FAQ
Thanks to Wambo_ yet again, this time for a BlakCM FAQ.

(Work In Progress) FAQ
Do I have to wipe before flashing??
Always wipe, no matter what ROM you are on now, even if it's a previous version of BlakCM.
I flashed a different kernel and now I'm having an issue, what should I do?
Boot to recovery, wipe everything and reflash BlakCM. I'll only provide support for the kernel integrated into BlakCM.
I see 'So and so" posted a fix for this issue or that, is it safe to flash that fix on BlakCM?
Please make a backup before making any modifications or flashing any 'fixes' from ANYONE. You also flash said fix or mod at your own risk..
My data [3G/4G/LTE] doesn't work, but everyone else's seems fine, how do I fix it?
Flash a Stock ROM and update your profile then flash back to BlakCM.
This ROM is for the carrier in the section it is placed in, if you have problems with data and are on a different carrier,
then you must search elsewhere for a fix or ask around to see if someone else knows.
I flashed the ROM and now I have an issue, what should I do?
Pull a logcat and post it on to pastebin.com, provide a link in this thread to it.
Be detail specific in your post. I need to know if you have modded or changed anything that may cause the issue.
How do I pull a logcat?
Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
Will you add 'this' feature?
Not likely. If you want a feature added unofficially, you should add the feature yourself and post your unofficial build.
When will this 'issue' be fixed?
NO ETA's.

ALSO KEEP THE FOLLOWING IN MIND IF YOU HAVE DATA PROBLEMS:

Make sure to update profile when on a sense ROM, then do a clean flash of this ROM. When it boots and you input your name, don't set up an account, choose skip. You won't have any signal at all...no data. Don't panic. Relax...then put your phone in to airplane mode for 1 minute...then switch it off and make sure you have DATA checked ON. DONT TOUCH THE NETWORK SETTINGS., this happens with a majority of 4.3 roms

No luck. The phone turns on, no signal. Okay, I switch to WCDMA preferred, and I got a signal with my 3G SIM-card. BUT! In the status-bar the scale shows with the "R" (Roaming) letter, and I got no data. I can not even set APN for my connection, as there is no such setting.
nate234, is it possible to add some 3G settings in this ROM?

Yay! Thank you crawjr. You've been doing an awful lot around here man. Good works.
I think this really aught to go into the development section, it would get more attention and I think it fits the classification.

Thanks much! Samsung gives us a menu option of what log we want to narrow it down to but only as a radial button to pick one. I wish they would make it a checkbox option and the ability to pick multiple logs to show at the same time. That way people could customize for what THEY want to see.

I linked to the wrong one. Its deodexed.
I am experiencing the same issue with force closes when using SMS. I am running
[Odin]Stock EH06 Deodexed with CWM 3.1.0.1/Root/Busybox 1.19/Working Browser and
[MOD]EH06/EG22/themed_8_lockscreens/StatusBar[MOD][Maddoggin][UPDATE 8/16/11] and [Hack] [EH06] [DEODEX]AIO MOD
Is there any way to REMOVE this fix? I'd rather have the SMSs in the log than have the FCs every time I hit the menu button.
And it did wipe out all of my logs when I flashed it.
I'm fully prepared to just ODIN EH06 again, but it would be nice if I didn't have to.
Of course I didn't do a backup before flashing this file.

Thanks. I'll keep that handy.
Since I hadn't done that much, I just used ODIN and started fresh.
I'm debating trying it again, because that phone log including SMS is really annoying. But so far, it's the only thing not working right for me.

Which 8 lock mod are you using? I had the problem with the clean blue version and I tried Shanes version from honeycomb and it still did it. Doesn't happen with his theme and I don't recall it happening on the stock version of 8 lock.

I'm using the mod for STOCK EH06-- EH06_stock_locks.zip
I thought that was the one I had to use, since there is no theme installed. But I'm realizing that if I had used another one, it would have installed that theme... correct?
I then flashed the AIO mod over that. So I still look kind of stock. Except for the themed GoLauncherEX.
Which I'm very pleased to say has working Gmail notifications, since the Stock ROM had Gmail 3.4.1.5 installed and I haven't updated to 3.5!! Yay me.

I'm having the same issue (almost). I'm using the stock deodexed verson from the link you posted. After flashing it, the dialer FC's when I try to open the logs tab. I'm totally stock minus bloatware with no mods or themes.
Have you been able to out what might be causing this? Or a work around? I found people with the same issue with eg22 but nothing about a fix.

