Anyone know of a Minminguard type app that works in Marshmallow. Something that analyses apps and lets you block specific types of ad-serving? I know ROM Toolkit Pro was able to do that in the past, but I think that feature was removed because of issues with Google's TOU policy.
Is there any way to whitelist apps on a per app basis so that when the app is updated SuperSU doesn't prompt to allow the app? There are certain apps such as EX Kernel Manager that are critical and trusted that I'd like to be able to whitelist without disabling the prompt for all apps using the global option.
Has anyone in UK found a bank that that don't have too strict control over their app being run on a rooted phone ?
The bank I am with I can't use on a rooted phone it is still able to detect magisk's hide function and these crappy stock ROMs are driving me nuts.
The banking apps rely absolutely on safety meassures, and rooting is the anthitesis of safety, in fact, is a good thing that all banking apps refuse to work on rooted devices, for our own peace of mind
I often hear of banking apps not working with root or tripped knox. Just curious, what do these banking apps offer besides account management?
I just view my banking through my bank's website and in the past not even in mobile view. I hate mobile view but my bank's website is forcing mobile view on mobile devices now. I'm rooted & knox tripped, never tried my bank's app though so I don't know if it's affected.

There is an app that could "hide" the fact that the phone is rooted, from apps like the banking one. Used it on my previous rooted phone, but can't remember what's called (I'm now on a new, yet unrooted device). I'll look for it, but do a search with that condition...

The Co Op bank app still works, I do expect that to change at some point though.

I don't care much for that as I am not super rich and my account is more or less empty at the end of the month so I ain't got much to loose and besides I doubt any of the devs here on xda have evil intent.
I just need to keep track of bank balance so I know when not to buy something.
I just don't wanna run around with a second device from the bank in my pocket to be able to access my account from webview that I have to insert my card into to get a online banking code from every time.
I got a credit card that had an app which always use to work on rooted devices and still does. Never had any issues with that.
I find this extremely stupid that the bank allows me to view my account via a browser on a rooted phone bit not through the app.
That's so dumb.

Well it works fine on knox tripped as I have banking app on this phone which has been rooted from day one but now I am on Oreo stock unrooted and banking app works fine.
I don't mind the webview but my bank requires me to use a secondary device to view through the website that gives me an access code and it so stupid to have to carry that around with me.
Hi,
I'm using a S10 (EU) version, i noticed in new one ui you can disable or prevent a lot apps from running in background, but google for some reason i can not prevent goofle server from running in background.
Is there anyway to prevent it from running in background? The main reason is the battery drain with it...
Guess you're referring to Google Play Services. In order to cripple it, without interfering with app dependencies, you'd need to revoke several perms and disable many services/receivers.
tab s8 ultra used for personal and work. I have the device registered with Intune so I can use apps like Outlook and Teams on it in Dex when I am working. I want to root the device so I can have full access to the virtualization possible. I know that a rooted device will be blocked from registering with Intune. Has anyone found a way around this?
I havent rooted for quite a while, but there are methods of hiding root to apps with magisk.
Alternatively, you can install Island to have a Work Profile for work apps.
