[Q]Unlock now or wait for an OTA - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, my One is model pn0711, factory unlocked, software version 1.36.599.1. When i check for updates it doesn't detect any new. 1-Someone knows when 4.3 will arrive? By default i don't have htc's TV app. 2-If i update to official 4.3 will i have it? 3-Can i unlock bootloader in official 4.3 via htcdev, and then install cmw and android revolution hd rom? Greetings from Uruguay.

1) IDK, there isn't any new atm.
2) Probably not.
3) You can unlock always from htc dev.

[Q] Flashing Dev Edition image into carrier model

Hello,
I just bought an HTC One in Germany (Vodadone) to use in Brazil and it is working just fine. But since it is a Vodafone version it takes longer to get Android updates releases. I was wondering if it is possible to flash the Developer Edition image, which is carrier free, on my phone and stay true to the original HTC build.
I know that there is the dev build available for download on htcdev.com. Has anyone tested it? Is there any tutorial here on how to do that?
Thanks in advance.

You can flash the US Dev Ed from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265820
in case you didn't already know, must be bootloader unlocked, rooted, and have custom recovery.
If you mean an RUU you will have to wait for s-off and supercid

Install Dev Edition in Vodafone S-On

Hello, probably this has already been asked and answered but I've searching for it and didnt find it.
Well my HTC One is from Vodafone Spain (CID VODAP_304) and it is s-on as it already came with Android 4.2.2 installed. My question is, can I install the stock android 4.3 zips from the Dev edition if I unlock BL?
Thanks in advance.

this is a easy answer have you ever install 4.4.2 firmware via rsd lite or fastboot
if yes then your stuck with 4.4.2
if not you should safely be able to flash 4.2.2 camera update or 4.4 with no issues.
but what version of bootloader is 30.71??? i have seen only 30.b3 and 30.b4??one for 4.4 and the other for 4.4.2, so what with 30.71?

Go to settings -> about phone. What Android Version does it show? 4.2.2, 4.4, or 4.4.2?
Unless you or someone else has flashed another firmware on the phone, then the bootloader version will match the OS version.
Its 4.2.2 i think is after the camera ota

30.70 = original 4.2.2
30.71 = 4.2.2 with camera update
I guess one thread wasn't enough, so you opened up another one

Do I have to go back and find the 3rd one that explains how you messed up your first moto

Thanks, thats it.
Flashallthetime, i dont want to touch my phone again, i know that i was only one bite to kill it, i just find something weird (the 30.71) and was asking about that.....anyways, since the problems with moto x bootloaders, and the thing with the post and after camera updates, i would like to know what blootloader i am installing (if i do this in a future) with every rom i find, that's the readon for my other tread, only to know more about what i am installing, i thinks that's valid or not?

Official Firmwares

I have a question about official firmwares. Let's say I flash an official firmware that was not intended for my device. I can see that every country has their own. Will I still get updates when they are released or should I have the firmware that the phone came with?
Thank you in advance

Hello,
You should be worry whether the devices have different hardwares, because using such firmware can brick your device.
If the devices have the same hardware then you can use that firmware and after this I think you will have to update manually.

I will flash official firmware for the specific device. I8190. I will not flash firmware intended for other model. Just other country.
I would like to know if I would still get OTA updates.
Thank you for replying

[Q] unlockable bootloader..can i upgrade 4.4.2 safe?

hey guys..i have a question..i have an unlockable moto x .. the 58 variant..and i wanted to know if i can upgrade to 4.4.2 an then unlock my bootloader..because the phone is really new and i dont want to lose my garanty yet..but i want to upgrade to 4.4.2..it is possible to upgrade to 4.4.2 and then unlock the bootloader and root? thanks in advance
You mean to eventually pay for the unauthorized unlock & in the mean time be on 442. No problem but one, the Guy who has the codes may not last as long as your warranty!
Nono.. My device is unlockable via motorola site.. I checked that.. But didnt unlock yet

Yes, you can update to 4.4.2... and unlock anytime you wish.

As long as you are sure you can get the unlock code from Moto directly, you can unlock the bootloader when you are ready. Once you do unlock, you can root any version rom that is on your phone.
Just keep in mind, if you want to root & disable write protection BEFORE you are ready to unlock the bootloader, the only options are SlapMyMoto/MotoWpNoMo which do NOT work with Android 4.4.2. (i.e. if you want root without unlocking bootloader, do not upgrade to 4.4.2).
