Hi, i have Xperia SP (C5302) with stock 245 firmware and kernel, rooted, locked BL and trying to upgrade my phone into 254.
I've downloaded the updates via OTA and ready to install. When i press "install", my phone is rebooted and install the updates. But in a half way, it stopped and it booted into the system. I thought it was finished but it wasn't. It said "couldn't install" :/

What's wrong with my phone? I'm indonesian. Isn't my country supported with OTA upgrades?

For ota to work you need a unmodded phone try hidding root with apps like hide my root.
Also if you have modded any part of the system files ie deleted, added,deodexed,it will fail.
You need phone to be in completely stock in untouched condition

How to backup current stock ROM...?
well what i am familiar about is on a rooted version you could go to "cwm" via the 3-button-combination to do a "NANDROID BACKUP" and see a menu like this image...

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
just click
backup and restore>backup
(it will automatically backup your current rom, this is what people usually do just in case something happen while trying to update to another rom or custom firmware so you could revert back to what rom your phone was in)
and from what i know if your phone is not rooted it would have something like this on the system menu via the 3-button-combination...
as you can see it doesn't have the option of backup and restore... so i suggest you root your phone to the current stock rom, and btw you should atleast have 1gb free mem as from my experience backup of stock rom usually takes a lot of memory around 800mb+ depends on what stuffs you got on your phone...
btw what stock rom are you on anyway? if ever you're planning to ROOT your phone make sure its the right version for your stock rom... applying the wrong one is dangerous might kill your phone...
So a new update for the YouTube app just appeared that changed the icon and at least for me broke full screen videos as can be seen below. Anyone else updated and have this same issue? Any idea how to fix it except for downgrading?

no probs here
this should be moved to Q&A tho
Yeah, sorry for the wrong section.
I somehow fixed it by restarting my phone, weird though. YouTube seems to be functioning properly now.
Just FYI for the future, it's a good idea to try basic troubleshooting steps such as rebooting, clearing app data, reinstalling etc before creating a thread asking for help.

Mine did, but they pushed another update soon after that changed it back. Maybe you just got the later update.

Prolly because I update manually and I'm not using YouTube much so it wasn't priority update

Yes they pushed another update changing the icon to the stock one and the full-screen is working once again

I just rooted my Xperia Z1s and when I try to install from the Xposed Installer it tells me that it couldn't mount and asks if I have root, which I definitely do. Any ideas on what's going on?
Thank you.

I get the same error on a rooted Z2.
This permission check isn't done by the installer, so it means that the mount command indeed didn't get permission from the system to remount /system writable. If you have the chance, you could try if using a different root app (e.g. SuperSU) fixes it. Not sure what I can do about this.
It's alright, I think it has something to do with the way it's rooted because it won't update my SU binary properly, either. I'll let you know what happens next. Thank you.

After fixing untethering it works fine. This was my fault. Thank you.

It's caused by a sony protection mechanism on /system called RIC, i've since managed to disable it with an expolit script and exposed installs as expected. :good:

I'm getting this message and I don't know what to do to fix it. Any idea?
Phone: AT&T galaxy note 3
Firmware: 4.4.2 KK NC2 based
ROM: Dynamic Kat
So I rooted my phone, but in the process deleted the operating system somehow. Now, it won't work unless I download Cyanogenmod. Any ROM that use Touchwiz won't work. I have tried Sammobile firmware for my T - Mobile Note 4, but the md5 file won't download. Odin will stop almost immediately after saying "Writing." it says "Fail <AUTH>" then nothing. I have tried many options, but the only conclusion I have come to is that I need to get Samsung Firmware back on. I just don't know how exactly to go about that. Thanks in advance for the help everyone.
Have you tried using Kies?

but it just more confuse me...
many talks about soft bricks
and 4.4.4
no talking about 4.4.2 that this is my situation now
You would have to flash all the files in succession. Download a file, rename to update.zip, place on phone sd card, flash via recovery. Download the next and repeat the steps. They must be flashed in a certain order though.
