Was not sure exactly where to post this but after testing the latest nightly CM11 I can report it works well I felt like I was taking a shot in dark heard some people say there was no roms for T series version of phone.... I am not using spark or anything with triband so dunno how it will work for other users.... Seems very stable... Just thought id share for those of us with what seems like a rare version of this phone...

While TouchWiz is driving me absolutely insane, I want the options of TDD-LTE and SMR LTE when it comes to my area. I haven't heard of any devs working on ROMs for the device. Maybe reach out to the maintainer to see if they will build for the device to support Triband.
I have Spark, and eCSFB has never worked right once when running a non-TouchWiz ROM on the L720T.
Makes my phone a nice data modem, but a paperweight when it comes time to make a phone call or send a SMS.
Losing Wi-fi calling / texting also sucks.
The triband functionality is built into the modem.. not the rom.. I was worried of the same thing. Tested and proven to get spark speeds on AOSP.
Does this work on nc6?
I have been noticing that people have been leaving out details that are important.
Which recovery and rom do i need for nc6 4.4.2.... You know, the wifi calling update?

I have had spark speeds on several AOSP roms. To my knowledge and as far as all my testing has proved.. the spark and or triband functionality of our phone WORKS on ANYTHING. From TW roms to CM and AOSP. All have worked time and time again.

Its my general understanding that all tri-band does is give you 2 extra frequencies... That being said... I have no problems running CM11 on L720T I can get sms messages and make phone calls I do not have any issues with anything else wifi or bluetooth other then crashing when using IR functions. My data is nice and fast....
I would like to start developing a rom for L720T to take advantage of spark tri-band its just hard at the moment with the limited user base... More people seem to develop more for the variants of S4 but not the T sniff sniff.....
If there are other developers with this phone that wants to put the brain power together I am down to make it happen...

All asop roms work on triband. Just not tw roms. But noone wants tw or u wouldnt be on xda in 1st place lol
How are you able to test if tri-band is working while using a ROM?

The data connection is established at the modem level, standard Android APIs allow the ROM and Kernel to communicate with the Modem for all data transfers. As long as the modem can communicate with a cell site that supports B26 or B41 LTE or B10 CDMA 1xA, the ROM doesn't care. It just uses the transport.

Is there a way 2 make the sprint s4 work on a different provider.

As far as I've seen, anything that will work on the 720 will also work on the 720T.
Here's where you want to look for custom ROMs: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-sprint/development

Hmm, sorry if I'm late, but if you're looking for a blazing fast rom for the l720 (also for l720t) go for the ported Google Play Edition rom on XDA. I believe it has optimizations for the S4 as well.

Hi,
I recently switched from a Xperia X10 to the Nexus One due to the lack of update from Sony Ericsson.
We can't unlock the bootloader the X10 so even if I flashed a lot of custom rom and root ect... It's my first time with kernels ect...
So I was wondering on how the kernel is important and if I well understood, he is the one that will put the driver for the hardware as it's the one that can increase audio and put 720p ect..
And I also see a lots of threads about radios ect... I totally understood how to flash it ect.. but what is it exactly ? Is it like a better frequence for your antenna or ??
I'm currently running kernel version : [email protected] and baseband version : 32.24.00.22U_4.03.00.21_2 and I have Passion Recovery.
Could you please indicate me a good combo of kernel/radio/rom that would give me 720p, running at least Froyo or Gingerbread (for flash) and that is stable with a good linpack/quadrant score.
Thanks in advance,
Zyryck
Simplest thing for you, CyanogenMod 6. It is FroYo, has the audio mod and 720p camera kernel. And you should already have the best Radio.
There is no reason to really mix and match stuff at all. The state of the development scene isn't that way anymore.
Some people do fiddle with kernels and Korean radios and such, but they do it because they like doing that sort of thing, not because they have to.
90% do not have to worry about those things. Install CyanogenMod 6 or some of the other popular mods in the development section and you should be happy.
Don't worry about the individual parts until you get used to things, and even then it won't be needed, just a hobby.
Ok thank you it is certainly what I'll take. But Cyan 6 or 6.1 ?
But I still don't know why Radios stand for.
And yes I'm one of those Guys that will flash to another roms every 2 Days but since Nexus S and new Phones are out I know Devs are leaving Nexus One so that's why I was asking forr a fast and a stable one.
So I'd just like to know what's the Radio ?
The radio is hardware/software that deals with the communications side of your phone. GPRS/HSDPA/WiFi etc.
That's what I was thinking about but then what are the differences between a radio on an other one ? Are there some faster than others ?
Plus Radios are generic ? It doesn't depend from your Carrier or Country

If you're go to run Froyo you'll be required to update your radio to 32.50.00.32U_5.12.00.08.

Well I'm running 2.2.1 with 32.24.00.22U_4.03.00.21_2.
Should I update it to the one you said because I don't see anything going wrong. Except perhaps that when I connect to internet without Wifi it's written 2G but when I had my X10 it was either 3G or H so I don't know if it is related or not since I've only been able to connect to 2G with the Nexus even when it was not rooted and flashed to any rom, radio or kernel
Wild monks have pretty good kernels but I have no idea about what radio to choose cuz theres literally a lot of them. I just get really confused with them and
Still looking for a good radio tho.lol. But cyan mod is freaking awesome. Combined with inexus theme and it's the best ui interface I can find. plus I have swype too so I'm not going to give up my nexus any time soon until tegra 2 phones arrive
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I'm gonna wait before putting my hands on the Atrix and other tegra 2 phones because I want to see if there won't be any problem with the bootloader ect... Because getting stuck with a device that can't get bl unlocked is very very frustrating.