I noticed GPS was conspicuously missing from the list of 'not working' stuff - could that mean...it does!! GPS is working!
I noticed a few quirks with this beautiful rom
First i saw that the peformance menu was missing from setting.
And this is soorta bad for me atleast (Top half of my digitizer doesent work) When pressing on the optical trackpad, it doesent select like it used to in cm10, i guess this is an easy fix
And the camera gets super glitchy only when its in landscape mode.
I'll keep looking, THIS ROM IS LE BEST
EDIT: Camera landscape works in Camera ICS

Google voice is not something I've ever used and I can't be of much help as I don't have an active line on this phone. I don't really want to call verizon to temporarily swap back to this phone unless it's simple. This is one reason I'm longing for GSM.
Can you test this tomorrow after the first official evervolv nightly rolls out? I want to verify the issue on evervolv before trying to chase down an issue.
Also, can anyone else chime in on this?
I'll test it after the next nightly and let you know. Great work you do for us

Check the OP and post 2. It should answer your questions. The swipe feature (don't call it swype as that's proprietary and a different company) doesn't seem to be working properly with this ROM and gapps yet.

hey guys,
when you go to Settings => About Phone => SELinux status
Is the First time I see this on any ROM
What it will be the use on the phone as I know in Ubuntus enforcing mode SELinux policy will be enforced and is most useful in production systems. In permissive mode SELinux will not enforce policy, but will log any denials. permissive mode is used for debugging and policy development. In disabled mode SELinux policy will not be enforced (or logged).
What this function will do on the Phone itself?
This freaking ROM have so many things together that is just amazing  :good: :fingers-crossed: :victory:

I love this ROM. ;P
I don't know if this helps but here's quote:
Security Enhancements for Android™ (SE for Android) is a project to identify and address critical gaps in the security of Android. Initially, the project is enabling the use of SELinux in Android in order to limit the damage that can be done by flawed or malicious apps and in order to enforce separation guarantees between apps. However, the scope of the project is not limited to SELinux.
SE for Android also refers to the reference implementation produced by the project. The current reference implementation provides a worked example of how to enable and apply SELinux at the lower layers of the Android software stack and provides a working demonstration of the value provided by SELinux in confining various root exploits and application vulnerabilities.

They look too small for me on tablet mode.
I know on 4.2.0 version was a menu to span them a bit or stretching them I should say

ProBAM now my Atrix HD Favorite
As much as I am a fan of PACman, this ROM takes it all!! The interface is very clean, really don't have to dig around to find anything. All is where it needs to be. No real problems. Did get reboots when I taxed the system communications (WiFi, BlueTooth, and attached via USB) really seemed to crash the system. If I pile on a bunch of VOIP stuff it crashes the system. PACman gets reboots and the bootloop of death when this happens. Did happen to this one as well but found the trick to loading the device properly to keep that from happening:
1. Factory Reset
2. Wipe Delvic Cache
3. Flash ProBAM
4. Flash GApps
-- It should be noted at this point that you can use the stock GApps for 4.3, or what I used is the Slim IO GApps for SlimBean. Whatever version you use you should consider the issued involved with the version you are using. If you run into any problems, try the general 4.3 GApps (gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip)
*****************************************
NEXT STEPS VERY IMPORTANT
*****************************************
5. Wipe Delvic Cache
6. Reboot
7. ** Do normal startup and load routine but do not enter account information **
What happens here is this settles GApps and seemingly resolves an issue I had with the framework.
8. Run Google Play Store and update apps where possible - do not load new ones!!
9. Reboot
10. Add account information after reboot and go through Google Play Store and load your apps manually
While this is an utter pain, it has solved a lot of issues with my device and what applications get loaded. My GMail works without fail, most notifications work (still have issues with Google+ notifications). This also insures you get the clean versions of the apps, and not something with a broken framework.
Even if I load and let the system restore all the apps I once had, it still does not load them all, nor does it remember the ones I had on my device last.
------------------------------------------
Problems I Have Found
Nova Launcher does not rotate with all the other apps and screen orientation. Only time it will rotate is in driving mode.
Issues with LTE and the "hipri" and "forta" settings - guess that's specific to AT&T pure roms Normal pta APN setting does not work, "phone" does. Note: When your LTE voice service dies, you have to switch to the WAP APN setting. I have a problem with local cell tower going out on me for LTE - all devices. This phone was working because I could switch to WAP and get it running.
Volume Control seems strange. I set it high and the next time I check, the values have changed. Speaker phone is weak at best - louder in regular setting.
Once asleep it takes a while to wake up when you push the power button.
Exceptional battery life - if you turn of WiFi and don't sync. (Not a problem, but thought I should note it)
Needs default option to have menu icon on Nav Bar to be on all the time. You can do this via settings - if you get to the APP list - and change it, but would be nice to have on by default.
Power settings don't sync with System Configuration settings. Icons on power buttons have priority over System Configuration switches. Tried to turn off BlueTooth but did not shut off until I did both the System Configuraiton and the power menu. Power widget works really well for this. I simply go there from now on.
A few hot reboots when communications is really stressed and battery is below 40%. No FC's to speak of - other than Bobsled - but that crashes on on my devices now. I use GrooVe IP and go through Google Voice to make calls now. (My tower is out, have to use local WiFi for work-around. AT&T is working on it...)
------
This is better than PACman. While I am a major fan of PACman, this is more stable, has all the features, and does extremely well. Hopefully you'll have already ported this to other devices. Someday, when I get the money, I'll get something better and see about ProBAM on it....
Keep up the good work. Will get you a donation when I can.
I develop ROMs for a couple devices called TwistedKat .. I'm looking to expand to your device. I built one and need someone to flash it and let me know if it boots or not asap ... If it boots I promise you'll like it .. Please only respond if you can test it now I don't need someone to answer and test it tonight or tomorrow..

