I'm running AOSP Froyo ROM (aospMod-0.9.9.2) and it runs great. I can use the internet, SMS, etc but cant actually use it as a phone which is pretty annoying. I already called Sprint and they couldnt help me, hoping you guys can.
Sprint couldn't help cuz u were rooted and their dialer codes didn't work? Or cuz they couldn't figure it out.
1st flash a different ROM and see if works there cuz if it does then it's the ROM and not ur phone.
Flash a "sense" ROM like liquid sense or nfx... while ur there test everything, update ur PRL then of all still fails then call sprint since their dialer codes will work on these Sense ROMs.
Or juat flash back to ur original ROM which was immediately after u rooted u should of made a solid backup for the "sense" ROM.
Good luck

They couldn't help you because you were on a custom ROM and not on a stock ROM. You need to be on stock for them to do anything with your phone. Go back to stock and try again with them. And when finished update your profile as well as your PRL.
All i see, are roms that are somewhat stable and just about everyone I've read, the camera doesn't work.. can someone post or give me a link with every rom available for SGT Sprint?

You'd want ROM's dealing with CDMA (I think) but I'm not too familar with the ROM's for CDMA tabs :/
I would think that any Gingerbread-based ROM would work fine though, especially with the camera (if it's the same deal as GSM-based tabs, as in, camera works just fine on GB, but not CM9/ICS-based ROM's)
Was not sure exactly where to post this but after testing the latest nightly CM11 I can report it works well I felt like I was taking a shot in dark heard some people say there was no roms for T series version of phone.... I am not using spark or anything with triband so dunno how it will work for other users.... Seems very stable... Just thought id share for those of us with what seems like a rare version of this phone...

While TouchWiz is driving me absolutely insane, I want the options of TDD-LTE and SMR LTE when it comes to my area. I haven't heard of any devs working on ROMs for the device. Maybe reach out to the maintainer to see if they will build for the device to support Triband.
I have Spark, and eCSFB has never worked right once when running a non-TouchWiz ROM on the L720T.
Makes my phone a nice data modem, but a paperweight when it comes time to make a phone call or send a SMS.
Losing Wi-fi calling / texting also sucks.
The triband functionality is built into the modem.. not the rom.. I was worried of the same thing. Tested and proven to get spark speeds on AOSP.
Does this work on nc6?
I have been noticing that people have been leaving out details that are important.
Which recovery and rom do i need for nc6 4.4.2.... You know, the wifi calling update?
Sent from my SPH-L720T using XDA Free mobile app
I have had spark speeds on several AOSP roms. To my knowledge and as far as all my testing has proved.. the spark and or triband functionality of our phone WORKS on ANYTHING. From TW roms to CM and AOSP. All have worked time and time again.

Its my general understanding that all tri-band does is give you 2 extra frequencies... That being said... I have no problems running CM11 on L720T I can get sms messages and make phone calls I do not have any issues with anything else wifi or bluetooth other then crashing when using IR functions. My data is nice and fast....
I would like to start developing a rom for L720T to take advantage of spark tri-band its just hard at the moment with the limited user base... More people seem to develop more for the variants of S4 but not the T sniff sniff.....
If there are other developers with this phone that wants to put the brain power together I am down to make it happen...

All asop roms work on triband. Just not tw roms. But noone wants tw or u wouldnt be on xda in 1st place lol
How are you able to test if tri-band is working while using a ROM?

The data connection is established at the modem level, standard Android APIs allow the ROM and Kernel to communicate with the Modem for all data transfers. As long as the modem can communicate with a cell site that supports B26 or B41 LTE or B10 CDMA 1xA, the ROM doesn't care. It just uses the transport.

Is there a way 2 make the sprint s4 work on a different provider.

As far as I've seen, anything that will work on the 720 will also work on the 720T.
Here's where you want to look for custom ROMs: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-sprint/development

Hmm, sorry if I'm late, but if you're looking for a blazing fast rom for the l720 (also for l720t) go for the ported Google Play Edition rom on XDA. I believe it has optimizations for the S4 as well.
I have the 910T with COG2 BaseBand.
GPS doesn't work at all when I flash to any non TW rom. CMRemix, SlimRemix, XenonHD, Dirty Unicorns etc...
It works perfect on all TW roms currently using TEKXodus Rv3 N5R2.
I really want to go back to ASOP style rom as I don't use any TW exclusive features but GPS is a must for my line of work.
I have not seen any other complaints in the asop type roms threads which leads me to believe its something I'm doing wrong. But What? I have no idea.
I always wipe format my phone before flashing new roms and follow the directions. Is it just me? or are others having the same issue? Is there a fix?

i would stay away from aosp type roms they just arent ready to be used as they have lots of issues but thats generally the case, if you want to have an aosp style rom then just use an aosp style launcher or something
Yeah that's what I'm currently doing but it's still bloated. Also I seem to have 1 issue with all TW roms aswell. Anytime I'm connected to WiFi it's super slow. I have 50mb Up and 10mb down so it's not my internet. When I flash to an asop type romantic GPS doesn't work but WiFi works perfectly. It's weird. Anyways that's not a big deal as I have unlimited data on my phone.
I just find it odd that I'm the only one having these problems. I have a feeling it's my COG2 baseband that breaks WiFi on asop type roms because before flashing to latest tek rom I had xenonHD flashed with the baseband prior and if I remember correctly everything worked fine except for a random reboot here and there.
I don't know if I can downgrade baseband and I'm afraid to try as I use this phone daily for work. I can't afford to brick it.
Anyways thanks for your reply. I was beginning to think the note 4 forum was dead.

