I never try that method..
Almost 1 years I used My x8 with charging all night (GSM signal on, not data on), My device + battery still fine until now..
Had around 67% when I went to sleep. Forgot my charger at home as I was at my girlfriends, so I turned off the phone. I woke up this morning to see my battery at 23%! And while writing this post, I accidently turned it off again and now my battery is at 8%
Whats going on!?

Umh, you have the fastboot active?
And, the phone was hot?
Possibly android was reporting the wrong battery status when you turned it off. Charge your device to 100 percent then turn it off and on again without the charger plugged in. If it reads below 100 charge it again until it's full.

Yes, I had fast boot on. Searching around I turned it off. Didn't think that would cause such a drain...

Alright, I'll try that out when I get home. I was afraid my battery was defective or something.

Your battery could be defective but doing the steps I mentioned above will help rule it out.

Is possible that is this the cause
However, try with the other member mentioned
Thanks for the help guys. I guess it was fast boot... I tried it the other night and only lost 3%. At least it wasn't my battery

Because the fastboot is like the "sospension" of windows.
The OS is running in background with all the app open and all the service...
Anyone else experiencing very slow charge times? I plugged in at 20% at midnight. Just woke up and it only charged to 87% in 7 hours.

Yep, mine been slow to charge as well. Admittedly though I just dirty flashed the update over my previous rom so I will do a fresh install see if that makes a difference.
mine charges faster as a matter of fact
especially while plugged into usb

Same here; I've noticed that battery life and recharging are a lot better.
Yeah, I noticed this last night. I plugged in about an hour before falling asleep, checked it a few minutes before knocking out and it barely moved 4%. Very concerning.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. I just updated to 4.3 ROM, firmware, radio, plugged the charger and went to sleep. After I woke up (9 hours) phone was at 87%. Let it another hour, still the same. Than rebooted and 100%. IDK maybe the new firmware messed smth? I'll try again later and report back

Mine has improved as well, actually. Before, it would take a very long time to charge fully. Especially that 99-100% gap. It would literally take 20+ minutes to go from 99 to 100. Made no sense. Battery charging and life seem to have been much improved since the update.
The one thing that hasn't changed as that as soon as it fully charges, I can still unplug it and plug it back immediately and see the battery percent drop. Usually goes from 100 back down to 96-99%. I have never once, since I've had the phone, had it stay at 100 after unplugging and replugging immediately. Weird.
Mine actually charges faster and I get better battery life. I would do a clean install. Running 4.3 stock with goodies.

Im on Flex 2.03 and Charging seems to be normal!
Just checked my batter stats and it took roughly 7 hrs to go from 20-100%

No.
They broke my signature...
No, it wont cause any damage. Also, leaving it connected to the charger overnight will do nothing. You can't overcharge a smartphone battery, they are protected against it.

You can read this info too on the XSP's user manual pdf, sony stated about the battery there
Just make sure you use original plug

Battery won't be damaged by much while doing this. It would just be slower charging if you're using the normal 5W wall plug, or even see the battery draining while charging through connection with computer (via USB).
im gonna say yes
hmmmmmmmm

I have bought XZ 2 days ago, I recharged it first then updated to 4.2.2 and now recharged 2nd time, i unplugged my phone amd after 30 minute there was only 97% left.. Phone went into DS. Any ideas why it has got such a big drain. Wifi and data was off.

I don't know but you can delete some bloatware which produces wakelocks with a root browser or titanium backup.
Check the apps betterbatterystates or wakelock detector.
You can also turn on stamina mode in settings.

Are you using LTE? I get noticeable less battery drain when I'm in a poor LTE covered area and force the device to run 2G/3G.

Give Wakelock Detector a try, it's the best way IMO of seeing exactly what's draining your battery:
