My phone's user interface is messed up. Usable, but barely. I have flash gordon if needed for fix ;
Regardless, I wanted to reinstall the stock rom and erase EVERYTHING. I've seen a few threads on a stock flash with odin to Mf1, And I'd do it if I could figure out how. I don't have international and yes, this is for s4 active. Can anyone help me please?
I had to make a new account by the way because I forgot my password.

Sounds like you should probably not be messing with your phone. Unfortunately, we do not have an easy way to flash any ROM including stock on the S4A thanks to a locked bootloader. Have you tried to do a factory reset? That's about the only thing you can do that might at least get you back to square 1.

G4A international version (GT-i9295) has unlocked bootloader afaik.
I've sucessfully re-flashed original rom with odin. Had to do it to claim warranty, cause have no sound during phone calls (not related to water damage).

Un-check "Re-Partition" in Odin's Options section and then flash.

Unfortunately, he did not identify exactly what phone he has beyond the S4A. Lack of attention to detail is probably what got him into this predicament.
I have the same phone, GT-i9295 SGS4A (int'l), and I'm trying to install CWM recovery, as described here, but I get the same error "There is no PIT partition". I have not selected the Re-Partition checkbox. I got the same result with Odin3 v3.07 and v3.09.
I'm not sure exactly what this "PIT partition" is, but I wonder why somebody seems to be able to download firmware, and someone is not. And as the OP asked, is it possible to get a hold of this .PIT file and make this work?
EDIT: SOLVED!
Using a different USB port on the PC solved the problem!
Back to stock?
Hey all, I'm still kinda new here and I was wondering if you can help me...
I bought an unlocked i9295 on eBay and I got tired of TW so I rooted it and installed the Cyanogenmod 10.2 unofficial rom on it.
I loved it at first but I started finding a few bugs until it made me want to go back to stock.
I tried going back to factory settings using KIES but it won't recognize my phone, I'm thinking about flashing stock rom using Odin but I can't find the stock ROM for my phone.
I found a few sites on google with download links but they're all sloooow freehosts, does anyone know how I can get KIES to recognize my phone or if there's a better way to download the stock rom (ie Samsung)?
Thanks!

This might not work for you, my phone is different, but it's easy to try. When I had problems getting windows to see my phone, I found that if I un-checked usb debugging, my phone was recognized. Not the way it's supposed to work, but it did.

Hello,
A close friend just got a Galaxy S and it came with Android 2.1 inside. The phone is bought and being used in Turkey.
We have two simple needs:
1. Upgrade Android to a stable 2.2 or 2.3 version.
2. Fix a problem with the Market not working on Wifi. (I believe this needs root access and market enabler, or something like that?)
Is there any tutorial that's safe enough to follow that will help us upgrade the phone? We don't need a fancy custom uber-customized rom, just a good one running 2.2 or 2.3. It may be a stock or a stable custom rom. And finally, we don't want to brick the phone, so we will make sure not to interrupt any process.
Can you point me to a few noob tutorials?
There is more than enough instructions here, go for XXJVK that is latest Gingerbread, before that you need working second bootloader...

Read the FAQ. That's what they're here for.
simply follow the instructions given in the xxjvk download thread..
do it without the bootloader to be on the safe side..
the process is absolutely safe.. but remember... 'IF YOU ARE RUNNING KIES THEN YOU HAVE TO EXIT IT'
I'll use this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011901
But where do I download Odin?
Flash the bootloader file man.
It can be buggy as hell if you don't.
Just make sure your pc and phone have a reliable connection and everything will be ok.
There should be an Odin link in the same instructions.

Do you recommend PIT and Re-partition enabled?
I would set a 512 pit with re-partition. It couldn't hurt.

