The headphone jack for your phone is waterproof but your headphones that came with your Z1 are not.

The ones that comes with the phone are with "ordinary" speakers, not in-ear type. I attach some pictures.
Hello, i bought Xperia Z some days ago, i just need to ask is it still waterproof while i using my earphones?
I know it isnt if i open port and place phone into water, but what if earphones are attached to the port?
Thanks for respond.
Water could get inside the phone even if the earphones were plugged in. It doesn't create a seal.
And if the moisture markers turn red, say good bye, to your warranty.
Okay, thanks for honest reply and save my phone
You might know a stereo BT headset solves your problem.
I have sbh50 and btn200. Both work great for phone and music.

Anyone having issues with their headphone jack?
It seems hit or miss whether or not my headphones will produce a good sound or not. There's a great deal of turning the connector to fix the problem currently.
And before any body asks, no, I'm 100% positive its not the headphone cord or jack, seeing as playing the audio through my DAC/Portable amp set up doesn't produce the same problem.
Bum headphone jack?

have you tried a different set of headphones? some people were reporting that their sol jax buds had some glue on the connector causing issues.

My son had this problem with his sol jax buds. Only seemed to be a problem on the Moto X, and other headphones worked fine on the Moto X. Didn't see any excess glue or another outward sign of a problem. Motorola replaced the buds with another pair of the same model and all works fine now.
My dell desk speakers won't work when plugged in directly to motox but they will work with an extension cable plugged in. I have similar issues with certain headphones and my tablet. I guess headphone jacks on mobile devices are not all made the same?

Do you have any MI Phones.
Sennheiser HD598
TPEOS H100.. paired with viper on my ONE
piston 2. Its not expensive but its a blast.
Bose Sie2s
atrio m5's
I've gone through 2 pairs so far. The first pair i lost in a club
I've returned my set once as the driver died in the left ear but they were replaced no questions asked.
They are awwwwesome IEM's, alot of bass though if you like that kind of thing.
Not sure if you can still get these though?
HyperX Cloud
Xiaomi Piston 2.1
Moxpad X3
Sony Ericsson MH1 Livesound (resoldered)
Hifiman He-400s at home and Monoprice 109927 as iems.
i used vsonic gr02 bass edition..
the sound is good..
but the cable very sucks.. microphonic and the plastic material is perishable
i use JBL tempo
Don't really care, generally a $15 pair of silicon ones, only requirement is viper4android
Sent from my galaxy note 4 fake, now revived from the dead
iHome over the ear headphones at home,
chinese earbuds I got for free at work. The earbuds screen on one is held on with duct tape but they still sound ok.
It included a case and extra ear condoms so I was bummed when the screen came off but the duct tape holds it fine.
Sony Extremes, really great sound.
Should I get Piston 2's or Piston 3's?
Piston V2 (white) and Piston V3 (black). I will order the Piston V3 2-3 times again, cuz it's 1/10 of the price what I paid for my BOSE headphones and these are not better then the V3.
Most important:
- non-invasive design (no ear canal design, so it's on-ear not in-ear) that does not go deep into the ears, for example: TDK EB100-like design is good, because it stays outside the ear canal
- bass boost
- the wires has to be durable, thick (because thin wires will break in no time)
You should try Bose soundtrue or soundsport or even qc20 ?

The problem with those is the price. No earbuds should cost that much. I'm not interested in the expensive products.
The price must be under $40. Moreover, I'll have to pay high shipping costs to EU if I order from USA.
I also don't need headstrap-like headphones. I need earbuds (earphones) without having to push it into the ear canal.
Sure they are. Sorry I was wrong in my reply. I have the Samsung gear circle and the earpods do not enter in the ear, they are not bad, and you won't have anymore issues with the cable.
I'd ask this over at Head-fi.org's forums, not here. You'd get a better response.