I can do it right now. I was about to wipe my phone anyways! Start fresh. I'd love to test it and can tell you if it boots or not in under 3 minutes.

Well I didn't flash gapps just for testing purposes. The ROM does indeed boot. You were also correct. I am impressed. Very nice ROM. I have not had a single FC off the bat and am playing through settings now. Looks like you did a great job as of right now though. Looking forward to the N5 thread. Thank you.

Nice man thanks a lot Ill give you an hour or two to preview it and check it out before I create a thread..Keep me posted and thanks again.. Ill also give you testing credit in the thread..
Haha, sweet deal. I haven't found any bugs yet. Working my way down the settings menu. Going to install again with some gapps this time so I can test the reverse lookup, etc. I'm not sure about needing to flash root or not yet, as I couldn't install a root app due to lack of play store. I'll report back in a few minutes. Downloading the mini modular package from PA. ~85MB. Shouldn't be too long.
I use slim minimal gapps and recommend them for the darkness switch compatibility ..

True, I just went with the first small package that came to mind. Okay so root does need to be flashed after the ROM and gapps.
So far I found 2 things.
1. Quick Setting tiles > style > transparency goes from a flat gray (normal) at 0%. Once you get it to 50% it will be come slightly transparent. 51-100% transparency will just make it turn flat black with no transparency. Not sure if it's meant to be like that but I can see through them on other ROMs. Not a big deal though.
2. I'll try again with slim gapps, but I can't use nearby places lookup. Doesn't work even after toggling in settings. But that might be a gapps issue so I'll check and see.
This ROM is quick. I like it a lot. So that's the only issues I noticed so far, everything else was working good. Well polished for the first release on this device. Honestly I don't think it even needs an Alpha/Beta tag. No reboots no SoD. Feels like its ready for primetime. all in all it would take more time to list what isn't working rather than what is which is what I did. No force closes, etc. Ready for a daily driver. I'm going to stick with it.

Edit: would you ever consider SuperSU over SuperUser? I know some don't like it because it isn't open source (last I heard) but it doesn't give me problems with some apps like superuser.

I think the transparency issue is due to having a black background.. Switch the background color and try again I think you'll see through it ... Thanks for the input I'll release after my movie is over..

Nope. I had a Droid X2 that I rooted, then a Samsung Stratosphere (for like 2 weeks only) then I got a toro galaxy nexus on Verizon. That's why I asked if you had one of those. Your name is familiar too. I know that I know you from somewhere lol I just can't put my finger on it.

Update: I couldn't use nearby places lookup on PA gapps. Also couldn't connect to camera on PA gapps. Was about to send a logcat when I decided to try slim AIO package. Both issues gone.
Only use slim Google apps package on this ROM. Can't find a bug yet

Is it possible to make a mod to swap back button with recent apps button? It's a big thumb stretch!
You can if you goto developer options and check force RTL. The only downside is that it flips everything to a RH laylout.

It is annoying, but so far that's the only option I have seen so far. No ROM has the ability to switch buttons yet.

This, I would love to get this option too.
Got so spoiled with Xposed where things like this were so simple.

It was a native rom feature in a large number of roms as well. I'm sure it will come with time.

Meanwhile there's PIE.
Hello all,
I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions on how to swap the back button with the recents button? There has been talk of it but after much searching I cannot find any specific advice on how to mod this on this device.
Much appreciated, thanks in advance

It's a SystemUI mod. From what I've seen, it isn't too difficult. Only required swapping a couple of lines for me. There's a modded stock 5.0.1 apk in this thread.
I'd love to get a menu button all the time too

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately though that did not work for me. I am on the latest LiquidSmooth and copying it over instantly caused force closes and rebooting didn't save it. Nandroid restored.
Any suggestions?

Many roms customize the system files to provide you with different features. As a result, replacing them with stock files can get those fcs. I may be able to take a look later tonight to get a working version for you.

You can try this. It's from LS 12-16 build. Warning: it was a bit hit-or-miss with me, so keep that nandroid ready. Also, this is something the LiquidSmooth makers could add to their rom, so you should ask nicely.

Hi there, would it at all possible to make this work on the latest release of LiquidSmooth? I can't produce a screenshot right now but the notification bar turns back to the old white upon flashing it, making all notification texts unreadable. Much appreciated if anyone could help out with this
