If anyone built one for Sense 2.1/GB it should be in the Development section.

I don't think there's a s2w GB kernel

If the links in the Development section are dead, then you are out of luck.
You do realized that even though you just purchased your IncS, this phone is almost 3 years old, so most of the devs have moved on. We are fortunate that poondog still has his IncS and has produced his Kangaroo kernel even though he has moved to a HTC One as his daily driver plus his Nexus 7.

Where go we go from here?

Ok , so old news is that eMMC was discovered and it killed a million Gnotes.....
A lot of people moved to GB Stock or Rooted ROMS , some moved to CM9 based ROM's and a lot stayed behind on ICS Stock in the hope that the Kernel fix would magically show up and they will be saved.
Then there were a couple of more ICS releases and one unworthy GB release in a few countries and some people moved to these newer ROMS for the pure purpose of trying the new ROMS as well as hoping that the troubled Kernel is now at rest..
All while this was happening Samsung decided to release the Kernel sources for Devs to look and play with ...
So , a lot happened in Gnote world over the past month or so ,,,my question is
where do we go from here :
In my knowledge , eMMC bug is still anybody's guess even thou great devs are looking at it (my respect) but nothing's sure yet. Then thr's the usual anxiety to move to ICS again for those who moved back to GB .
I wanted to know what everyone is feeling and doing with thr Notes in these interesting times , are they still keeping thr fingers crossed and using ICS , are they moving to GB , are they moving to newer releases of ICS , are ppl rooting a lot more in order to be safe and at the same time enjoy CM9 based ROMS?
Do Share .....
I love CM9 based Roms. I would be enjoying them even without the eMMC debacle.

Checking it out ,,,Stable enuf for daily use?
Well i must be one of the few that didn't run back to GB, mainly becasue i'm afraid that "thebug bites me"..
I think that sammy is going to release an update to fix this (maybe in the year xxxx) but untill i don't get too many problems i will stay on ICS (LPY). Only problem i encountered so far i that i have a bigger battery consumption, less ram to work with.
Untill now have been reading a lot and didn't do any wipes or factory reset, again i did do things through kies and no root installed. Untill some bugs are solved and as difficult as i find it i will not flash any custom rom...... There are some really nice ones out here......................temptation, temptation!!

(KERNEL-STOCK ROM) AdrenalineForce Kernel based on SR3R sources-Dedicated to KM Spica

KERNEL FOR STOCK ROM
AdrenalinForce Kernel fully based on HP SR3R made by the KERNEL MASTER SPICA:
*Description:
-Ive built this kernel as per kosi2001's thread. Thanks to KOSI for the spread of Knowledge.
-thanks to SUPERSKILL for installing ubuntu on virtualbox.
-Thanks to the Kernel Master SPICA who guided me and gave me some knowledge and the stuff to do this. I have complied this with the knowledge Spica gave me.
-To honour the KERNEL MASTER SPICA I've named my system my PC as hp too and I started working on it following the instructions.
-Its fully based on sr3r sources which each one of us can access and available.
-Built with HP Pro ToolChain which spica provided before a week (Thanks to him).
-I tried first with linaro-android-toolchain but could not really get it working somehow.Maybe I wasnt good enough.Sorry for being so bad in this.
-I got overall better performance stability and fluidity with Spica's toolchain and I have tested with this for sometime now.
-Believe me...I am a noob. I have no programing knowledge. I am nowhere near a master like Spica. To be very frank I have just compiled from sr3r sources. I have no more knowledge than compilation so I cannot answer more technical question. Thank you for understanding.
Changelogs:
-the same as Sr3R2 changelogs.
Advantages:
-faster ,more battery friendly in my testing. I guessed its because of Spica bhai's toolchain. I have exactly used the same things and same way as he guided me....Just need to know why I have to do and what will happen if not....I have no idea frankly...I cant explain anymore
Just followed every bit of tutorial he gave me and that chat with him. Any technical issues I need to say...I am a noob and all was because of the toolchain and its master.
EVERY CREDIT GOES TO THE MASTER and those who have guided me and to those who made this wonderful world of ANDRIOD and O2X.