And what do we do if we want to return the phone to warranty in the future? How do we clean the tracks of what we have done?
Just re-flash a stock rom. You can download any stock firmware and return it the way it was.
Would that remove traces of the bootloader etc?
If a stock firmware had a bootloader included, then yes it would be over written and all traces gone.
Hello all,
During my travels in China, I picked up a GT-I9228G galaxy note.
Back in the UK now, and hoping I could change the rom to the english varient of GT-N7000? I am assuming GT-I9228G and GT-N7000 is the same device, just different regional roms(?).
The boot screen is chinese. It has chinese apps on it which I cant remove and no app store amongst other things. Ideally, would like to make the phone all english. Is this possible?
Just a bit of background on me:
I used to own a HTC PDA which I swap roms from developers here and very familair with jail breaking on apple products. Andriod however is new to me. I am a quick learner, so any pointers would be great please guys/gals.

I guess you could... Lots of other people bought their galaxy note from Hong Kong and also from china and they all changed their ROM for a same reason of yours.
Does not the 9220 using a snapdragons and not exynos? I not sure but I thing I have read it somewhere so carefully before flashing.

So, potentially I could just change to the one below?
N7000XXKKA ## 2.3.6 2011 November N7000CPWKK3 United Kingdom (Carphone Warehouse) Download
The box says 1.4 + <insert chinese characters here>
From wiki -A dual-core 1.4Ghz Exynos processor or a 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S3 processor (AT&T, SK Telecom, KT, LG U+)
So my guess is Exynos. Anyway to double check?
ok, so I have downloaded the above rom and Odin3 v1.83 from sammobile.
I have opened Odin3 and specified the PIT file (Q1_20110914_16GB)
I have also ticket re-partition, auto reboot and F.reset timer.
I have loaded the rom under PDA (N7000XXKKA_N7000CPWKK3_N7000XXKK5_HOME.tar), everything else is unticked.
I have the phone in download mode ready.
I just need to know if the above is ok or am I missing anything before I click START and brick my phone?
Thanks,
Chris.
well I tried anyway.
That didnt work.
Now the phone says "software update fail"
I can still get into download mode, buts thats about it.
tried with and without the PIT file.
Anyone know what I should do now please?
I'd say you'll have to find a rom for that model
maybe http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9220&r=2#regiona
You might have bricked your phone by checking repartition in odin. You should not have. Now you probably need to find a pit file for your model.

If you could enter download mode then try these steps
1. Open Odin and flash Pit file only and Re-partition ticked. (do not attach any ROM)
2. After this again flash ROM without pit file and re-partition un-ticked
This should work.

Thanks,
The first part seemed to work ok, so then went onto flashing again without the PIT file. Failed
Back to square one (software update fail message).
Going to try the original ROM, but takes about 6 hours to download from china!.
Ideally, really dont want to use the original ROM though! I'm guessing the original ROM isnt going to work now anyway since ODIN3 has re-partitioned the device(?).

Oh, I forgot to mention. I read somewhere (forgot where) that I should root the device prior to changing the ROM. Is that true? If so, I dont think thats something I can do in current state

CWM is clockworkmod right? Dont I need a rooted phone in order to install it?
Or do I follow something like this? http://whatareandroidphones.net/root-samsung-galaxy-note.html
Yes... CWM recovery doesn't need root.
hello,
Didnt have the time to work out CWM, but was given a link to another rom which had three files for ODIN3 (http://hotfile.com/dl/149302861/1896440/N7000XXLA6_N7000XEULA1_XEU.rar.html).
So, loaded the above and the phone is back in action on a N7000 rom. Wohoo. Just glad it's working again more then anything else lol!
This rom is prerooted apparently too. know idea what I should be able to do now. What does one usually do when they have a rooted device?

