. Now I understand you.
Before I release, I will undergo several tests. These all make sure a wonderful Overclock is given to you. I wont make a broken feature. Even if I did, the next builds would fix it. And theres only one issue I cant stop during OC. Thats Battery drain.
Sent from my GT-I8160 using xda premium
is there any ETA when it will be released so we can test ?
Hi all.
Dont know if this is a stupid request
I am on CyanogenMod based ROM and i want to save battery (maybe) disabling some cores of my O4X...
I read this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804461
but not working on CM ROM so...
I ask you!
I read also this 2 threads but I dont know if they are only for htc one x
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1630200
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652136
There are tricks to enable only 2-3 cores or something like this?
For CyanogenMod of course!

Hi, you could try with this nice app called Tegra Overclock. I've been using it for quite a long time now and I really like it. It's very simple and you can REALLY set how many CPUs you want online + there are also some other options for OCing etc.
Oh and btw, I just tried that app from the HTC One X thread that you pasted and unfortunately, it doesn't do the job. :/

No problem. I hope that It will help you with your battery life.
also cpu tuner and trickstermod do the job pretty well. If your aim is to save battery check cpu tuner out
But seems that trickster mod dont save those settings for me...
Multicore Power Saving
always set to 0
Max Active CPU core
always set to 1
No way to fix them (various rom and kernel tested).
AND
Seems that tegra overclock fired up my CPU (CPU never goes under 1000 Mhz but always on max)
my phone after few minutes reboots in bootlop cause the temperature reached !
I reinstalled the ROM!!
LOL experience!!:banghead:

You need to set up min/max cpu that way u wont be stuck on max cpu speed and overheat your phone.Tegraoverclock is fine but i am kinda used to SetCpu app.Download cpu spy from market and watch deep sleep that way you will know whats going on with cpu all the time.BetterBatteryStats are fine too.
Hi guys, what app for tweaking do you use? I don't know wich one to use. I need an app for setting gpu clock, cpu clock, voltage and active cores.
Thank you!
Trickster mod is probably the best

Yes it's true but I usually don't set the GPU freq
It's good app too but it was a bit buggy for me before so I switched to TM but it may work perfectly for you

What bug have you found in it? And with wich app i can set to use only 1/2/3/4 cores??
I'm using Tegra Overclock, Pimp My Rom, System Tuner Pro and Trickster Mod.
LoKKeR, I'd highly recommend Tegra Overclock for settings number of CPUs.