Please give me a feedback which will allow me to learn but dont forget to THANK the KERNEL MASTER and ofcourse me.
I am in a world where each guy is helping me but I would dedicate this Kernel to a specific few below who were very helpful.
CREDITS:
KOSI(for his thread and spreading the knowledge)
SPICA(for instructions and toolchain)
SUPERSKILL(the guy who supports everybody and works silently)
and all those who will remain patient and supportive to test m first effort.
THANKS EVERYONE
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT YOU DO WITH UR DEVICE...DONT BLAME OTHERS

I leave the system management of voltages to the users as it is not applicable to each one of you.I have no issue with this Kernel. Thanks for the understanding.

[Q] Best Kernel for ICS Based Incredible S

Hi. If the same thread is already exists, please forgive me. Been trying to find similar thread for about 3-4 pages here, but none found.
If no, well, can anyone here suggest the best kernel for ICS based ROM for our IncS in term of performance and battery life. Thanks in advance.
XS-ICS.
What's the benefit of this kernel over another? I am sorry I am also new to this. If you can just provide some high level overview

Hi. From my point of view, each kernel has it's own advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, battery life and etc. For custom kernel like X2 ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121), you can overclock your IncS to higher CPU speed but PLEASE bare in mind, even though our device is the same, but that doesn't mean the optimized value to overclock is the same. My suggestion, please look carefully for pro n cons for each kernel in the forum because some kernel is not supported for certain ROMs. For me, I just flashed ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379) and it went smoothly with my Android Revolution HD 3.01 ROM.
I have used a couple of custom ICS ROMs (Nik's and IceCold) and I find that the following gives the best choice of governors, clocking variability and battery life.
Choosing the right governor and clock speed will of course impact on your performance.
Also recommend XS ICS 2.2... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121

It's kinda sad

It's sad to watch all these new ROM'S and kernel's here knowing you can't have them because u can't unlock your bootloader....
And ROM'S compactible with stock kernel are sometimes(70% of time)slow.
I've realized that now aftee getting motherboard with date number 12W03
Now I know how it feels...to be limited :'(
Don't think I am complaining because I'm not,I just want to bring back a little development for stock kernel to show us,stock kernel users that we are not forgotten.
With this thread I am asking someone of you developers to make really lightweight, smooth ROM.
I know you are busy with developing for nAa or some other kernel but I think that other stock kernel user, will agree with me.
Sorry for your time and thanks for reading this!
Please don't tell that there are already plenty of good ROM'S for stock kernel user because there are not...no offense....I a just saying that most of them are slow and laggy

Well, stock is ungrateful and painful in development. I don't like to re-stock 50 times, root 50 times, put recovery etc. and still don't know what's going on because logcat doesn't even start. So I wouldn't expect so many ROMs.
And hey, it's 2013 adn X8 was released in 2010 so it's like using Celeron 433 MHz now

I don't know what you mean by lightweight. GingerDX is pretty standard when it comes to the apps that come with it. Besides anything you don't like can just be uninstalled using Titanium Backup.

Not to sound rude but to open a new thread in the development section to ask such a question is just not right. Please post such questions in the general section.
We do not have that many devs working on incredible s as it is a relatively old device. If someone manges to develop an ion kernel and port sense 5 you will see it in the dev section.
Quite fortunate to get a few working jellybean aosp ROMs and quite a few sense 4.1 ROMs for a device that has no more support from htc so enjoy those and be happy.
@ moderator can this thread please be closed or moved to the general section?

-_- what do u mean kernel...... The kernel is still a jellybean kernel, just modified to be compatible with Sense. Although I dont know how to do it, Im sure it might be possible for someone like Szeszo to develop such a kernel. The only problem is that it requires a ton of work and I dont think Szeszo has that much time..... Not to mention resizing of the actual ROM.....

Yes it was and Im well aware of that. Our phone doesnt natively support Ion and as a result you have to change some camera libs, i think they were, and maybe a few other things here and there. But it is possible and the proof to that is the fact that we have Jellybean ROMs for our device.