I was lucky my phone did not brick, But I was also lucky I made a Nandroid backup on the day I decided to flash CM10 . So I am now back on Stock ICS. What a relief.
But to anyone lurking on here; How would I get past the Odin Boot.bin?
lucky u do a backup b4 doing stupid things ha ha ha…
normally i'll flash back stock via Mobile odin n always 100% success.
for pc odin not sure maybe someone will give u the answer.
good luck!
Glad you have resolved it.
Remember to read the stick threads on the General Forums on what not to do.
Wiping on stock ICS kernels is potentially dangerous, and we do not know what rom/kernel you came from.
Bear in mine of outdated instructions on other sites like Youtube.
Also, we do not know what phone model you have, and flashing the wrong files on your phone can cause permanent damage.
Can somebody give me firmware with csc, pda, pit..and the others files for flashing in odin? Is there such firmware ?

Umm, actually there is a 4 part firmware for Mini 2. It's S6500BVLD2, which is Orange branded Polish firmware, the same my phone came when I bought it. But when I tried to flash it, Odin was giving me errors. Maybe because there's no pit file?
It's here: https://hotfile.com/dl/159174614/d441535/GT-S6500_IDE_S6500BVLD2_S6500IDELC6_S6500BVLD1.zip.html
pit file is only needed when re-partitioning...
But why Odin gave me errors?
When I loaded all 4 files, the Odin got stuck at flashing the included Bootloader. It didn't do anything, as I've unplugged the phone, and no changes were made.
When I loaded the files without the Bootloader, it has FAIL! while flashing the modem I think.

Use official S 6500 (not D) firmware!
This is the S6500 firmware! It's the same as my phone shipped with! I wanted to make it as stock as possible after I've installed Peter's Rom, as I wasn't full satisfied by it, but the firmware simply wouldn't flash, so I've switched for now until CM 10 or official JB to S6500XXLK2 (CSC: DBL, german Debitel). It works fine, and the phone is successfully recognized by Kies.

Don't bother with installing the 4 part firmware. I tried it too, and it can't be done. Plus, it's not for your device.
Flash a firmware (via PDA section) from here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-S6500D and you're be fine. You don't need a 4 part firmware to flash your phone, and restore it back to stock.
Did you saw my problem - even when I flash it with firmware i still can't get to the recovery..
Hey guys so recently I had rooted my i537 S4 active and have been researching and modifying here and there until i decided to get a custom ROM. I found WickedROM via this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2491762 and considering it had worked on this person's i537 I decided to flash the ROM. After flashing I had become stuck in a bootloop and I can't get to anything besides DOWNLOAD MODE. Due to this problem I decided to run a stock firmware via Odin with this one_click http://rootzwiki.com/topic/44121-sgh...axy-s4-active/ ... this filled up until the bar was about 90% and then all of a sudden fails at <ID:0/003> system.img.ext4. I've tried other firmwares with no luck and have resorted to posting about this problem. please help and guide me in the right direction, my phone's been bricked for 3 days now. Trying to boot into recovery gives me the "there's been a problem with your firmware update, please run in Kies recovery" and Kies doesn't recognize my phone.

You forgot to flash the masterpatch which makes roms designed for the AT&T S4 (not active) work for our phone. If I understand correctly it needs to be flashed immediately after the rom is installed (i.e. still in SafeStrap, before you attempt to boot up).

That link is for MF1, an outdated firmware. Here is a collection of stock i537 firmwares. I can personally confirm the NH3 file is usable since I used it to upgrade to the most recent firmware without losing root.
This thread will provide you instructions on how to use Odin to flash any stock firmware. I can only add I recommend using Odin v3.07, as I've used it with the most success and fewest issues. Also use NH3 firmware or at the very least NE3, because anything else is outdated, assuming you were on stock KitKat originally, and you will encounter similar issues if trying to downgrade to jellybean.
Also flashing with Odin deletes all your saved files/user info etc. on your phone. From the sound of it, fixing your phone is going to involve inevitably wiping it one way or the other, so I hope you have a backup saved somewhere other than your phone's internal memory.

When you flash back to stock, you can only flash a version that is equal to or greater than the version you were already on. So if you were originally on 4.4.2 you can only flash a 4.4.2 stock ROM, any other ROM will fail to flash.