I doubt it has anything to do with cog2, aosp roms are inherently unstable as alot of things get broken until everything gets fixed which can take like two years after the device gets released, you were using tekhd which is a highly modified rom which means that before flashing you need to first odin and do a complete wipe including internal storage which i highly doubt your doing which is causing all your issues,

I always format all storage on phone including internal storage. The only thing I don't touch is my microSDcard. However I always done this in recovery not Odin. I will have to find out how to wipe/format with Odin.

AOSP is where I first noticed my GPS issues. It was virtually impossible to get a lock. Then I went to Stock which was OK for a few days. Finally realized it's not the rom GPS in my phone was just garbage. Sent it back for a rma.

I'm on slimremix and its working fine. It also worked with dirty unicorns. I have noticed GPS on my note 4 sucks compared to my note 3 (however that was on sprint, not that it makes a difference unless the different hardware required to run CDMA makes them run different GPS sensors vs T-Mobile)

EDIT: Do I need to flash stock tmobile rom before I rma? Right now running TekX

Definitely because they may check. I think it's easier to go through tmobile because if you try to go through Samsung they may check if you voided Knox and if you did they may void your warranty so I suggest going through T Mobile

Ok, so the international model. So if you want stock Android 6.x, my personal recommendations are Android Ice Cold Project (AICP), it's very feature rich while being as close to stock as possible and it has nightly updates. It also has really great performance and battery life, I haven't had any lag and get at least a day out of my battery. There's also Cyanogenmod 13 although it hasn't been updated for a month or so to my knowledge. And lastly another good one is crDroid. I personally recommend AICP because of the almost daily updates, and features, I have it installed on both my M7 and Nexus 4. I haven't had any issues and if there is an issue it's normally fixed the following update.

Android Lollipop with the Google Play Editions are pretty much what you'd get on the stock Nexus experience. A lot of Google apps, and pure stock Lollipop without any modifications. Some do have some modifications to them, and some don't.

Cyanogenmod 12.1 is really the only Lollipop ROM that I have used other than the Sense 7 roms, they have almost nightly updates for their Lollipop builds. Google Play Edition+ is another great one for 5.x, you can pick between stock Play Edition and the developer's custom build packed with features.

If your primary rom is Sense-based then simply download this kernel, ElementalX, and flash it to your main rom. It has some pretty good features too that you can pick from during the installation. There also is a GPE build for Play Edition roms as well. Reboot into the rom just to make sure everything flashed smoothly, and then reboot and you can then boot into your different roms in multi boot. Just make sure that if you change your main rom in Multiboot that it has to have this kernel, I haven't found any other one that supports it. There also aren't any Marshmallow kernels just yet either, sadly.

Hmm. I'm currently busy until around 10-11pm EST, whenever I get done and back home I will take a look around to see if there might be anything. If it's Marshmallow based though there isn't any custom kernels yet. Wouldn't hurt to make like a GPE or Sense rom your primary one and simply leave it there, I do that. I use MIUI 7 as my daily driver but I have InsertCoin Sense 7 installed for my main rom so I can have 2-3 other roms installed. Just some advice if that helps

I think, what would work best for you since you prefer stock-based roms, is download the Google Play Edition+ I linked earlier in the thread, install it as a secondary rom and also flash the ElementalX kernel under Flash Zip. Afterwards go under Advanced, Multirom, Swap Rom, and leave it as Swap primary and pick the GPE+ and let it run it's course. Might take 5-10 minutes so I'd leave it plugged in and charging if you are below 50-60% battery. Then just boot into GPE+, do a quick setup and leave it as a basic installation. That way you can keep your Carbon Rom installation with all of the data and apps, and just pick that every time you boot your phone. Plus it's easier than messing around with different kernels on Carbon trying to find one to make it work and you have a fallback stock rom in case an update or something messes up Carbon. That's exactly what I did with MIUI and InsertCoin.

Yeah, that happens sometimes with mine. Not all the time though, mainly when I'm streaming music in Spotify or Pandora, or if I've been on it for 10-15 minutes on Twitter, email, etc. Sometimes when installing a rom and first booting it, it gets upwards of 50C but cools down after I let it sit for a little while. Also, just throwing it out there because I love the app, if you have $7 you're willing to spend MyBackup Pro is fantastic for backing up everything if you change the rom you use the most. Like data, apps with the app data (not every app backs up the data though) and just like everything else. There's also a free one if you don't care about app data which I'd actually recommend trying that out first. Spares a hell of a lot of time for downloading apps every time. I promise I am no way affiliated with them, like I really feel bad "advertising" them even though I'm not. It's just my favorite backup app xD. Titanium backup is another good one but I haven't used it's backup stuff. Mods you can feel free to edit this if you don't see it fit.