That's actually not true.
There's no need to be messing with your radio unless you are having a specific problem. If your custom ROM requires a certain Radio to work, it will probably be included in the package anyway.
Flashing custom ROMS is almost completely safe but flashing Radios can lead to a bricked device in short-order.
All i see, are roms that are somewhat stable and just about everyone I've read, the camera doesn't work.. can someone post or give me a link with every rom available for SGT Sprint?

You'd want ROM's dealing with CDMA (I think) but I'm not too familar with the ROM's for CDMA tabs :/
I would think that any Gingerbread-based ROM would work fine though, especially with the camera (if it's the same deal as GSM-based tabs, as in, camera works just fine on GB, but not CM9/ICS-based ROM's)
Sorry, I'm sure this will have been posted before, but I used the search function and couldn't narrow the results to what I was looking for.
I have a UK EE spec S3 LTE (Kernel - 3.0.31-1153417, Build - JZO54K-I9305XXBMF1). I have seen MSkip's excellent S3 Unified Toolkit and I am close to getting the courage to root my device, ready to put a different firmware on it to get rid of all the crap that Samsung "think" I want.
I have a couple of questions first though:
1. Can someone recommend a ROM that is the closest to stock Android (JB of course) as I love the feel of the Nexus devices. Unless 'proper' stock Android is an option.
2. Does anyone know is installing a custom ROM will affect how my 4G data reception/operation.
3. How likely am I to make a total arse of it and brick my phone?
I'm sure I'll get a few "wrong thread". "Q&A"."Theres the door dimwit" responses, but I'm big enough and ugly enough, with a heavy duty flamesuit so I can take the insults!! I'm sure someone can help :fingers-crossed:

Well, bricking your phone is nearly impossible, just do whatever the instructions says and you'll be fine.
And the 4G reception won't be affected, since the only thing affecting data is modems, and AOSP ROM got no modems.
And as of question number 1, there's a ROM called SuperNexus, it's exactly like a Nexus 4. But it's rarely updated and sources from CM might be a bit old. I suggest using CM or Carbon since they're being frequently updated.
I hope I answered all of your questions!
Cheers,
Sebastian!

Dunno really about Paranoid Android, I don't use it but I find it pretty OK. And if I recall it correctly, there isn't a Stable version of CM for 9305.

Cheers, what do you use; nightlies? How often do you have to flash a new one? Are they as full of bugs as I imagine them to be?
This might sound like a stupid question, when you flash a new ROM, so you lose all your things like email settings, apps and stuff. Does the Google Play app come with a new ROM or do you have to get that as an APK from somewhere and manually install it?

CM is updated every night, hence calling them "nightlies".
CM is very stable, and I often flashed a new nightly every morning.
And question about google apps; you download a different zip file, this file contains all the Google apps.
So you first flash CM then the zip file with google apps.

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to ask for a little assistance from anybody with some experience. I am the dev of the Project Infinity ROM. Currently it is on the Tmobile S5 dev forum.
As most people know however that the tmobile device is extremely similar to the international device and is able to run any of the international roms. Therefor, shouldnt it be the other way around as well? I am looking at "porting" this extremely feature rich and powerful rom to all the other S5 variations. By that I mean just changing some features to enhance compatibility between the specific device.
I was just wondering if someone with any other variation phone can do me a favor and test the Project Infinity rom and ensures it boots or provide me with any issues or problems that comes up.(please have a strong backup first!)
If it does work then this might mean that a few Tmobile propriatary features might be able to be ported along with it. (No, WIFI calling will still not work unless your on a tmobile network).
Here is my rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=54727694
Also, if any extremely experienced user on an ATT device happens to see this, please pm me. I have questions as to the current root methods that is now used and what is functioning so far.
Thanks in advance!

Running G900T Rom's on the G900F soft-bricks your GPS.
Not on the G900T ROM that you're running, but when you flash back an G900F ROM after that (with data/factory reset!) your GPS won't work anymore...
Even restoring back the G900F Odin firmware didn't fix it for me!
After 2 weeks (with bricked GPS) I did found an solution, and that was flashing an old NE5 G900T ROM, after that my GPS started working again, also on the G900F ROM's.
I know it sounds strange... but I've experienced this multiple times, with different G900T ROM's.

Thanks for the info, where there any things disabled while running a g900t rom? Was everything working?
Thanks, just curious cause i can add that fix to the op if people only want to switch back to a g900f rom after.

No, everything works when you run an G900T ROM on an G900F device.
Only when you flash back an G900F ROM then GPS won't work.

im here... im on G900H, if you like, i would test your work
The title says it all. Is anybody interested in a Stock GPE Build for the Sprint S4? The purpose of this build would be a Stock GPE ROM with changes only needed to make it function correctly.
Basically, Keeping it as close as possible to stock GPE for the device with the exception of root/supersu and busybox.
The reason for this would be so dirty flashes work better and be somewhat supported and tested.
Danvdh's GPE build is awesome with many features however there is people like me that need a somewhat stable phone and don't feel like re-building and wiping the phone every time for a new flash.
Let me know what you think.
I think it would definitely be a good idea. Everyone has different needs and as you can see from reading the threads, it seems each phone acts differently on each of these Roms. Thank you for taking time to work on it if you do. If you need someone to test to see if your work causes a phone to glow in the dark, let me know!

No, it doesn't. That rom has been modded to hell and back and has nore issues with each release (which usually requires a complete wipe to even function). The OP of this thread is asking if we are interested in a more closely stock, more stable GPE rom without the mods and CM junk.
Would be nice if there was a actual source of the GPE I have a pure stock aosp build for jflte but its kk no mods no CM crap
